I didn't think Miami looked particularly strong or fast, but that's just my long distance observation

Duke appears locked in on its next strength and conditioning coach.
"The Blue Devils are targeting Miami director of strength and conditioning David Feeley for the role, sources told On3’s Matt Zenitz on Saturday. He has been with the Hurricanes for the last three seasons."

so it seems we are hiring robb smith the dc from rutgers as our dc. has an okay track record. he has been the dc at arkansaw and then at minnesota before spending the last 2 years at rutgers. seems to be conflicting reports on his leaving by choice or contract not renewed. 2 coaches hired both with dc experience. hmmm i expect better d

Here's the story (so far) on Robb Smith -- I suspect the timeline will be about the same it was for Hemphill, we'll have confirmation from Duke in the next day or two.
Kind of weird (to me, at least) that Duke has scooped up one guy who appeared to be falling out of favor with his head coach (Hemphill) and another who reportedly wasn't going to have his contract renewed (Smith). It's not necessarily a bad thing to get those types of guys for a staff -- but I don't think you want to go to that well for every hire.
@surfdevil is right to expect better defense -- though I'd argue that expectation was established with Elko's hiring, and these first two hires are more reinforcement.

I'm beyond sour. It was pathetic! I think that you have a good football coach. I'm sure that he knows that the Miami strength coach is good. In my casual watching of Miami, they were not at all intimidating.

One thing is for sure: Elko knows defense. He would not hire someone as a DC or defense assitstant unless he was convinced of their value. Trust in that! OFC

Negative -- the two defensive coaches are the only ones so far.

Exactly my friend. Our new coach DEFINITELY HAS A PLAN AND ITS GETTING QUALITY ASSISTANTS!!! Last year we merely reshuffled the chairs on the Titanic with regards to assistants!!! OFC
Good and solid accomplishment by Bower of moving up in the ranks. Started out at the smaller schools, and now brings Power-5 experience from Notre Dame and Texas A&M as well.
He is also young, and I predict he will help us at DE's. Bower has also worked with Mike Elko, a huge selling point, considering Elko's defensive acumen.
