What a great win! I have to admit, I've been very critical of the offense. Rightfully so at times, but I have to give credit where it's due.
While not perfect, it's gotten better every game. The Defense has been rock solid all year.
Duke has two very winnable games to finish the season at 9-3 & 5-3. LFG!!!!

Interesting that both times we had a bye, the other team we play after the bye week also had byes, so we had no advantage.

If Duke beats Wake to go 3-0 against the in state schools it has to help recruiting especially on the defensive side. Our guys are going after the ball on every tackle

we did. Kemp flipped 7 weeks ago so that was before the season was really going. wonder how he feels now seeing how poor the nc state qb's have performed and how MM is just getting better and better. he also may just want to be defensive player which i understand. Gompers seems to be a kid most people are recruiting as a lb instead of a te. i played both sides of the line in high school and i really enjoyed the dline better.
I understand Jacquez Moore is coming back next year. That is big news!
To me the big one coming back is Chandler Rivers. He is an absolute DOG on defense and his dad says he loves Duke and is coming back
I didn't know he had another season left. Boy if he could grow 2 inches he would be a sure fire pro.

i actually feel good about us keeping most of these kids because we normally get a highly rated player early on who down the line looks around and says ''where is my help?'' but this year we are adding more and more so no one should feel alone.

If we finish out the season well (let's say 2 wins out of 3) then we certainly will be a program on the uptick.
Lift I know EXACTLY what you are saying. It's TRUE! However, to some degree Manny has already established an "UPTICK" in the program. OFC
I'm just thinking that both for our "committed" recruits as well as others who may be wavering on their commitment to other schools, a strong finish will encourage young players to want to be part of a program on the upswing.

Agreed, Liftee. I didn’t think we’d be a 3-4 win team this year, but 5 seemed realistic. This isn’t sour grapes, but I’m glad we have Manny and not Midnight Mike. And I suspect that the players who returned from last year would say the same thing. If we run the table for the rest of this year, we may grab some decommits and be able to attract portal guys for any positions we feel we need help at.
Manny seems like a Duke guy, i.e., tough but clean, committed to the players more than just for their on the field activities. Hope we get more than 2 years from him.
I know we've all been frustrated at times with the team. However, if we were told Duke has a legit shot to finish the reg season 9-3 and 5-3. That they would beat uncheat and the wuf pak. We'd all happyily take it w/o hesitation.

Amen Lift the 7 wins thus far, beating the Cheats down the road and NC State are a tremendous high. Quite simply, the fact we still have a chance to win 10 games(and win the state title), is mind blowing!!

I think the road that brought Manny to Duke he might stay a while. He has been a pleasant surprise first year. I like the way he uses the 5'8 175 pound safety on the blitz. Not many coaches would come up with that.

There were two consecutive years of really BAD Duke Football (pretty much "ground zero") following in '20 and '21. However the retirement of AD Kevin White, and promotion of replacement Nina King signaled a renewed interest in WINNING.
