How about ponarkel? I thought he was a great poster. Maybe the best we have ever had on here. Always dead on with his insight , wisdom and humility. I think he might have left because a certain poster or two would call him "pornarkel." I think also he was a sensative guy. Those of you who weren't posting here missed something special. OFC
I mean... I'll just say it. I wonder if some of these people suddenly died.
They should post on here before they die so we are not wondering what happened to them...
What ever happened to the posters that only showed up when we start a game flat? I miss them.
First thing I thought of. How would you ever know. I am going to put instructions in my will for someone to post that I am officially dead and will no longer be posting on DI. It will be under the section of my will which includes,A) delete any and all internet search history and B) The finder of contents of the shoebox in the top left on the closet should be smoked with great caution and copious amounts of funions and rootbeer.

I'm sure some missing posters have died. I've told my oldest daughter that when I die to post it here so everyone will know that I just didn't leave. Of course she's going to have her hands full, so whether she'll remember I don't know.

I remember one time there was a thr poster that began to post here. At the time things had heated up between this board and thr. The thr poster said he never would post anything derogitory about any of us here and never had. He was somewhat bothered by what OFC meant and said he thought it meant we were " of finer class" which was bull. Anyway I can't remember how it exactly came down but he said he always respected me and never had said a bad word about me. Anyway in steps Gastineau and pulls a post that this had posted about me on their out of the blue board . In so many words he called me a c=@t ( but he spelled it out) and a p.o.s. .I think it was Gas or maybe Laettner found it and posted it here. The thr poster really didn't have a leg to stand on. He apologized then but like the Ky. big mouth woman it was still there. He never deleted it. It was recorded. I'm trying to remember his nickname. unc34 or something like that. He hasn't been around for a while but that was Gas for you. He always had your back. Last post by Gas I remember seeing was on the college basketball board and it was pure Mark Gastineau. OFC

I'm sure he will, Sky. He knows how well you're loved on here. But let's hope that's a looooong ways off yet.

Heyman was on up there in age I know. Health could have been an issue. I don't see him post in our local high school football forums anymore. He was a huge Tarboro High football supporter and I graduated from their biggest rival. We traded barbs from time to time. Never knew him personally.

Heyman is fine. He's still doing Tarboro games and host a radio show with east coach beach music from a resturant called Ribeyes. On face book everyday he puts up some pld music, Mo-town, Soul and even some bee bop and teen idol songs. I've urged him to comeback and post but so far he hasn't. I do think he checks us out everynow and then. No major health issues I know of but he indicated he did not like the way board was going with someof our more critical posters and he hates the one and done to the point he did not want to discuss them. He's an old school Duke fan hince his nickname and sticks by his guns and convictions. Miss him on the board but enjoy staying in contact with him. Wish he would drop by just to say hello and set things straight every now and then. OFC

Show wasn't Devilicious at a CTC several years back with you and Spike? Or did he come with DukeHokie? And we all met at the restaurant (forgot the name of it then but was in the Bryan Center).. Man now I am thinking back to all the CTCs we have been to. Good times.
This is just a guess.. but I blame social media for some of the lack of people posting here. I know myself used to post here a lot more 10 years ago when I wasn't using Twitter as much than say I have in the last 5 years.
I think people have joined Duke Facebook groups and used Twitter to discuss sports.
Social media sites such as Twitter and Facebook are good to use but they will never be able to replace what has been built here at DI over the years. I see this site as far more of a community than what you get with the social media sites.

Oh man forgot about devilicious. For a while he was on the premium board only.
I’ve given thought to posters passing away.
Likely what happens is they become distracted with life and then maybe some have died. I need to tell my wife to post on here if I die. I don’t know how much longer we’ll have this board or how long I’ll continue to post here. I never have any intention of leaving tho.

Devilicious and Bludvls1 posted here a lot. They actually came to one of my ACC parties one year and we had a blast, both good dudes, licious brought his dad and his dad gave my Tarheel buddies straight up HELL. I loved it. Bludvls1 has a killer sense of posting humor.

I’ve been a member of a few different Duke Facebook groups over the years but I was never a member of those groups for very long because there were way too many trolls that were getting invited/accepted into the group that weren’t actually Duke fans and joined the groups just to troll Duke and even some of the actual Duke fans were pricks.This is just a guess.. but I blame social media for some of the lack of people posting here. Probably so. I do think I embarrash him with some of my post but that's whst fathers do. Proud of him. Even if he is my son he is a very good poster and got banned from the get go. I was so proud when he posted about being tombstoned. That's my boy.
