Favorite THR Quotes....

I do not recall this one bit. More made up bulls**t from those clowns.

BillyL:
"Didn't K-Rat comment on Tyler Hansbrough being in the game in the later stages with UNC up after that HendoThug assault and faulting Roy for keeping him on the floor . . ?"

2DDIMOND:
"Yes, such a hypocrite, and we were only up 10 or 12 at the time."

We just got outplayed. Plain and simple. We didn't lose by as much as I thought, but still a poor performance. Hope it's a kick in the ass and a small wake up call to the team.

I'd agree, I was impressed by the Hoosiers. Just think though unc would have won if unc wouldn't have blown 14 assists set up by Berry.

I had to 'lol' at that. But yeah the Hoosiers wanted it more and they showed it tonight. Even the THR crowd more or less agrees with that notion. Though I do notice gary hasn't posted his stats yet. Should be interesting.

If I'm unc I don't really sweat this one, Indiana played great and at home. I'm anxiously awaiting the spin Gary puts out there about the game though, especially when Berry didn't have his normal game.

gary's "stats and stuff" for last night's game is up on THR!!! 't checked it out yet. Can't wait to see how many blown assists Berry had.

"No offense, but if you believe K sent in Henderson purely to knock Hansbrough out of the game you're crazy. There is no evidence to support that.

I don't care for K any more than the rest of you but he's not a sociopath. I don't think he's so evil that he would deliberately instruct one his players to do that."

"I do not agree with you. No way to prove it short of Henderthug "getting religion" and coming clean so moot point anyway."

The legend, gary-7, has spoken...

"...and as I posted earlier this one had all the makings of walking into a snake pit. It was, and we didn't get the job done. Stats
- The bad was obvious, as that's what it pretty much was on our end. When we got open shots we didn't convert. 39% from the floor and 59% from the line ain't gonna win you many ballgames, especially against a ranked opponent on their home floor.

- Justin had a good shooting night 7/13 FG, 4/7 3s. 3/4 FTs, as did Kennedy (5/9 FGs) when he wasn't being mugged. That's about it.

-Speaking of JJ, you can't ask for much more than 21 pts and 8 boards in a physical game like that.

- Only 2 Fast Break and 9 Secondary Break points. Not good.

- We did a decent job keeping them off the offensive glass (8 Off. Rebounds allowed) but team totals were 37 Rebounds each. Granted, with our poor shooting they had ample opportunity for Defensive Rebounds (29)

Stuff
- Roy went small down the stretch to step up defensive pressure with some success (but again we can see how much we miss Theo in those situations)

- Again, I want to see KW be more assertive on the offensive end. Passed up at least two open 3s.

- The killer sequence of the game came early, when Berry was called for 2 ticky-tack (phantom) fouls and forced to the bench at the 14:49 mark. Indiana proceeded to go off on an 11-2 run over the next 3:54 (which ended up being the differential of the game) and staked them to a 17 pt lead at 26-9. Roy then got away with putting JB back in for 7-1/2 minutes without picking up the 3rd and we outscored them 15-10 which got us back to what would end up being the half-time margin.

- We outscored them 38-35 in the second half but we could never make enough shots to get over the hump and make them have to earn it.

- I also figured going in we weren't gonna get any help from the home zebras. Welp, that was an understatement. It was pretty obvious Indiana's game plan was to be "physical" with our Bigs and they did and mostly got away with it. Again, expected... but at the risk of being politically incorrect, I would love to watch the replay with that crew and have them justify how Meeks didn't earn a single FT attempt with the pounding he was taking... and Hicks and JB only getting 6 FTs between them? Suffice to say double our 22 team attempts would have been more in order. That being said, the way we were shooting I'm not confident we would've made enough to win anyway

- Going in I figured the environment would be as hostile as one could imagine (it was), and Indiana would come out on fire (they did). I hoped we would be efficient and aggressive enough to overcome that (we weren't).

Bottom line, not a surprising loss, but still a disappointing one... Let's learn from it and get better."

Thread just started over there on Roy's comments about the Hole's lame ass home crowd environment. Here's Archer's two cents.

I couldn't agree more. With notable exception games, we have one of the most sedate home crowds in the country for a big time program. I think it's because we've had five and a half decades of sustained success and because of the seating arrangement of the Dean Dome. An apathetic sense of entitlement and poor seating arrangement don't make for a IU/KU/UK type of environment.

I can't help but SMH when some of our fans complain about empty seats in Kenan. Heck, even with 55 years of being a top 10 basketball program, we still have trouble filling the Dean Dome at times. And many of the fat cats sit on their hands for most of the game. But they financed the building so it is what it is.

Success has spoiled our fan base, pure and simple.

Archer brings up some solid points in the thread. The "fat cats" do have the seats close to the floor and they are almost always sitting and not making any noise. That does not lead to a real raucous environment. Like Archer said though, those cue tips flipped the bill for the Dean Dome.

That's it "success" Lololol but yet Duke, KU, UK, IU has phenomenal support? Makes sense right

UNC played exactly like we thought they would against a good team.
No home zebras, and some intensity from the other team, limit the cherry picks and wide open 3's for Berry and easy off.rebounding at least in the first half, and they are DOA. Hopefully all opponents will watch this game film, even though should have been obvious already.

Steat demeans the crap out of K and then gets all bent out of shape when we bash Roy for his ugly suits and the fact that he knew about the fake classes. Steat, if you are reading this, please take a long look in the mirror. You are a living meme of the delusional fan. You need some balance in your life.

soap choosing to believe that K told Henderson to intentionally injure Hansflopper. Going by his "assertion." lol.

It goes back to what I've been saying for a long time. Many of their claims against Duke are beyond baseless, but in their minds if they say it enough they start to believe it themselves because they want to believe it....not because it's true.

Just avoiding a ban is all. Got some views but not too much else in response to the Berry stat sheet stuffer.

Question gary and suffer the consequences!!! gary shows his undying love for Big Luke Maye. gary's "trained eye" tells him just how darn good Big Luke is...

Butterbutt44 said:
"Didn't play badly at all? Sure he hustles and gives good effort but that shouldn't be the standard for getting pt at this place. He cost us two points on the wide open air balled layup and air balled a three at a juncture we needed a good possession. Of course he himself didn't cost us the game but to say his minutes had nothing to do with the loss is disingenuous.

Also the fact that the lineup that in Maui had a plus 61 advantage over their opponents only played together for 26 seconds in that first half is mind blowing, and Luke was in during some of that."

gary-7:
So he missed a layup (which is probably a hangover from the ankle). Given the rust, Luke played ok and I would imagine graded out pretty well overall, and I expect he'll get back to form as his ankle improves. I also expect Theo will be a bit rusty when he returns. It happens. Luke is a very good basketball player, as any learned eye will tell you, and is, should and will continue to be a major part of the rotation. If you're trying to lay what went wrong in that game on Luke's minutes (other than our starters minutes being limited and our rotation affected by the officials) you are barking up the wrong tree.

And BTW, Maui means nothing vis-a-vis this game. This was a VERY different environment and game flow than anything in friggin Maui."

It always has something to do with the officials with certain members of certain fan bases. You can count on it win or lose. At this point do people take those seriously who always complain about the officiating? Or those that blame things that go bad on everything else except the offending party? (Yes this is meant for Gary. He seems to come up with a great deal of excuses as to why a UNC player didn't play well. Officiating being at the top of the list. Maye didn't play well. It happens. It is okay to admit a guy had a stinker of a game. I am fairly sure Maye is not liking how he played last night.

You know last season I had a thread where I had a running count of all the games unc has lost because of poor officiating against them. I researched their all time loss record and started from there. It was well over 700 so every time they lost last year I would just add to the number. The thing about it was I meant it to be funny but sure enough they whined every game they lost and attributed to the most part for because of the poor officiating. They even whined when they won if the game wasn't going their way. Like I said I started it for laughs but really they do blame the officials for every loss and then to top it off they start a petition to get the national championship overturned. You can't make stuff up like this. OFC

If I could translate...."you're wrong because I'm right. I'm right because I'm right because any learned eye (me) know that I'm right..."

Gotcha Gary
