It still amazes me that the thing that got them off is that the classes were available to all students. Thus, the rationale was that potentially all students' degrees were worthless and, therefore, no special treatment.

Mike is a one-of-a-kind idiot. Doesn’t surprise me in the least he would say it or think it. He’s not smart at all.

It just boils down to the fact that he hates Coach K and Duke so much that all he can come up with is statements like that. The whole board is like that. They feed off each other. Misery loves company. I guess as the old saying goes. I really don't understand why the few sensible posters they have hang around. They come over here and tell us how bad thr is yet they keep on posting there. thr is embarassing. The whole board is a joke and those of us who are banned are blessed. OFC

Even more so, I don't think that they intended to make those classes available to all students. Word got out and they could not keep some non-athletes from taking advantage of the situation. They got off not by some brilliant strategy but by the law of unintended consequences.

And mods have the ability to set the tone for a board. He is absolutely the reason why Gary and all his aliases are allowed to push every non raging UNC homer away. It’s not even worth starting conversation over there.

I actually think the sensible posters made a nice stand this past season. Gary barely posts anymore (aside from his Brief brief brief brief stuff), FTH stays in his own bubble that I assume is a mental institution, and people just make fun of Steat now.

Gary got destroyed in a ton of threads this year with his ridiculous slights of Coby White.

At least he nailed the Platek prediction.

Really? Roy has 3 natty's, 5 FF's, 9 ACC titles in 16 seasons.

I don't usually like being that UNC fan that comes on a Duke board to defend Roy but saying he's done "less" in any capacity is just factually incorrect.

you mean 3 ACC Titles right?

You mean take several OAD caliber players and keep them 3-4 years and help run an illegal program to support basketball, you mean that guy?

He slighted Coby? Lol. Dude was a straight baller and your most consistent player.

I'm cheating a bit because this wasn't THR, but deserves to be seen.

"Cole Anthony is a generational PG talent. He will have the same impact next year on college basketball as Zion did."

If that's their expectations for this kid he's gonna get crucified.
The only rational response to that idiocy is:

A Gem from Professor DSouth:

“Yeah but IMO K is a master at mis-direction, don't look at the man behind the curtain. He plays a soft non-conference slate and notice what he did to try to counter that, he plays bigger name teams in pre-conference either at Cameron or a duke friendly local like MSG. He really looks to play the bigger name programs when they look to have lost a lot from their prior season and he wants to play them very early, before they have really come together as a team. Example, they curb stomped Ky but look when they did that, very early before that Ky team had a chance to come together, K had the talent advantage. Got Michigan but again, got them early rather than late pre-conference. WHEN you play a big time program and especially those that lost a lot from their prior season means as much as WHERE and K maximizes both of those constants to his advantage. Realize, early in pre-conference play you see power programs drop games to lesser programs all the time, heck you have seen us lose to teams we should have beat by 30, early pre-conference is more about out talenting than later season becomes but those big time talented freshmen are still freshmen and thus late season struggle to play together when the heat gets really turned up. Early season, reason many major programs drop games to lesser programs is usually, those lesser programs have a bunch of seniors and play better as a unified team than one with a lot of freshmen. .

In contrast note how Roy goes about things, does not hesitate to play true road games vs any other program, has his teams play in front of extremely hostile, at time to me as if Roy looks to put his team pre-conference in extremely tough situations to forge them for later season. I swear at times I think Roy has on purpose pulled out players that are playing well in a game just to make it harder for his team and K is just the absolute opposite in that he will leaves his starters in a game up by 30 with a minute or 2 left.”

That would actually make sense if we hadn't advanced further in the tournament than them the last 2 years.
Coach K must be a genius too to know everyone’s lineups so far in advance, including his own, in order to schedule all of those blue blood teams knowing they will be depleted!

lol. Kentucky, Auburn, Gonzaga, Texas Tech. All four of those teams made it to the Elite 8, 2 made it to the FF, one made it to the title game. None of those games were at home.

Wait he actually thinks Roy sits players playing great to make it harder for his team to win?? I was under the impression his job was to win

He is absolutely correct. For example, in the round of 16 this past month, he had them sit at the scorer's table for 5 minutes while his scrubs dug a huge hole. Wait, I guess that challenge didn't work out too well for him...
