I doubt many of you younger guys have heard of 'Love Story', a movie (from the book of the same name) from 1970 (I was a HS senior). It was a chick flick, and was an incredibly huge hit at the box office...over a 100 million I believe...and that was something back then! And yes, I got dragged into going to it by my girlfriend at the time! Anyway, that is what I thought of when I saw Topp's post, and DJ's & Timo's followups. The 'tagline' fits perfectly imo.

I liked when he said that no coaches were polled in voting for tyus over jb, implying if they had JB would have been selected or preferred over Tyus. He literally might be the only “coach” in basketball that would have said that then, now, or in twenty years when looking at the two back then.

Know that they had Jordan and Worthy but they haven't had an all star in twenty plus years.They also equated Hansbrough to Laettner.They call him a bust but he was a 17 and 8 guy and made his first all star game until he ruptured his Achilles
China. But Flatarheel said he’s better than a number of guys in the league and should absolutely be there. Gary agreed with him.
Hell yeah, Topps, Laettner was on his way to having a terrific NBA career until the injury. Even with it he had a very solid career.

The one thing I hate about Message boards is the way many people feel emboldened to say things that they would not say to another face to face.Not trying to be a tough guy but where I grew up if you acted like many do on both DI and THR you would have a serious problem.
