Sexual orientation as a protection under the Constitution is a stretch. Gay rights have progressed faster than voting rights ever did! So hard to scream discrimination. Removing another religion's rights should not be the basis for granting what you think Gay rights are needed..but that seems to be the way the Gay rights movement wants to proceed.
And right to Adopt...didnt you just ask if someone was ok with letting their kids play with a friend who had two dads...so they most likely adopted right?
Repeating claims that have no basis in fact isnt a great way to support your point btw...see adoption example above.
I'm out but enjoyed the debate.
"Sexual orientation as a protection under the Constitution is a stretch." This is your opinion. The opinion of gay rights activists is exactly the opposite. Your question had to do w/ legal rights gay people wanted, not to name a right
you want them to have. I answered your question.
"Gay rights have progressed faster than voting rights ever did! So hard to scream discrimination."
This is called "what-about-ism." Instead of addressing the topic at hand, you are pointing at something else as a distraction and illogical comparison. I say good for our country that we're moving more quickly when it comes to rights.
Black people had the right to vote before women did. Is it therefore hard for Black people to "scream" discrimination, too? (The very phrase "scream discrimination" reveals your bias. It deliberately insinuates that it is frivolous.)
"Removing another religion's rights should not be the basis for granting what you think Gay rights are needed."
It has always been permissible to limit the manifestation of religion in certain ways. Religious business owners are not allowed to refuse to do business w/ Black people on the basis of religion. In many states, they can refuse to do business w/ gay people. If the changing the latter would be "removing another religion's rights," the former has already done so. Gay people believe they should be treated like the former.
Also, this is not about what *I* think is needed. As I have explained very clearly several times now, your question had to do w/ what rights gay people are fighting for. I answered your question. A right
you do not think they should have does not change the fact they are fighting for it.
"And right to Adopt...didnt you just ask if someone was ok with letting their kids play with a friend who had two dads...so they most likely adopted right?" This is like saying racism is over b/c we had a Black President. And the answer is not necessarily. I would venture a guess that in the great majority of 2 dad and 2 mom homes, one parent is the biological parent of the child and the other is a stepparent. With heterosexual parents, a stepparent may adopt their stepchild. That is not the case in many states when that stepparent is gay.
"Repeating claims that have no basis in fact isnt a great way to support your point" As I have explained very clearly several times now, your question had to do w/ what rights gay people are fighting for. I answered your question.
"I'm out but enjoyed the debate." It wasn't a debate. You asked a question. I gave factual answers. The end.
