I also “respectfully” disagreed and he came back with his usual BS, least of all claiming if we want to slobber all over someone. The disrespect was started by the person you’re defending.
If you want to give this mod thing more weight than it’s worth, by all means please do, but don’t come chastise me. Just like all of you can bring your noise, I can do the same. I will gladly relinquish my ability to click ban, lock and delete, if it means I get to throw out the trash when need be.

nobody’s getting trashed here. There is actually stuff to this and some folks know things they don’t want to share (not me btw) but they do
I enjoyed bagley at times I was actually being funny with the bagley$ post but people can have different opinions on him
I was really referring more to the game threads when people say a player sucks or brings nothing or K just rolls it out there. A little off best from the original topic, but I’ll stand by what I said about Bags. I would be thrilled to have him at the 5 next year!

I didn’t say anything to Timo. We had a respectful exchange then he come in with a “Thats the real Mac.” You are as guilty of what you cry foul about as I have been.

Seems to me like it went off the rails when people (with no factual evidence, no link, nothing other than disproven comments) made some negative comments about a former Duke player.
That’s just how I see it though.
It’s also funny how Bag$ gets thrown out. If we’re all being honest, our pride and joy and favorite son Zion has the most questions/rumors surrounding his recruitment and possibly what the family asked for from other schools. But I’m not gonna throw out $ion everytime I get the chance because that’s just idiotic.

I loved Carter too. I made the comment a couple times that I would love to have seen how it would have worked if we played carter and bags at the same position and rotated them in and and out to keep them both fresh. And that I thought that might also let Duval play more to his strength. Oh well, we’ll never know now

Oh I never thought we were friends. I’ve seen that thoroughly since last year when you got pissed off at me and it’s carried on. I really couldn’t care less though. I don’t hold a grudge against any poster and once this thread ends I’ll be fine talking other stuff with everybody on here and never give it a thought. That’s the thing though I can argue with someone on this one and love their content on another, (most) everyone on here offers great stuff on different areas and I love it

When it becomes political (even when some of your comments i may or may not agree with) i need to delete them. That’s the direction we were given by DI. So let’s move off of that talking point.

But i think, and coming from what i know about that team from folks in the program, putting the blame on bagley for the things going on with that team is just misinformed. I’m fine with differing opinions even when you’re wrong but saying he was the chemistry issue (my words not Macs) is just not true. I could say the same, and have, about the folks who say Austin was the issue on the 2012 squad. The issue wasn’t him. It was miles and seth.

Tend to agree a bit with the mods need to be better concept. As uncle Ben said, with great power comes great responsibility. Well, with a little responsibility, comes a little extra responsibility. In the end, I appreciate the solid job the mods on this board do.

In reality, he was an A student and K said his family was great, and never had any discipline problems while at Duke.
In the end, I think Marvin was a true Dukie but looked more like a guy we expected to see on 91 UNLV, which had a much worse rep than they deserved.

Fair enough Timo. I realize I’m in the minority on Bagley. I’m fine with it though. I laid out my reasons. They are just my opinions. I go back to the timing of his signing, and I may be wrong, but I thought he was cleared by the NCAA when the team would have been down in the Dominican. Then, in my opinion, I thought we played better team ball in his absence. We went 5-0, 6-0 if you count Michigan State, without him.
Believe it or not, my views are not a vendetta against Bagley, as much as they are with my believing we had better chemistry when he didn’t play.
Offensively, he’s at the top of the list of Duke players. To me, Carter was a more rounded player, but doesn’t get the credit.

Wow, the only thing that chaps my ass about the 2018 season is, other than G's shot rolling out, that.....IT WAS A CHARGE. Never one to complain all that much about refs costing us a game. But, the '04 Final Four against UCONN and that '18 Elite Eight against Kansas are two that get me. Oh and we were definitely a better team with Marvin.
I don’t disagree. But this is a debate that’s been had over and over and over on this board. Posts #7 and #8 in this thread got it started. They knew what they were doing. From there, it got out of control and I don’t think Hokie would deny it.
