So we had two stud OT in this weekend. Mason Wade we have talked about but Robert Bourdon was also in and is another stud. Man if we can get those two then we would have a pair of bookend mansters!

I think OL is one of the most important units for any team, so establishing both OT positions early on would be huge
I also just saw from Adam Rowe that we recruited Floyd to be a Safety/Nickel instead of a WR. Something to keep track of
If we are bumping a kid with those kind of moves to the secondary that makes me think they feel really good about a couple of those highly rated wr's that are visiting this month. That being said, he is such a good athlete I can see him being a force in the secondary
That was my thought process as well. Plan for him to be in the secondary, and if some of these guys don’t commit as they expect, then maybe he gets moved to WR
Okay so Mason Wade tweeted late night that is announcing today which bodes very well for us. He was going to va tech this weekend and they thought he was a lock so to me this means we get him. First huge piece for OT.

That’s been on my mind as well, especially with Hauss leaving earlier. I’m just hoping all these guys are fully bought in and are committed to helping turn this program around
I think, Liftee, you nailed it with your observation about the fact that most of these guys have received a number of other power five offers. I think it makes it unlikely they will bolt unless it’s an offer from the likes of Alabama, Georgia, Clemson or the other perennial playoff teams. Elko’s huge turnaround of us last year is really paying off quickly. A marginally better year would have left us quite vulnerable.
How can you not like an OL whose nickname is “Moose”? WW fans are going to enjoy that!

just for giggles i went to goduke.com and looked into the roster. we have 28 grad, red shirt senior and senior scholly kids.
just an fyi we have 3 DE and 3 DT that are in that group. that leaves 4 DT and 5 DE so at least 1 more of each besides the ones already committed.
there are 5 OL in that group.so look for at least 2 more i would think.

I’m sure it’ll be an interesting transition between this year and next with all of the vets we’ll most likely lose
so you gotta hope that the coaching staff plays some of younger kids so they have game experience next year.

I agree, we gotta get some young guys some reps, especially since we have 25-26 freshmen on the roster rn. However, I’m sure most of them will RS and mainly get some playing time during our Non-Conference games.
I was just thinking about the ratings of these commits, and it blows my mind that Cherry and Mencke, who are low 4* are Top 15 recruits all-time, and a lot of these other guys are Top 50 even being around an 87. It’s crazy how a staff can come around and change a culture so drastically. I just hope Elko doesn’t get swept away by some big-time program after a couple of successful seasons here
