OT: Sports trivia part 2.

I'm getting ready to go to bed. Yes it's bedtime for this old timer. I would like for this to be answered by day break because I will be out of contact all day so here's some more hints. It's an A&M school but he was never an Aggie. He was however a reptile that is well known in the state of the Aggies. Ssssss. OFC

Name Duke's starting 5 to open the 2009-2010 season.

I know Zoubek wasn't in there to begin the season, he exploded at Maryland late in the year and stayed in the lineup, so I'll say:

Scheyer, Smith, Singler, Thomas, Plumlee

This is a little bit of a trick question, I believe. I know for certain that Nolan had to sit out the first game of that season....so he wasn’t in the starting lineup. (Didn’t he play on some summer league team or something that he shouldn’t have?)

So Singler, Scheyer, Thomas and Plumlee are four. The other is of Polish descent....Olek Czyz. I remember him playing somewhat decent too. Five weeks later he transferred.

You got it! Olek Czyz started the first two games of the year.

As far as him transferring, I was at the Gardner-Webb game, which was the last game he played at Duke. He was playing very poorly on the defensive end and K took him out and chewed him out a bit. Olek look defeated and he never returned to the game. We had walk-ons playing at the end of a blowout game... and no Olek. I think he struggled mightily with his confidence.

Who was the only member of Cincinnati’s ‘Big Red Machine’ of the 1970’s to be born and raised in Cincinnati?

Yep. I thought that might be to obvious. You’re up.

I actually remember Rose being from Cincinnati. Normally, I go for someone less obvious (ie Andrew Bynum instead of Pau Gasol).

Two of the great MLB players in the 1990's were born in Cincinnati. One of them won the Rookie of the Year award sometime in the 90's - and the other one won an MVP award sometime in the 90's. Who are these two Cincinnati natives?

Who was the batter of the infamous Jose Canseco misjudged fly ball that resulted in a home run after the ball bounced off the head of Canseco?

That's a tough one. If you don't already know the answer, you may not get it. I've seen the video before... but it's been a while. Part of me wants to say Julio Franco.

They showed this on SC or a Mariners game over the weekend. I can picture the batter in my head but can’t place him or the team. I wanna say a Blue Jay or Mariner player.

I was a huge Jose Canseco fan when I was a kid and I remember when this happened because I’m always talking about how it’s one of the funniest moments in baseball and I’m annoyed that I can’t remember who the batter was

I know it’s the father of current Cardinal Jose Martinez. I’m hoping that he’s Jose Sr., but I think I might be wrong.

Not I, i just verified w/research. I yield to Gilljet or DukieJay. I am sure either will have a good question- or each put one out there....Whatever Sky thinks- hes our leader here in trivia protocol.... OFC

Serge Ibaka was born in what country? Internationally, he played for another country. Name both.
