Really good read Conor. I loved RELIVING the details of our taking CONTROL of the game, and the comments of Coach D!!

BTW, your thoughts on Grayson Loftis' run for a first down in our goal line offense ?? Key play!! I know Grayson can play the rest of the season, and keep his red shirt intact. Do you suspect we will see a little more of Loftis?? Thanks!

Big Four NC Title Race
Duke, 2-0
Wake, 1-0
Unc, 0-1
State, 0-2
Honestly never saw it; have only seen a couple of the highlights from yesterday.

I had a friend's wedding to attend at 4:30, so I listened to a bit of the first quarter on the radio and got caught up after getting home.

we did. Kemp flipped 7 weeks ago so that was before the season was really going. wonder how he feels now seeing how poor the nc state qb's have performed and how MM is just getting better and better. he also may just want to be defensive player which i understand. Gompers seems to be a kid most people are recruiting as a lb instead of a te. i played both sides of the line in high school and i really enjoyed the dline better.

so just to make sure everyone is catching this Bradley Gompers LB/TE and Nate Sheppard RB both moved up to 4 star status on this board.
I dont know that we have ever had this much defensive talent verbally committed in one year
Sampson Onuoha DE 5.7
Tommy Rupley DT 5.7
Bradley Gompers LB/TE 5.8
Kolby Harmon DB 5.7
Bariate Kara DE 5.7
Bryce Davis DE 5.9
Maliki Wright DB 5.6
Elliot Schaper LB 5.6
Kaleb Lanier DB 5.6
Asher Wasserman LB 5.6
Julius Columbus DT 5.6
there are others committed but that is basically a starting line up of mid 3star to higher just on D

i actually feel good about us keeping most of these kids because we normally get a highly rated player early on who down the line looks around and says ''where is my help?'' but this year we are adding more and more so no one should feel alone.
GO MANNY!!!!!

also big turnout for final home game this weekend so pressure on to play well
sampson onuoha
queanu johnson
dan mahan
tommy rupley
kavon simmons
julius columbus
kaleb lanier

javion solomon
asher wasserman
daniel boyd IOL 6'4'' 290 lbs. he decommitted from first school and per crystal ball coming to us we hope.
camaul king S 6' 170lbs class of 26
travis burgess QB 6'4'' 180lbs class of 26

I'm just thinking that both for our "committed" recruits as well as others who may be wavering on their commitment to other schools, a strong finish will encourage young players to want to be part of a program on the upswing.

Quite a difference from the predictions that we'd win 3-5 games this year!

Agreed, Liftee. I didn’t think we’d be a 3-4 win team this year, but 5 seemed realistic. This isn’t sour grapes, but I’m glad we have Manny and not Midnight Mike. And I suspect that the players who returned from last year would say the same thing. If we run the table for the rest of this year, we may grab some decommits and be able to attract portal guys for any positions we feel we need help at.

I remember not too long ago a guy named Hart or something was moaning about the coach of Duke and felt that the program was back to ground zero.

I wonder how that young guy is feeling now about our Devils!

Very knowledgeable gentleman, especially of Duke Football. Told me he believes the Blue Devils have done a 180 from the days of an ill-fated goal line half back pass at UNC in 2019...

There were two consecutive years of really BAD Duke Football (pretty much "ground zero") following in '20 and '21. However the retirement of AD Kevin White, and promotion of replacement Nina King signaled a renewed interest in WINNING.

so javin gordon RB decommits. not surprising. he was #2 behind nate sheppard coming in and now that jaquez moore says he was coming back he was going to be buried on the depth chart
Don't let the door hit ya' on your way out son. This is DUKE FOOTBALL, and the REBUILDING DAYS are over. We RELOAD!!

I'm surprised there's no mention of Daniel Jones being released by the Giants. He always tried his best despite the most challenging of times. I hope he catches on with a better franchise that appreciate his talents and maturity.

Jones needs to be with a stable franchise, not one that has a whirlwind coaching carousel, and can’t give him a O-line to protect him. I’m a Vikings fan, and as well as Sam Darnold has done this year, Jones would thrive there. I wish Jones had been released last year…

I don’t see Jones as an NFL caliber starting QB no matter who he’s with. I think he can be a serviceable backup. Nothing really struck out to me while at Duke that he could be a good starting QB at the next level. I guess that’s just my opinion. I know he doesnt have much to work with in NY but he’s not looked good since signing that contract.

IMO the expectations were too high on Daniel because he was drafted too soon while not showing that much potential. He was in way over his head. Hope he mentally can recover from his time in NY and get another shot.

IMO, his stats are so misleading. He can throw long, but making accurate throws or intelligent decisions (case in point, the end of 2nd Q pick) are not his skills. And don’t get me started on his running/scrambling abilities.
