Hard to say but maybe a reset and a consistent line up and substitution pattern can give the team some identity.. At the moment it doesnt look like they know what to do on the offensive end at all so it leads to poor possessions in crunch time.
The reality is that we are a good team but that is about it. When Javin is getting 22 min and literally brings nothing positive in any way you’re in trouble.

Our freshmen are talented with very little awareness... still waiting on them to figure it out. I don’t think much will change at this point. We only have one pro-level player with awareness: Tre. Our other awareness guys are very limited on offense (Jack, Goldwire and Justin). Hurt, Javin, Wendell and Vernon can’t seem to process changes at game speed. It’s a shame.
arrrr. oh well. win the last 2, get a 3 seed and hope for a good match up. if we're a 4 seed we get smoked in the sweet 16.

It is one of the most questionable things I’ve seen. What was said in the huddle? “Tre, you get the ball, put your head down, throw the ball toward the rim, and pray!.. everybody else.. y’all just sit back and watch.. don’t worry about the rebound.”
Coach K has to establish roles at this point....we have zero identity but hero ball with tre, and I honestly don’t blame him, no one can make a three right now......the rotations are so random.....but we have to ride some guys at this point and say go figure it out.

Sooooo Javin ended up being our third leading scorer with 6 points lol. That’s sad.
Really not a lot we can say. We played their game and got beat. Don't even think about a 2 seed. Right now we are a 4 seed going into the ACC tourney and two games remaining in conference play that we can lose. The players not the coaching staff needs to figure some things out. OFC
Coaching staff needs to step up too though...I saw nothing from them that helped this team try to win tonight
This ream will not make it out of the first weekend unfortunately. About all we have left to cheer hard for is that we beat UNCheat on senior night and the direction both teams are headed I doubt Duke does that. We are heading south in a hurry. Losing 3 out of 4 to non ranked teams is pitiful

I love Duke like all of you but some of you need to stop looking at things with blinder on.
As far as Tre putting his head down and putting up a shot...I would take that over any other option at the time. NO ONE wanted to take a shot for Duke. We showed no confidence on offense this game. But a lot of that is a credit to UVA's defense. Things change quickly though, and we can still come together and go a long ways.

We never really know who is starting.. we never know who is coming off the bench first or who is going to get no playing time..

I hate being negative but i have seen nothing from this team that shows they can win 6 straight games. Just way too inconsistent and to survive in the tournament the end of game execution needs to be on point. It has been the exact opposite. We have no go to scorer down the stretch and really we only have maybe two consistent scorers. With that being said anything can happen in March so i still hold out hope.
These past few games esp the losses to comes down to the lack of others stepping up and contributing. Yes I love Jones and Carey but they do it all. I don’t like when Jones is hero ball forcing things up. Where are you AOC, Hurt, Baker somebody step up and make a shot!
And part of me does question K lot lately! I wish the other coaches had a bigger voice!

With the team we had last year, we should have won the title, this year should have been gravy. We all knew coming in this year, it was supposed to be a down year (per duke standards) Surprising this team looked more like an old fashioned non 1 and done team and we had high hopes. Unfortunately they are who we thought they were originally.
Well the infighting on this board always puts a smile on my face, so at least one positive came out of this debacle
We need to cut a couple out of the rotation completely and go with a 8 man rotation...too many players that don't bring much
End of game situations and coaching have been really poorly this year and I would say last year as well. What happened to drawing things up and getting a good shot. I love K, but this has been really bad. I do not think the kids know what their roles are or how to deal with adversity and that is on the coach.
Glass half full we nearly beat UVA at their place. win the last 2, win one in the ACC tournament and get a 3 seed. Hopefully some favorable match ups. I'm trying to be positive here.
