OT: Sports trivia part 2.

Duke Football players won the ACC player of year award under head coach Steve Spurrier in back to back years. Name the 2 players. One won it in '88, the other '89.....You must have BOTH PLAYERS for correct answer, so enter two Blue Devils for each answer... OFC

Nolan Ryan being a part of it is a great guess, but not correct.

Tonight Cole and Verlander became the 2nd teammates to ever do this, so it probably won’t take long now for somebody to come up with the answer as to who were the 1st.

With Tim Anderson about to win the batting crown as a shortstop, which hasn't been done in over 20 years. Who was the last shortstop to lead the league in hitting.

Before the last guy you would have to go back over 50 more years to find a shortstop winning the batting crown. Dick Groat did it then.

So Timmy Anderson joins very rare company today.

Nomar led the AL in batting .347 in 1999 and again in 2000 with a .372. according to google. OFC
Nomar won the AL batting crown but not the MLB crown at .347, Larry Walker hit .378.

I think he tied Todd Helton the other year but I will check. In any case I did not state outright MLB batting champ, so true.

It wasn't Franco. Skysdad can give the next. Nomar was technically a batting champ (AL champ). Poorly worded question, not stated MLB. Take it away Skysdad

A-Rod... Alex Rodriguez was the last MLB batting champ to play shortstop.

Congrats to my teams SS, Timmy Anderson.

What MLB player has won the most batting titles with 12 which included 9 in a row. OFC

I'll guess an old timer then. Rogers Hornsby ?

Rogers won quite a few but even he didn't come that close. When I researched it I was surprised somewhat but after thinking it all made sense. He is an old timer though. Before the 1930's. He was mentioned in the movie Field of Dreams but not one of the players represented, When the greatest player of all time is discussed you always hear the names Ruth, Gehrig, Barry Bonds, Wagoner, Mays, Ted Williams or Hank Aaron but rarely does his name come up. OFC

In the nfl playoff game between the Bills and Oilers in 93, the great comeback game, who were the 2 quarterbacks?
