Oakfor is to much of a libality at the foul line. How can you possibly keep him in the game late. He has absolutely no confidence at the line. Brey had ND ready K an Duke the exact opposite.This is a horrible loss. Again Jefferson an Oakfor are just big libalitys at the end of a tight game. This was not a horrible loss. This was like an elite 8 game. We just need to play with urgency to start every game in March. The other team will.

While this isn't an E8 game, it is a bit concerning that no one on this team was engaged for the better part of the first half. Maybe they just thought it was going to be as easy as the State game but that's where Duke has lost to Mercer and Lehigh too.
This clearly was not a championship effort, but that has been the exception more than the rule with this team, as a 29-4 record against their schedule would indicate. They still have as good a chance of a run as anyone besides UK.

This stuff happens! Its freaking basketball... it can be hit or miss. The objective of the game is quite difficult and can simply lead to sporadic results.
In regards to Duke... we do need to start fast. When Okafor can be the closer we are super tough. Playing from behind we have to rely on other guys. Tonight some of those other guys were just a tiny bit off. Quin and Tyus both played below par tonight... that will be rare. I don't this ND or anyone has us figured out... they just played well and we started poorly.

Nothing worse than seeing your team just totally throw up all over themselves in a big game.
If Duke plays anything other than their worst half of the season in that first half, they probably win the game. Notre dame also finished an absurd amount of 3 point plays.
Okafor's foul shooting and Jefferson's complete inability to do anything on offense are killers though.

There is nothing that can be done about the foul shooting but I fail to understand why Amile doesn't even look for the basketball.
Losses are never a good thing. But you almost have to make them one. We hadn't lost in over six weeks....tonight our guys got a fresh taste of what it feels like. The only good part about it? The season isn't over yet. Use it as motivation now.
Don't make any bets on Duke not making it. During this streak Duke has been able to turn it on at will, and I think the guys just thought they could flip the switch. Now they know they can't. We'll be better for it imo.

Duke has won at least twice this year. We can do it. Just a bad night tonight. Shake it off and lets finish strong.
I very rarely post on this board but I check it multiple times a day. I promised myself I wouldn't after tonight's loss because of something like this but I couldn't help it. Was this a good game? No. I love that this team didn't throw it the towel at halftime, though. We cut it to four points after a large deficit. Quinn missed quite a few shots thatI thought were money because of him hitting them all season. Had he shot close to what he has all season, it's a Duke win in my opinion. I still think this team makes the Final Four regardless of who we play. They have the same fight they've had all season. It just wasn't a great night. Now it's on to March Madness. Go DUKE!
If you can't objectively see that this team thinks they have secured a 1 seed and mailed in tonight's game you need to watch more hoops. They may be right or they may be wrong but this team played with zero urgency tonight. I don't like their approach but I have no choice but to move on to the tourney. Go Duke
You know i keep thinking maybe im just misinterpreting some folks on here but goodness fellas i have never experienced on message boards anywhere near what i read on here especially towards fans of the same program. Seems like theres numerous posters here that constantly disagree in such a negative way to someone elses thoughts only because those thoughts don't align with their own... Can you imagine how a member of a sports team would feel if he or she said something or had an opinion that other members of that team constantly reacted to in a negative fashion. I for one feel that since we r fans in this together its absolutely necessary to strive to be as unified as we can. Theres absolutely nothing wrong with critiquing another members post, but being negative should be reserved for only specific situations. After all we are all dedicated fans and crazies of the greatest basketball program & school that our world will ever have. Just think we need to become more positive as a whole to strengthen the brother & sisterhood of all members. Ill finish by paraphrasing just one example i read, can you imagine how our guys would execute and play if just because we didn't like his post or because his thoughts didnt line up with ours that we recommend he transfer to a different team... i for one want to do whats in the best interest of our fans so that we can have as many diehard & loyal fans as we can get...
Duke was just on a 12 game winning streak. Not the end of the world that they lost a game. And maybe it keeps them focused considering we have 4 freshmen and going into the NCAAs on a 14 game winning streak may have caused them to be too comfortable as we saw tonight. They most certainly can make the Final Four.

At the end of the day I'm ok with it. 1 seed 2 seed if it's meant to be it's meant to be. I just wish our guys had a little more pride to secure an ACCT title there is no argument that can be made that shows that the team tonight cared about winning this tournament
What a stupid thread!!!! We are still one of the best teams in the nation! And like everyone has said just came off a 12 game win streak, against really good competition... Now we just need six more and we win it all. I really think we have a great chance and if we do not make the final four I will be very disappointed! People should deff wait till the next morning and see if they wanna post this crap, cuz I assure you things look brighter after a little time! Go Duke! I still believe
I think Cook was wanting it too bad and was forcing. It seems that Okafor is taking more time at the line and should do like Mason and just step up and shoot without much thought. He has a good looking shot but hits the back iron a bunch.
I agree king. The big guy has great touch but he has the yips at the line. It is truly mental at this point. You can see him firing up different arcs and angles everytime he shoots. It kills me because if there is a weakness in his game, he works tirelessly to make it a strength. But he cannot shake this mental block.

That being said, I don't see this team getting past the Sweet 16 (Elite 8 if everyone is somewhat healthy). The D isn't there, unless k wants to go zone in near entirety, something that won't happen. I've been wrong plenty before though, so who knows.

This is exactly why I don't like to come on here after a loss. All the negative posts after a twelve game winning streak ends. We are a final four caliber team. Did we lay an egg last night? We sure as hell did, but this is my team and I am behind them 100%. I am going to give my heart and soul cheering them on. Come on guys let's get behind them. It's a new season now. A six game win streak and we cut the nets down. Let's not be downer Dans now. This team needs us, and I refuse to give up on them now. Give em hell Duke. I truly believe this team is special and will make the final four. Anything can happen after that.
