Have we brought in another kicker or punter? What If Todd or the Aussie punter get hurt or go through a sustained slump? I think special teams are critical and obviously did us not favors this past season (Todd did have some nice kicks down the stretch after the SMU debacle).
I’m not so worried about Todd, unless he gets injured - that was why he went into his “slump” (well, that and one kick where our guys forgot to block). Same with punting - Reynoldson was consistently good all year. But I agree that having at least one backup PK would be a good idea, but IMO it’s not a position to use NIL money or a scholarship on.

So as of right now, the ACC is 1-7 in bowl games, Syracuse’s win being the only victory. And at the moment, State is losing to ECU. Not very impressive, to say the least, and it supports the season-long notion that ACC football is becoming second rate. I know bowl games don’t necessarily reflect a team’s strength, due to the transfer portal and players sitting them out to not jeopardize their pro chances, but jeez. And I have to confess that I’m not optimistic about our chances in the Gator Bowl (but I’m still going!).

this is a really really good pick up.
the kid from okla has tons of potential if fully healed from his injury but this kid has a huge and proven track record.
108.4yds per game led ivy and 2nd in fcs
1084 yds per game led ivy
11 tds led ivy
17.2 yds per catch
will have 2 years left
this kid had lots of P5 offers coming out of high school. had a composite of 88 (high 3 star) on 247
had offers from purdue, kansas, arkansas, va tech, utah, nebraska, zona st, oregon, notre dame and ucla plus lots of ivy's

think we are still looking for one more WR

and FYI star thomas is playing in the bowl game

Uh oh seems to be a change on the Star Thomas front. Was originally going to play but now looks like he is not. At least he isn't quitting mid game like the Miami QB did yesterday

For better or worse, there’s not much film on Henry, so OL Miss may have trouble figuring out the best way to attack him. Last year it was pretty clear that his strength was the RPO, which he often ran himself, but I’d like to think that his passing game has improved. He does have a strong arm - can he make the right reads and throw it to the right place? He does have some really good targets, which should help. Also, we all have fretted about Murphy’s inability to extend plays - that won’t be a problem for Henry. Another good thing for us is that, compared to many of the bowl teams, we haven’t gotten decimated by the portal or soon-to-be-pro absences, and that’s not a knock on Murphy or Thomas.

So I thought that game really showed what areas we need to improve/get better at. We are small. Our lines Got handled. We were not able to run the ball. Technically we gave up no sacks but Belin was under pressure all night and had to throw the ball away a lot. Our front seven could not stop the run. We did get 3 sacks but
in general our pass rush was stymied. Our dbs gave up over 400 yds in passing. I say all this but I REALLY like this team. Ole miss was a playoff level team and now we see what is needed.

so Bryce Davis was at the under armour game this week. he got to play a few plays in the game but was not a factor in the game. however, he evidently made an impression in the practices. per article on 247
Pleasant Surprise: Bryce Davis
''Davis proved to be one of the most complete pass rushers on hand & was able to consistently generate pressure. he appears to have added some good bulk since we first saw him at under armour future 50 camp & has the skill set to thrive in Manny Diaz's aggressive defense which sets the table for its edge players.''

He was really impressive in the state championship game. He was making plays both sides of the field and kept pressure on the QB
