I believe some of the behavior towards opposing fans on THR is disgraceful. Lightly giving someone shit for rooting for the other team is one thing, but I've never believed in hating someone simply for that reason alone. Especially on a damn message board.

He's probably a good man...just not very smart. He's also part of the reason THR is the way it is.

When it went from CarolinaBlue to TarHeelIllustrated. That's probably close to 10 years ago now. Back then there were tons of posters from CB and here that posted on both boards all the time. The CB mods were JVAllStar, ChapelHillMatt, and BlueEpidemic. Great guys who didn't think like crazy fans. They were phased out for mods who think like your everyday, lunatic fan. Most of the really good posters over there left within a couple years and things just kept going downhill.
The really bad divorce between the two boards happened when the whole Hansbrough/Henderson thing happened. The mods at THR just banned all Duke posters...who didn't even post over there. They just completely lost their mind. All of our mods from here were banned and we never even posted there after the mess.
I don't have to tell you that outside dialogue just isn't really accepted over there. Hell, as you know, even dialogue from UNC fans isn't accepted if it's not toeing the company line.

Didn't say he wasn't a good man. just said he was a tarheel fan and couldn't help it and it was his nature. I know he's battling cancer and I'm in the huddle with him praying and hoping he beats this thing along with our own gottgonow. That goes beyond basketball and the Duke/unc rivalry. And just so you know. I'm a Duke fan, I'm can't help it. It's my nature. OFC

Those were the good old days dukiejay. We went after each other for sure, but it was mostly done in good form. Both boards. Jvallstar was/is a legend.

CarolinaBlue became THR probably prior to or during the 2006-07 season.

LOL. They always talk about their "system". Like it is some top secret thing that nobody else has the pass code for. Best ever invented. ha haaaaaa.
That last part is my biggest beef with that board. I love our premium site and OOTB. But the policies on THR is partially why I come over here so often.

They got into it with gary's "mafia" and now they sleep with the fishes.
I think CHMatt will sometimes still post on Out of the Blue. JVAllStar hasn't been around for years, and I BlueEpedemic came out of the woodwork a while back but now it's been a while again that he's gone.
Gary with his standard "stats and stuff" from each game. This one was a little more optimistic in the blown assists category. As a reminder JB would be averaging somewhere in the neighborhood of 15.5 assists a game if it weren't for his teammates blowing all of his assists. This game it was only 5 blown for JB.

We should start a pinned thread on "games we should have won" and "shots that should have gone in". We'd have an even better team, haha.
Dbav hows about a thread named "points our injured players would have scored in the game or rebounds they would have had or blocks they missed on because they didn't play". We could also count the shots that our guys barely missed as one point because they usually make it.

I used to be in regular contact with CHMatt. I asked him to help me moderate the national board when that board went to being a free board and not a premium board. That was a few years back now and I haven't heard from him in a while. Those 3 that you mentioned, (former mods on THR) were not necessarily company guys. I wonder if that was part of the reason they no longer moderate over there? I know CH Matt had/has a lot going on away from the boards so his time may have been limited some.
Without guru gary-7 where would we be, what would we do. We as a Duke board need guru gary -7. Appreciate him. He has added so much to this board. OFC

I know we are doing amazing so far this year, but lets go ahead and count this season as finished and look ahead a few years. What an awful day for tarheel fans in football. Lost the victory bell, then lost to the Wuffies, and then aren't going to the ACC championship game now. They really must be steaming right now. Lol, love it!!
