OT: Sports trivia part 2.

I think I know it. I'm from the Chicago area, and am familiar with the guy Peterson, who murdered his wife, with the case getting national attention. It was reported that he was a classmate or teammate of Mickleson in high school. Pretty sure his first name is Scott?

I think you are correct also. OFC

Scott Peterson murdered his pregnant wife Laci and unborn child right before Christmas 2002.

The corpses washed ashore a week or so later.

dtodd, you're up.

Reggie Jackson's 3 home runs in a World Series game was even more amazing because he did it against 3 different pitchers on the first pitch of each at bat.

Who were the 3 victims ( all established names with solid careers) who served up the historic 3 first pitches to Mr. October?

Hooten gave up the first, and Hough the last. The 2nd guy was a longtime workhorse reliever, who played for a number of teams.

I don't think I will ever get it. I'm out I guess. It's uncle time for me. OFC

2 out of 3 is enough. Elias Sosa was the other guy. Good solid journeyman with a couple years as a closer, but the setup workhorse type for most of his long career.

3 pitchers, 3 pitches, 3 homers.

You are up sky.

After Moses Malone became became a star going straight from high school to the ABA, what player followed directly after him going straight from H.S. to the pros, but became a cautionary tale for other aspiring high schoolers wanting to make that leap, even though he did have nearly a decade NBA career mostly as a journeyman?

Bonus question what coach and school was heartbroken when Moses went pro, instead of attending their university?

In the 1980 NBA draft, the Celtics had the number one pick, but traded it away for picks that turned into Robert Parish and Kevin McHale, who as we all know had decent careers in Boston. Their first overall pick was traded to Golden State....who did the Warriors draft?

Boy, this off season really IS dull! Over 1600 replies to sports trivia?

Then liven it up then. Start a thread that is not dull like this trivia thread. Looking forward to what you come up with. OFC

Considering how long you’ve been a member you should be used to this board being slow in the offseason. If not for this thread I probably wouldn’t post more than 5-6 times between now and the start of the season but at least this thread gives us something fun to do on the board for the 4-5 months until the season starts.
