From what I've seen, recruits were very impressed with the atmosphere and the University themselves, said it was a great game even though they lost. Idk if we will get any commitments from those recruits there, but at least we're making a name for ourselves

I was wrong about a few things on their offense, but I was pretty consistent with saying their OL has been a problem for 2 years and this season was going to test their program's floor.
It's just not a program that's good enough to plug and play newcomers every year. Not when you recruit to the developmental model that 75-85% of P5s have to have.
Well it appears we're in for another tough one this week(probably this way here on out). Duke has opened -3.5 pt favorites vs the Wolfies, and I hope the joint will be jumpin' in Wade Saturday nite at 8, ACC NETWORK. I simply hope State fans from nearby Raleigh, don't outnumber Duke fans (our Wade Wackos on Fall Break).
I have seen numerous State-Duke fb games in my time, and we've had plenty of bad luck in close finishes. The Pack seems plenty cocky after their one td win over Marshall (48-41), and they did score plenty.
I think they see a TOTALLY different kind of defense this weekend however. Pack fans are all abuzz over their new starter at qb(M.J.Morris will start rest of year over Brennan Armstrong),as HC Dave Doeren announced it after Morris' impressive Marshall debut.
That's OK. I look for us to come out breathing fire to go 2-0 in conference play, and OC Kevin Johns will have Leonard back-up Henry Belin IV ready to go! We'll be very anxious to hit somebody other than ourselves after the Notre Dame gut-wrencher.Duke by 14. OFC

I hope Todd is back on target with field goals. The defense will be rested and breathing fire as Hart says. If we avoid turnovers in our own end, I think we'll be fine. Don't know about Duke by 14 but I can see Duke by more than a TD.
The 14 is probably from my "Hart" Lift, and not my head. I cannot deny the game CONCERNS me, because of the crazy history of Duke-State games.

The Riley interception and the failure of 4 Duke guys to recover that fumble were two big plays that were out of character for an Elko led Duke team. I hope we return to our normal turnover rate for the State game.
To me the most out of character play was failing to hold ND when it was 4th down and 16. There was either a missed assignment or a misalignment. Once Hartman passed the line of scrimmage, he still had 16 yards to go and was no longer a theat to throw the ball. Despite the fact that he is hardly a speedster, he was almost untouched until he had gained the needed yardage. Something that should just NEVER have happened at that most critical stage of the game. Whatever happened earlier in the game would have made no difference had Hartman been stopped. OFC

I think it's ridiculous that a QB can cross the line of scrimmage and then go back as Hartman did. He froze the defensive backfield when he did that and they weren't sure he was goin to run until he was at least 5 yards downfield. Still I assume all receivers were far downfield and no one reacted when he started running in earnest.
I hear talk of Riley possibly even starting this week, but I can't see it. I think Henry might have understandable opening jitters, but look for him to settle down.
I know State lit up Marshall for 48 pts, but I DO NOT think that was good prep for the Duke defense he will see Saturday nite. OFC

We look sloppy but they look worse. Missed a couple of deep balls plus receivers dropped some very catchable throws. The take down/holding call that took away the punt return td was just stupid. So far away from the play and there was a second blocker on him. Ugh. We DO have a 14 point lead so let's hope we take it up a notch in the second half.
Duke has allowed only allowed 10 points in the 3rd quarter the last 10 games (only 3 in the last 6). In the last 10 games, Duke outscoring teams 73-10 in the 3rd quarter.
A QB change isn't going to change the fact that they have one receiver who can create separation, or that the one receiver is also their best running back.
Great defense! Aggressive DB’s and vicious hitting. This is not the defense we got used to seeing every week. USC couldn’t stop ND, but we did, regardless of that game’s outcome.
Our offense played about like I figured it would with Belin as quarterback. But man, our defense is about as good as I've seen at Duke!! I love the smash mouth play of our defense. You better beware FSU, here we come!! Hope Riley will be ready to go!!! GO DUKE!!!
