I'm a Giants and Duke football fan. I have loads of time on weekends now to enjoy the changing season, do work around the house, etc. I just don't want it to become a habit.
I am sure they are my friend! OFCYou know I kinda do. He has already rebuffed several bigger schools that have reached out to him. Seems pretty focused on Duke. All the kids who have committed are aware of what's going on.
Lift there is no other explanation.Obviously we've misfired on evaluating some prospects, even so you would EXPECT a staff to DEVELOP players better.Last night I looked at the recruiting rankings for Duke's competitors since 2017. Usually Pitt, Wake, Duke, Virginia and Georgia Tech were pretty closely clustered and surprisingly the worst ranking of the bunch was usually Wake. Yet look how Wake is doing with those recruits and look how Duke is doing compared to UVA, Pitt, and Georgia Tech.
Can there be any other explanation than coaching?
I certainly wouldn't be opposed toI'm enjoying the Columbia vs. Dartmouth football game on ESPNU. Columbia leads 13-0 at the half. Columbia's record is 4-1, and Dartmouth is 5-0. Columbia is well coached. It's almost impossible to win there. Dave Clawson won at perennial loser, Fordham. Might be worth interviewing the Columbia coach
Harp was not liked by the players according to me fraternity brothers, which may explain his poor record.I certainly wouldn't be opposed to
TALKING with him. Duke hired an Ivy League FB coach in '66 from Cornell in Tom Harp. Of course Tom was hired after the very successful Bill Murray stepped down. Bill couldnt be blamed, as Duke admin told him they would be "deemphasizing" football.(A move that would hurt the program and school for YEARS).
Harp only had one winning year I think in five and stepped down following the '70 season. However Harp's teams were FUN TO WATCH! They threw the ball to he## and back, and it was a MUCH MORE ENTERTAINING PRODUCT
than the paint drying we have now. Duke had a pretty good qb in Leo Hart, and a dandy receiver in Wes Chesson. OFC
Lift I couldnt resist! OFCI like how you got Hart and Chesson into the conversation.
Interesting DI.....If he could haveHarp was not liked by the players according to me fraternity brothers, which may explain his poor record.
His age would be a serious liability. The Columbia coach looked pretty old. I was stunned by their winning record. They used to go years between football wins
I think he may go earlier ged. OFCI can't believe the score: Wake 70-56. Both teams run the ball a lot. Must have scored on every possession. Pittsburgh is handling Clemson with ease. Amazing that they lost to Western Michigan. The Pittsburgh Quarterback, Pickett, is excellent. He would be a steal in the 3rd round of the draft
I honestly think Wake can just about name the score next week. Our secondary while talented, grossly lacks in execution, and Sam Hartman should put on a show.I see Wake and Army started the college basketball season today…More seriously, I hate to think what Wake is going to do to us - that was pretty decent Army team, playing at home. I wish we were a football school like Wake.
Which we don’t have. 😩Wake never punted today but their defense had trouble with triple option
He's definitely going higher. I looked it up as soon as I posted. QBs always go higher than I project. The Clemson quarterbacks are unbelievably awfulI think he may go earlier ged. OFC
Oh how the mighty have fallen, and I love it. Personally, I think Dabo is LSU bound! OFCThe Clemson quarterbacks are unbelievably awful
Agreed king....Certainly on the road in ACC games we are abysmal. Outscored 86-7 by Unc and UVA.I think it's going to be bad because I don't think we can stop the run or the pass.
Well, Wake just scored 70 vs. Army. Can we hold them under 100? OFCAgreed king....Certainly on the road in ACC games we are abysmal. Outscored 86-7 by Unc and UVA.

I think they're a cinch to crack the half century mark DI. OFCWell, Wake just scored 70 vs. Army. Can we hold them under 100? OFC
Amazing the job their staff is doing at Wake. This really underscores their player development, something which is sorely lacking with us.Wake is doing this without one of their top receivers Donavon Green who was injured during off season.
Lift they"ve done it to us before, and don't be surprised if they really run it up Saturday. This is not a Jim Grobe team who led us 41-0 at half in Wade in Carl Franks swan song, and didnt throw a pass 2nd half to hold it down.I don't think we have to worry about Wake scoring more than 50 Saturday. I suspect they'll do what everyone else does and score on their first 4 or 5 possessions and then shut down their offense. I don't think the Cut apologists are willing to acknowledge that the scores would be twice as bad if other teams wanted to make it so.
Let us not forget that in 2018 Wake beat a far better Duke team 59-7. OFCLift they"ve done it to us before, and don't be surprised if they really run it up Saturday. From what I read on another board this morning theres bad blood between Clawson and Cut. Furthermore, Wake wants to move up as high in the polls as they can, before closing with UNC, Pitt and Clemson. That translates to a big, fat crooked number against Duke.

That statement is just another Cut attempt to blame his failures on the players. Cut also said: "One thing you can't do is start changing what you are doing every time something is not going well." That, in a nutshell, explains why things do not get any better. Opposing teams know ahead of time what we are doing. Moreover, if what you are doing does not work, why not at least TRY to find something that does? OFCWhat concerns me is some of Cut's comments at his presser yesterday. 7 games into the season: "Are we playing the right people???" Coach the season is over halfway done. You've gotta know these things!!! OFC
Yes, that’s reminiscent of the saying “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result”.That statement is just another Cut attempt to blame his failures on the players.
