Is looking better each day. I mean, it’s a sub 100 loss (per KenPom) but they’re currently 11-2 and ranked 145th on KenPom. I’m not sure where they rank in other rankings, but that loss may not haunt us as first thought.

It would still suck if that ends up being our only loss of the season, but it’s looking better each day IMO.

Lol would it suck? I'd love that to be our only loss of the season. Means we ran the table and got #6.

Regardless, I get your point. SFA is on par with like a BC, GT, or Wake. So while still a bad loss, it's not insane to think about. Considering we should have lost to Wake at home last year.

No question, I would rather have #6 but if we go 39-1 and our only loss is a 2 point OT loss at home to SFA, I’m still getting my 40-0 tattoo, lol.

I really don’t feel bad about that game and I didn’t at the time. Both teams played very hard and we lost. When we give our best and still lose, I’m okay with it. Shots didn’t fall, mistakes happen and you learn from it.

I never thought in a million years we would have a shot at the #1 ranking again this season. Crazy season 4sure.
With the way #1 ranked teams have lost shortly after becoming #1 this season, I knew we would have a chance to move back to #1this season as long as we kept winning and if Gonzaga loses before we lose we’ll move back to #1 and we’d be the only team to be ranked #1 twice this season if we do reach #1 again.

Looking at Gonzaga's schedule, it's probably gonna be a while before they lose again.
Who cares about being #1? All that matters is we lock up a #1 seed.
Beating Kansas was huge because I'm gonna assume they will be batting for a 1 seed come March.
If we can take care of ACC business in January and most importantly beat Louisville (another 1 seed contestant) we should be sitting pretty and could even afford a couple February losses and still be a #1 seed.

You know even though we did lose to S.F.A . it ended up with just that the ball bounced S.F.A.'s way at the end. True the game should have not even been close. We had some really bad defensive laspses that game with all the lay ups they got but if we had picked up the ball and scored on our end we would be undefeated barring another upset. Even if we didn't score at the end of regulation I feel we would have won in OT. With all that said we wouldn’t even have this thread. We would be all excited about being unbeaten right now. Someone for sure would be talking 40-0 and of course we would have that #1 ranked curse upon us. But you know something. That's basketball for ya. Just a matter of the ball bouncing your or the opponents way can be the difference. I hate we lost but just maybe it taught us something. What'should that old saying "on any given night." OFC

I've moved on. About the only disappointing thing from that game is the end of the winning streak versus non-conference opponents. But even that was going to end at some point....I'm not sure losing to a better program, per se, was going to make me feel better. If nothing else, maybe that reality has propelled this group going forward.

If you were to say before the season that going into the Miami ACC game that we have 1 loss total, I think everyone would have signed up for that.
Between Kansas, @ MSU, @VT, and the 2 games at the Garden. I would have personally set our over-under at 1.5 losses.

I'm not worried about who we lost to. Is it really that much of a difference had we lost to Kansas but beat SFA? I don't know. I don't mind having the big wins and 1 surprising loss.

I don't know that Coach K would have such a good talking point if Hurt catches the last pass vs. SFA and scores. As it is, Duke will never take anything for granted.
It's much easier for a coach to drive home a message after a loss than a win. It hurt, but it was also a great teaching moment.

Are you looking at the loss through the Atomic Beam night-hero binoculars? Not turning on the green laser keeps it from sticking out so much. It helps me out, just thought I would share since I felt the same way lol.
I just found out why we lost that game. K was asked to wear a new potential apparel, Copper Fit Compression Boxer Briefs. It didn’t go well. Word is, he was in constant pain due to his testicles being compressed. He couldn’t even stand up to call a time out.

I haven’t even thought about that game since the Michigan state game. We were never going undefeated and lately I feel great about this team, so for me, that loss is a distant memory
Me too. I’m excited as hell about this team and I’m gonna enjoy the ride instead of worrying about what K should’ve done differently in that game.

I don't think at all about that game. It made us better. We know now we have to bring it, no matter who we play. And it seems like we learned from. I believe we have something special in the making!!!!! GO DUKE!!!!
