Wonder if uk fans still think they could dominate the ACC considering they went winless against what is supposed to be middle tier ACC teams this season.... oh by the way, they also have the number one recruiting class and are 1-6.

Gonzaga took a proverbial knee and refused to score 100 against Virginia. Final score 98-75. Top 300 recruit Justin McCoy from Apex looked good for Virginia in the final few minutes

Gonzaga showed how not to get caught up into UVA's deleberate slow paced game . Just take the ball down court and score as quickly as you can. OFC

It’s odd: Bennett has had UNC’s number recently who love to score as quickly as they can, whereas K has had a lot of success against Bennett. I think Bennett has only beaten K 3 times (since they’ve become relevant): 2014 (ACCT), 2018 and 2020.

I like Few, though if he doesn't win this year he might not ever. They are pretty far ahead of everyone else this season.

Although not guaranteed, Gonzaga probably would have won last year. And they are the favorites this year. But right, lets hire the Pitt or Arizona State or Northwestern coaches because they played for Duke. :p (I'm just teasing)

I agree with this sentiment to a degree. Coach K will have a ton of say on who the next coach is at Duke and most likely, it will be a former Duke player, but yea our former players haven’t been exactly world beaters when it comes to coaching at their respective schools.

It’s a fair point.

That’s true, but Capel is still the tallest midget, excuse me, little person. He revived the VCU program, taking them to the NCAA Tournament his second season as a college coach which paved the way for Anthony Grant and Shaka Smart to have success there; he won 30 games at Oklahoma, went to the Elite 8 and is known as a great recruiter. He’s won close to 200 games (currently at 197).

It's not like we, or UNC or Kentucky for that matter, can simply say, we'd like Stevens or Few as our next coach and he will decide to leave where he is to come to Durham. Deep down we all know that. Following Coach K is not going to be an easy gig.

I agree. The Gonzanga program is Fews. Just like Coach K made Duke what. Why would Few want to come to Duke? Why would Tony Bennett want to come to Duke? Brad Stevens perhaps justfor the reason most NBA coaching jobs are a sure thing for a long period oftime. There are exceptions. Stevens hasn't even come close to an NBA title. In college football would Dabo go to Alabama after Nick? Yea it's his alma mater. I feel Duke's next coach will be family. OFC

I think high profile coaches outside of the Duke family will not want to be the guy to follow K, but perhaps the guy after the guy who replaced K.
I like Scheyer, but I just can’t see him getting the job with no HC experience. Maybe down the line, but not right away.

For me one day it's Capel then the next day it's Scheyer, then the next day it's Hurley, then the next day it's Collins. Then Wojo , Amaker and Dawkins pop in but to me Amaker and Dawkins may be aging out. They are Hurley is moving in on 50. in their mid 50's now and Hurley It's getting closer and closer to that day. OFC

Which is surprisingly still young, when we have coaches in their early to mid 70s still coaching.

Man Mich St has taken a dive since beating us.....down 25 to Minn
Duke made MSU look like a Final Four contender.

Rocket Watts: 20 pts vs Duke (21-for-63 from field in next 6 games; 13-for-49 if you ignore the game vs Detroit).

Julius Marble: 12 pts vs Duke (23 pts in next 6 games; 14 if you ignore Detroit game).

MSU must have whipped Detroit, right? Nope. They were up by only 2 points with 1:30 remaining in game.

a comment on the pro game....when a team gets beaten by 51 or by 47 as has happened in the league so far...its hard to say your product is competitive or entertaining for the neutral
