True.....It's a win though, and we lost to them last year. So there's that.
i will go the other way on this. if you cant stop them going 96 yards then why would the defense be able to stop them with 6 seconds less from 75 yds after a kick off? the defense gagged like dogs and gave up two fourth down plays, thats what killed them. The Vikings decision not to kick the field goal was pretty bad. That put their defense in a bad spot
That's true but they would have to score and make the two point conversion just to send it to overtime. Russel Wilson is a magician in a tough situationi will go the other way on this. if you cant stop them going 96 yards then why would the defense be able to stop them with 6 seconds less from 75 yds after a kick off? the defense gagged like dogs and gave up two fourth down plays, thats what killed them.
yeah cole is saying it is because he wants to play safety and duke has him at lb but thats a crock. there have been signs ever since he committed. his twitter page has him adding and following a lot of other programs and coaches since committing so this really caught no one by surprise. the way our season started did not help either. wish him well
In order for a school to require kids to sign some kind of "binding contract" prior to signing day, every other school would have to do it too. That's because schools who don't require binding contracts would have a big competitive advantage in recruiting. A kid is more likely to commit to a school if he knows that he can "de-commit" if necessary before actually signing his scholarship papers. Oral "commitments" before actual signing day, are understood to be non-binding and merely expressions of present intention. The actual signing is a binding commitment which carries with it penalties if broken.surf I just dont like the decomittment part. I am to the point these kids should sign a TRULY BINDING agreement. Its not fair to coaching staffs who would otherwise offer other kids schollys for the same position. OFC

look, decommits are just a part of the game. most teams have 2 or 3 a year. its okay. as was pointed out earlier, duke basketball goes after committed kids and steals them frequently. these are 17-18 year old kids who are dealing with new things. they are just learning to be men.I see your point, I just feel it shows a lack of maturity on the youngster's part, and tells you a lot about the kid's character. Its like I can verbal and if I get something better, the heck with it. Sets a bad precedent and shows how spoiled he is.... OFC

as to the binding contract thing, MEH. since the schollies are only valid for a year and schools boot underperformers all the time (see tenn) by not letting kids re-up, i am okay with the kids having some time to look around.
The game wasn’t on in my area, so I was unable to watch it. In the first game against ND, I thought Chase Brice would be a valuable QB, but man I agree with u. My opinion on Brice has changed drastically since week 1. Maybe give Holmberg a try. It couldn’t hurt at this point.I don't think Chase Brice is the guy
It's just another case where we keep on shooting ourselves in the foot. Game wasn't on for me to watch either, but I see Chase had 3 more interceptions. The only thing I see today good is the Cheats are getting their asses handed to them. So much for a top five team!!!

I am with you , Hart. As an example of how meaningless the Syracuse game was, Syracuse was crushed by Liberty (that's right , Liberty). Turns out that Dino may be an even worse coach than Cut. But back to the State game. Worst play-calling inside the red zone I have ever seen. Not kicking a field goal late was just plain stupid. How many times do you have to run plays inside the tackles in order to figure out that State's front three are just too good and that 2 yards a carry just won't get it? The fact that we were up 20-7 really meant nothing, given that for the entire game our offense produced only one TD. According to Cut, this was Bryce's best game. Really? After 3 more costly int's? If we do not get better quarterbacking than that, we will not win another game, except maybe against Charlotte. Wake beat UVA. Why are the teams with new coaches already playing and recruiting better than Duke? The game has passed Cut by.JC thank goodness the 'Noles held on at end for the exciting win. UNC stormed back, but the FSU lead was just enough! The game truly saved the day after yet ANOTHER Duke flop. We won't turn things around in football again until we have better coaching leadership, and develop our players. Also the Brice era should be over....Encourage him to transfer elsewhere if he wants to play his final year. OFC

TOTALLY w/you guys on all points. The game was literally there for us to grab by the neck 1st half, and even 3rd quarter. For Cut to praise Brice after the game, SMH.....Cut's game plan was a duplicate of Syracuse per ALL THE RUNS and he prepared no back-up plan. Bobo was about only bright spot on offense, and any decent hs quarterback hits Gray on the wide open short WHAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN automatic TD pass..... OFCi look at the game as a 60/40 split. 60 percent of the screw ups go on cut. the time clock management at the end of the first half was brutal. cut screws that up all the time. dont throw the ball twice and stop the clock for the other team and give them the ball back with time. just stupid. the play calling in the red zone sucks. thats cut. why constantly run the ball to the left side? we got nothing all game yet thats where almost every run went.40 percent belongs to the players. tangelo knows you cant take your helmet off on the field. STUPID penalty. interception in your hands you catch it or at least knock it down. bad td. why do the receivers constantly run a yard short of the marker on 3rd down?
we are now 1-5 and are looking at the same issues for how many years in a row? we are sad
“This team is ugly. And it’s ugly because of two people – David Cutcliffe and Chase Brice. Cutcliffe is sticking with a quarterback whose best skill is giving the ball to the other team”
BUT...Cut said Bryce had his best game against NC State with 3 interceptions. Boggles my mind. We ain't got anyone who can do any better? Let's go back to the single wing.Even if they are showing less, it's fun giving a player who works hard a chance in the game. I coached a few players who were good in games, yet looked like duds in practice
