Ecstatic with win, 6-1. I do not know how we can keep winning with same qb and oc. SMU scores over 40 a game, and is 21st nationally in AP POLL. Game will be the feature match on "ACC NETWORK."

We’re winning because of our D. Our O has looked worse each of the last 3 games, culminating in a 70 yards passing, 180 yards total offense against FSU. Opponents have figured out what we have, namely Murphy won’t leave the pocket even if there was a hand grenade in it. No need to have a defender assigned to him in case he decides to run it. Not to mention he seems fixed on his primary target, increasingly throwing into double coverage and not checking down to his 2nd and 3rd targets.
This game reminded me of the State game last year where Belin (I think it was Belin) was kept under wraps while the defense did the heavy lifting.
I suspect Manny is of the camp that you don't make major changes as long as you're winning. I can understand that philosophy, but is it so much to ask your QB to occasionally suck it up and run?

Manny is a defensive minded coach. I think if we start losing games he might make some changes. I think Murphy has 1 loss as a starter and hopefully the horseshoe don't fall out till after the season. I haven't seen Belin enough to know how effective he will be. We don't have Allstars at offensive line or receivers
Nice report, Conor. Hopefully our adjustments will pay off Saturday. But I’m a little surprised that we have to convert a lineman into a TE to cover for injuries - did we not have any frosh ready to move up? I thought Vance Bolyard (R-Fr) was pretty highly regarded when we got him.

Just seems to me like they don't trust Vance Bolyard with where he is in development right now. Attached his recruiting card below; I will say, having some knowledge of his school ... I would've felt a lot better about getting a recruit from Northern Guilford 10 years ago than in the last few years. That place kind of took a nosedive with a few coaching changes.
Conor, right on. I live in the area, and Northern has drastically dropped off the radar. They were once a feared power, but you can recruit hs players from other schools for so long and not get exposed.People love or hate Northern, no in-between, the UNC syndrome.

Thanks Conor. Wow, all-around strong in basically all areas are the Mustangs. Qb Kevin Jennings is the REAL DEAL as a dual threat. You have to figure they are going to get their points.
Flipside they have been vulnerable on D thru the air. Can Murphy have a good nite throwing, move the chains, keep the Duke defense as rested as possible? More importantly, can Duke put 30-35 points on the board??
No question, toughest test to date. This seems to almost have the feel/importance of last year's Notre Dame game at home. Our quarterback play is the key in my opinion, and Murphy must play Saturday nite at a very high level.
