so max klare officially flips to purdue so now down to 16.if we get the 15 signatures we are expecting tomorrow then that leaves the qb verbal and 16 more spots they can shoot for in the spring period. i would expect him to use every portal spot he can (i hope) and maybe snag some good high school kids. WOW i have so much excitement right now

also chandler rivers did a very nice interview on another site and mentioned that 8 kids from this class are enrolling in january. that will be huge to get them in that early. carter wyatt, vincent anthony, eric weatherly, jaden watkins, terry moore, nathan vail, chandler rivers and one more who he could not remember by name will be there

Bobo suffered through some terribly disappointing seasons. I don't blame him at all going to a much better program for his 5th year.
Really pleased with Elko too surf, the guy means business! Trooper will help in the transition, since he was interim head coach. It will be interesting to see if he sticks. However if he does, don't look for him coaching our db's again! OFC
so 247 is reporting that our qb verbel henry belin will sign tomorrow. he has risen on most boards (87 on 247, 78 on espn) he was very impressive at phil simms qb camp, so much so that phil called him out by name.
this is now all 16 kids left on our verbal list. so that takes us to 9 open to get to the 25 limit for high school kids and all 7 for the incoming transfer portal.

yeah i gave up my premium membership on this board a few years ago. as the mods then said to me in a direct conversation that they make money talking basketball not football. i like following football much more. i love duke bball but you can read about them anywhere. hopefully with the new coach we can get the interest up enough where the info you (conor) get makes it worth while to join premium again.

Glad @surfdevil noted the signing of our lone qb commit, Henry Belin.You younger Devil fans won't remember Mike Dunn (outstanding Duke qb in 70s,) but thats who this kid triggers memories!!!!

@surfdevil Thank You for all of the updates and insight into Duke Football! I'm excited to see what Coach Elko brings to Duke Football.
His ability to extend plays, and arm strength and accuracy, are impressive. Reminds me of a faster ‘Aaron Rodgers. He could be a real stud for us.
so conor just going to broach a little more of my ''rivals'' frustration. we signed Vincent Anthony from durham who had a monster year, he was invited to the all american bowl as one of the top 100 kids in the nation and YET he gets a 5.5 rating, barely a division one player rating from rivals. he is much higher on 247 and espn. it seems like duke is so low on the totem pole that the grades/ratings never get adjusted to match actual ability. he is not even listed in the top 35 kids in the state. really? i know you just got started here but this has been happening for a while.

@surfdevil what do you think this means about Gunnar's status at Duke?? Possibility of staying perhaps, as the academic issue COULD SIMPLY be related to transferring?
I think if Gunnar were to return, the qb job is still wide open under the coaching change. OFC
We have several NC players in this recruiting class and really like Wall he will be a play maker. He reminds me of Crowder from few years ago.
i guess elko and gunnar met a day or two ago but i dont think he is coming back per his instagram

okay so gunnar is back in the portal and zamari ellis has entered. ellis never hit as a te and they flipped him to de last year. i was kinda surprised that he and peace addo didnt walk on senior day because they really had not been a factor in 4 years. would not really be surprised if addo joins soon.
yeah conor with you being tied in with wake what is your thought on their dc taking a safeties coaching gig? it is a step down so is he fleeing before the axe?

The CliffsNotes are: Wake's defense was awful at times this year, but was really good in others. If you'd asked me after Clawson's Tuesday pressers in weeks after they played Army or UNC, I'd have said yes, Hemphill is on the chopping block. But if you'd asked me after those pressers after they played the majority of their games, I'd say Clawson was pleased.
Mainly, the inconsistency was maddening for Clawson -- that was an on-record quote late in the season. I genuinely did not have a good handle about whether Clawson would have made a change.
The most likely scenario here for me is that Hemphill removed the uncertainty from the equation, and was willing to take a bit of a demotion to start fresh on a new staff.

Mike Elko's former team Texas A&M where he did much of the recruiting, has 4 guys in the transfer portal. Two are 4 stars, one a qb, and the other a cb. Be nice wouldnt it???? LOL, OFC
so i see a report where we are targeting the former miami S&C david feeley. he had been there the last 3 years. i dont know about him but i gotta think anything would be an improvement
