Thanks!! I haven't forgotten about hoops. Waiting for final lineup clarity. But the possibility of Duke baseball hosting really gets my juices flowing. And I can usually stay out of the sun for baseball; but NCAAs is going to need temporary everything. But Ambler tennis doesn't have a roof and it can get seriously sunny there.
According to 247 Sports, Duke is the favorite for 4* QB Tyler Cherry, 6'5' 215. Surf, is this true? OFC
yes. he was going to commit last week but penn state offered at the last minute to delay things.
On3 gives us the second-best odds to get 4* EDGE Benedict Umeh, but Penn State has the best odds and 247 gives them the edge as well. Any chance we pull off a miracle and get him to commit here?

Rivals as always has the lowest rating as a solid 3 star.
My issue with rivals is that because Duke football has such a small following they never go back and regrade our recruits after senior year. Look at our lb recruits last year. All 3 of the other rating services were from solid 3 star to borderline 4 star. Rivals threw out 2 star ratings because they never really looked at them in my mind and 5.4 is their fallback grade.
I enjoy this site and like Conor and the people on this site. I just wish we would get bigger and rivals would pay Duke football some attention

Just catching up here ... it's inevitable that Drake Maye and Jordan Travis get ranked ahead of him because of the constant offseason hype those programs get and because, simply, they're really good.
I think he's just as good as they are but it's not like Athlon asked me, haha.
It is laughable that either Brennan Armstrong or Cade Klubnik would be ranked ahead of Riley.
Also: As you've (hopefully) read, Riley absolutely plays with a chip on his shoulder. I'm not sure he needs more motivation, but at least he's got some with Athlon's ranking.

So the summer camp season is getting started
There are lots of guys coming in the next few weekends so I expect the commitments to start happening over the next month. I think it is huge getting so many 4 star kids to even come to these camps. It was not happening before so props to Elko.

I’m definitely excited looking at all the guys coming to visit. Hopefully we can get one or two more 4*s to commit and set a new precedence for the program
30 OV's scheduled just this month with 7 or 8 4*'s. First group due in June 9. Hopefully, this will be a fun 3 weeks with lots of good news. OFC
Unfortunately 2 of the guys I was really hoping for committed to Penn State yesterday so they won't be visiting now. Part of swinging at bigger targets.
I remember reading that Coach K got really frustrated losing top level recruits to UNX and other elite schools when he first started out, until he got the Dawkins class. Maybe Elko will have a breakthrough class of his own. You never know.
Liftee good point. Duke was oh so close to nabbing Chris Mullin a year or two prior to the Dawkins class. Indiana center Uwe Blab and Mullin St.John's teammate Bill Wennington too. Elko going thru those growing pains now, but he's laying the foundation!!! OFC

I am really hoping, and almost expecting, that we are going to whip the Holes every year from now on. Eventually recruits will start noticing. I would be sure every recruit is aware of that as soon as they walk in our door.
