I like the enthusiasm but I still feel like this fix is going to take more than one year.
Thanks, ConorWent out to practice today, wrote about energy shift that's underway.
The way I look at it, the important thing is that we will not have a repeat of last year which would have occurred if Cut had been allowed to stay The current staff, apart from building a team, has the added burden of fixing the damage which Cut inflicted on the program. So, winning a few games and not giving up 40 a game would satisfy me. Anything beyond that would be icing. OFCI like the enthusiasm but I still feel like this fix is going to take more than one year.
Lytle is IMO, our best OL of the three to transfer in thus far!another transfer in
chance lytle a 6'7'' 300lb OT from the colorado buffaloes commits.
think he is a solid depth piece behind barton and gelotte (who i hope are READY)
thats 3 ol guys. now lets see some dline guys coming in
No offense taken surf!! My feelings are simply a hypothesis I guess for reasons you mentioned. Lytle was higher rated, (has been injured,) but IS from a bigger program. Sure he's had less PT, but he's been exposed to tougher competition.hart, not trying to get anything started but just curious as to why you are thinking that a career back up from colorado is a better player than two multi-year starters at smaller schools? i know that lytle was higher rated out of high school, but due to injuries never became a starter. (lets hope he is healthy at last)
Surf I think you're right probably....i dont know this for fact but i think he and the other guy that committed today (george wright) are grey shirts
Tried to get some info on Wright per recruiting. Best I can tell he was offered by TCU.Seems he played mostly OLB in hs.Surf I think you're right probably....

For now, not really. Even with the emphasis on physicality, the QBs are still in green jerseys and don't get taken to the ground. The glass-half-full outlook here is that the staff gets an extended look at both Moore and Leonard without having to also look at a third or fourth option.Thank you Conor! Great report!
2 scholarship QBs, isn't that risky?
Good to see Riley do well. Sounds like a confidence building performance.Congrats to Pickett in the trenches and Davis in secondary as well. OFCso some tweet shout outs from todays practice/scrimmage
justin pickett ot and tony davis cb called out for good play
riley leonard with 3 td passes, 2 to jontavis robertson and 1 to haggins
Thanks, Conor.Meant to post this here yesterday ...
Practice report with an opener on the QBs.
We were able to talk with both coordinators yesterday, so my goal is to have something separate with Robb Smith about the defense later today.
Conor thanks, we are VERY APPRECIATIVE!!! OFCMeant to post this here yesterday ...

A lot of positives in Conor's report. Makes me feel we are definitely moving in the right direction after last year's Cut fiasco. From Conor's fine report sounds like Diamont is settling in rather nicely as receiver!

Seemed like a candid, and not necessarily optimistic, assessment of our D by Robb Smith. Hopefully some transfer help will arrive.

True Lift. Cut had let it really fall off the rails.Wow. When you hear "we aren't nearly where we need to be", it tells you that Coach Smith can't believe how bad they are. Much like when Cut arrived and found a fat, out of shape team. Back to square one.
Candid assessments are refreshing as opposed to Cut's bragging about how fast the team was and about how much improvement the team was allegedly making. OFCSeemed like a candid, and not necessarily optimistic, assessment of our D by Robb Smith. Hopefully some transfer help will arrive.
