Favorite THR Quotes....

Grayson might be known more as a slasher....I'll give DSouthr that. That said, he shot almost 42% from three last season. Just to give you an example, but since UNC's 2009 team where three guys shot 41% or better from three (Lawson, Green and Ellington), the Heels have had a grand total of one player have a better shooting season than Grayson did last year. ONE. That was Reggie Bullock in 2012-13 when he shot almost 44%.

(And I didn't count a couple of walk-on's who were 2-for-4 one season. Let's just say they had to have a minimum of 20 three-point attempts on the season.)
Allen also shot in volume to get to that 42% number. The kid is a really good shooter and I can assure you that the plan is not to see Allen standing at the 3 point line with an open look. Allen is a better shooter than anyone on UNC's roster. Not really debatable at this point. Now, that could be proven wrong when some of those guys who have shot so little in a game that matters start getting chances, but until then we can only go with the facts that are in front of us.

Kind of a funny thread at Inside Carolina if anyone wants to take a look.

Wow. I love how the OP asks for facts, not speculation, before posting this:

I am under the impression that several players, if not close to all of them majoring in Sociology, enroll in online classes at NCCU. Also very low SAT scores (700-900) do not impede their progress in earning a Bachelor's degree from dook in roughly 3 or 3.5 years.

Classic. Despite a credible report from the closed scrimmage, gary says its inaccurate because he talked to a player....

Man the way that gary thing was posted messed me all up. What is he talking about there?

A UNC source posted details about the UNC closed scrimmage and that UNC won by 10 or 11. Gary says the guy was wrong and UNC won easily by 20+. The the UNC mod told Gary that AJ is usually very solid with his information. To which Gary responds what I quoted..

From steat:

Rumor has it that Vanilla Whip (Grayson Allen) slightly injured his shoulder in the exhibition game the other night. The real question is whether a shoulder injury would throw off his balance and compromise his trip game. That could be a problem for him.

As usual steat being a jack a*s

i overestimated Steat. I thought he may have an original thought or two. Alas, I was wrong.

"Vanilla Whip", what a loser. And here's yet another showing how absolutely pathetic and bitter Steat is as a person. Good for dadika for actually calling him out on it. They all like to claim how they only failed to get Ingram because that darn scandal. He was actually dying to go there! Lol. Whatever makes ya feel better, I guess.

"My first NBA rookie update on Duke's great OADs. Brandon Ingram coming off the bench averaging 6 pts a game (16 minutes) after 3 games. A top 2 NBA pick coming off the bench for one of the worst teams in the NBA last year. Great start for the projected Rookie of the Year....."

dadika:
You have to relax. It's 3 games and you're calling a kid a bust? Would you be doing this if he went to UNC last year (as he would have if we didn't have the NCAA mess)...

MJ shot 5 for 16 in his first game...good thing you weren't coaching the Bulls in 84-85 or he would have been benched."

dadika:
Say whaaa? Allen shot 42% while averaging 6 attempts per game from 3. That's the definition of a shooter.

Arguing that we (with our enormous struggles shooting the 3 last year) are going to be a better 3 point shooting team than a loaded Duke team this year is just making us look bad.

Defending Duke freaking sucks but you guys make us sound uninformed and irrational as a fan base. Give them credit for what they are and hope like hell that we kick their butts twice this season.

Ask steat how that scary crop of UNC OAD players are doing. Shouldn't take but a second or two to give us those stats. The list is very short and not full of big numerals.

Glad Steat is judging Brandon Ingram after he's played 3 total NBA games and one of which he got hurt.

From RR. kyups "Didn't want Bolden" because he looked like a Dukie. Lol. How is K, in any way, trying to insinuate that Paul George played at Duke?? Talk about paranoid/inferiority complex.

https://kentucky.forums.rivals.com/threads/so-did-paul-george-play-at-duke.215359/
I saw that thread! All K was doing was comparing Knox to George and those morons as usual take everything out of context when it refers to Duke! It's really quite sad that Duke is always on their mind. I'm so glad I didn't fall for that Go Big Blue crap growing up here.

Look at this, yet another, clown in total denial. Some clown at Inside Carolina. The academic scandal is the most "lolzworthy" story in the history of sports??!!! Ha haaaa, wtf can you even say to this level of denial/stupidity??

Re: Anyone know how the hearing today went?
Saturday at 9:43 AM

"This whole shenanigan has been the most lolzworthy story in the history of sports ever.

NCAA can go unkindly consume a !@#$."

Thought I would just put this here since it isn't worth starting a new thread for. It is from an ESPN article with Cal. Since when did the Holes beat him out for a recruit?? If Justin Jackson was it then I would think he doesn't give a s**t about missing on him now. But he says "a few to North Carolina" Find that hard to believe.

"We've missed on a few kids to them. But we've missed on a few kids to Kansas, and we've missed on a few kids to Michigan State, and we've missed on a few kids to North Carolina, and we've missed on a few kids to Syracuse. We don't get every kid. Just how it is."

Pretty interesting quote in that same article.

"Kentucky's pitch was just the NBA thing," said Hamidou Diallo, ranked 11th in the 2017 class by ESPN.com, during an interview with the Louisville Courier-Journal. "Duke's pitch was, if you come to Duke, you're going to be set for life. It's more than just basketball. [John Calipari's] pitch was he gets guys ready for the next level."

Ha haaa....

"I hate Duke," said Lincoln Hendricks, a 32-year-old Kentucky fan and sales executive. "I've got the shirt that says, 'I still hate Laettner,' and I do. I bet we hate Duke more than Duke cares about us. I don't think that we're on Duke's radar. I think Duke talks about [North] Carolina quite a bit. But I don't think ... we're not relevant [to them], and I think that pisses us off. They ought to hate us because we certainly hate them."

I am not sure this is completely true, but it is sure completely funny!

I love how Gary is pitching a hissy fit over there because he got called out for disputing the final score from their secret scrimmage that their insider reported. Apparently Gary has better sources than people who are paid to be close to and report on the program. He really has a high opinion of himself.

The people who stand up for that clown are pathetic. I mean it is one thing to be an insecure sensitive egomaniac. It is quite another to go to the mattresses for that person when said person is a regular tool. I would say at most a handful of people on that board have ever met Gary, which means that they have no idea who he even is. To blindly support a person you only know over the internet because he drops vague fictitious info that is so cryptic that there is almost always some form of plausible deniability is again pathetic.

I just saw der Keysor refer to AFAM as a rogue academic group that tricked the athletics department. That was simply amazing.
On that note, this post by @DSouthr is hilarious:

I think it is as simple as asking do you want UNC to continue to be a program that trys to do the right thing or is it acceptable to get down in the mud and do what ever it takes? When I look at things that way it gives me an appreciation for Roy and how he goes about what he does, with grace and integrity. I will take that any day over the dirty slickster nonsense going on at the one & done factories without regrets.

And this is completely baby blue homer bullsh!t by @DSouthr . Speculating about nefarious recruiting tactics by Duke and Kentucky simply because we are able to land top-flight OAD talent:

First, last I checked Roy has recruited the top 15, he has recruited the top 10 and the top 5. But there are some things Roy is not going to do that other programs will in order to get those top best of the best. AND for the record I am perfectly fine with Roy doing things his way, I would not be fine at all to see kalipari become UNC head coach. Nor do I want to see Roy take the Team USA gig and milk it for a decade in order to have an extra advantage not granted to others.

Good Lord, I guess reading is hard. I said there is conflicting info out there (which is normal) and then explained why that's normal. Post something that doesn't match the sacred "premium" and you'd think I was talking about someone's momma. SMDH.

This place has finally jumped the shark. I'll just keep the team intel (that I'm fortunate enough to get) off-board from now on. Carry on."

What is gary's big issue over the score of a scrimmage? Is it because he didn't like hearing they only won by 11 or whatever? Someone that gets paid and was supposedly there tells the score and because it wasn't a 25 point blowout gary makes something up to make himself feel better?

TPFKAPFS. Yes, we know, the Holes invented the whole FAMILY thing. Make me puke....

"Don't feed the trolls and don't engage when peeps insist on making every thread am argument. Some of us understand the Carolina Way and how to treat Family!

Go Tar Heels!"

Some of them get very defensive when their precious opinions and actions are questioned. gary will get over it and do this all over again very soon.
