OT: Sports trivia part 2.

With the Raptors trying to punch their ticket to the Finals for the 1st time in their history, who was the Raptors 1st ever draft pick for their franchise .

In ‘94 we met Arkansas in the NCAA championship game. Arizona played them in the first FF game... I think ‘Zona would have won that game if a terrific 3pt shooter named Damon Stoudamire didn’t shoot 2/15 from behind the arc. (2/15 is an estimate, not sure on exact fgm/fga)

Damon Stoudamire final answer.

The Raptors drafted second, ninth and fourth in 1996, 1997 and 1998, respectively. Can anyone name those picks?

Hint....one would become a defensive stalwart, another would make seven All-Star teams, and one would play 16 years in the NBA after being a NPOY in college.

I know one of them is Marcus Camby

If @GillJET doesn’t post a question in the next 30 minutes then I think you should go ahead and post a question (if you’re still online.) Not trying to step-in and suggest you steal his thunder but just for sake of keeping things moving since you both contributed to the answer.

BP you're a gentleman and scholar sir, as is GillJet. Appreciate!! However both of you guys good buddies, don't want to go out of protocol. Hopefully he will check in soon. It is a lot of fun! :D OFC

Sorry for the delay.

Stan Musial had 3,630 career hits. How many came at home, and how many came on the road? You must come up with the exact number for both.

No problem GJ, good question. I will go with even split: 1815 at home and 1815 on road...

That’s it Hart. Not much of a trivia question. More of a fun fact about Stan the Man.

Good question just lucky guess! Started to go w/2000 at home or away....

A very bitter basketball coach in a swipe at Duke once said "We don't do Rent A Player." Name the coach, his team, and when he said it... OFC

The answer to this is on the tip of my tongue but I can’t think of his name if it’s who I’m thinking of. I believe it was the head coach of Wisconsin that said it at some point during or after the 2015 championship game.

Diehard good job, and thats good enough for me! It was indeed Wisc HC Bo Ryan after we defeated the Badgers for the '15 title! OFC

You are up sir!

This is a 2 part question.

1) Which 2 players battled it out and both beat Roger Maris’ single season home run record?

2) which of those 2 players also beat Roger Maris single season home run record the following season?

Sammy Sosa and Mark McGwire.
Mark McGwire. OFC

You’re correct one the first part also correct on the second part based on the way I worded the question because I’ve had this question in my head for a few weeks while I’ve been waiting for a question that I knew the answer to. Since I worded thx second part of the question wrong I’m going to give it to you so you’re up sky.

Didn't they both go past 61 the following year as well?
You’re right Sammy Sosa also hit over 61 home runs thd following seasons. I’ve been holding onto this question for a few weeks so I worded the question wrong because I only remembered Mark McGwire beating Maris home run record 2 years in a row.

Reggie Jackson hit a mammoth home run in the 1971 All-Star game that was estimated at 532 feet. It would have left the stadium but the ball hit the top of the roof. Name the stadium. OFC

The San Francisco 49ers moved into Levi's Stadium in 2014. Prior to that they had played in Candlestick Park since '71. Name the Niners home prior to that....

I do remember Chris Berman talking about it. Not sure of the spelling Keysar, Kayser or Kaisar Stadium, something like that... lol

Who is the only player to start at QB in a Rose Bowl, Super Bowl, and the Canadian Grey Cup (only won the Grey Cup, but piloted his teams to all three).
