The New Lounge

I don't recognize you, but way to play the I-have-a-Black-wife card, as if it's really that cut-and-dry. Your comment is very much in line with many of the other conservatives here.
It's the first time that I have commented on The New Lounge. I lost my taste for political and social discourse for a long time. Getting somewhat interested in it again. Please understand that I was being kind to the young lady when I suggested that it was a misunderstanding. I am starting to think that people are already backing away from the first interpretation of the situation. No witnesses and no cell phone video in an age where nearly everyone wants to be a social media sleuth leaves the mishearing suggestion as the best look for her, in my opinion.

Exactly. Look no further than the current POTATUS to see examples of the racism that exists today. Today's racism is isolated and mostly in passing. It's not rampant and life altering like the freaks on the left want to make it out to be. Are there millions of people who hold racist views? Absolutely, on all sides. But there is not this great white supremacy problem that they desperately want to make people believe that there is. The left has to have racism. They don't want to end it. Without racism, they would have to focus on other issues to manipulate minds over. That's why they jump on every supposed case of racism before knowing the facts. They build mountains out of molehills and then change the subject whenever the truth comes out. They truly are disgusting people.
Tawana Bradley, Michael Brown, Duke Lx, Duke Byu Volleyball, Serena at Indian Wells, countless others. Front page story until it turns about to be a hoax then it disappears like magic. Unfortunately lives were lost and countless businesses destroyed due to the Ferguson hoax

Good ol datt is the perfect example of liberals. They can't win on any real issue, and he won't have a decent comeback for your post.

The Duke lacrosse situation. Michael Brown an about 3/4 of all other supposed racial profiling cases with police. The fake noose in nascar. The poop swastika. The baseball example from earlier. The boyfriend at Kansas state that wrote the racist stuff on his own car. The black church vandalism that was a black church member. These were all national news and only a small example from off the top of my mind. It's hilarious to claim that it is very, very rare.
There have been exactly 50 Black church burnings since 1993. Exactly one of them was an inside job.
The "fake noose" in Nascar was real and looked exactly like a noose. It just wasn't.
Pictures were released of the poop swastika.
Yeah, fake vandalism at KSU: “I think the most frustrating thing is some people’s reactions to the news,” Clark said. “I heard a lot of ‘Turns out racism isn’t as bad as liberals think’ and the like. I think some community members will use the incident as an excuse to claim that racism on campus isn’t a pressing issue.” She got you there.
About 3/4 of other supposed racial profiling cases? Just making up stats now, huh?

5 examples spanning 35 years? lol
Y'all can't even distinguish between a hoax and a different perspective. What do I even need to respond to?

White conservative declares racism not that big a deal anymore.

Here's a novel idea @Dattier. How about all these cases of racism be taken on a case by case situation? Things could improve if we did that. But you're no more interested in the truth than I am jumping out of a perfectly fine plane.
The conservatives here that get your panties in a wad do a better job of calling it fairly. The problem is you don't, nor do you care about wanting the truth to be told. That's what makes everything so volatile. Which is how you libs want it.

Actual racism is a big deal. Problem is, you don't care about actual racism because it is inherently part of the political ideology that you subscribe to. That's why you continue to harp on the past and perpetuate falsehoods of the present. There is not a bigger group of racists than white liberals.

So the link proves what to your point? And the noose in nascar was not real. You even said it wasn't. Holy hell. It was a pull down rope just like on all the other doors. And the friggin fbi got involved. Lol. And the poop swastika was real, never said it wasn't. But it was done by a POS liberal trying to stir the racial pot that no other group of people do better.

If you cared about racism, you would decry it from every aspect of society. But you don't. There is a strong argument that the victims of the most violent and rampant racism today are Asians. But you don't care about that racism and we all know why. You're too caught up with perpetuating lies for your team, trying to paint white conservatives as evil and full of hate in order to control the weak minded fools who sheepishly vote democrat. You only care about social issues and couldn't care less about how the country is run economically. Which would be okay other than your warped and radical social views.

The rope was a pull down rope that happened to look like a noose. No one did anything wrong, including being triggered by the appearance.

No culprit was ever identified for the poop swastika.

I care about all racism, most of which is systemic and which you deny exists.

Truth be told, yes a black person starts a little behind in the opportunity department. It's not near as bad as it used to be though. But, you, like the rest of the libs, instead cling to things like it's still 1960. You just can't help yourself. Plus, you've been institutionalized. Being a lifer in education has made you very delusional to reality.

There's plenty of blame to go around. Maybe I'm wrong, but I've never heard you talk about the decay of the family. That's not just a black problem, but it is more of an issue than with whites.

As I said before, you've shown no interest in taking things on a case by case incident. Don't try denying it. Your posts when given examples are to laugh them off, or make excuses for why they were the deal they were.

You seem to be just like the rest of the libs: find a problem, then assign blame.

Truth is, people are overwhelmingly good. More than not, opportunity is equal. In today's America, the starting from behind can be blamed more on how you are raised and set up for success by your parents than on systemic racism. Progress represents moving forward and achieving goals. Yet progressives constantly focus on the past and refuse to acknowledge progress. They act like they need to be activists until racism doesn't exist in any form. Which will never happen so it's just another unachievable goal set by the left to assure it will always be in their wheelhouse of propaganda.

I do love how @Dattier is afraid to engage me. What’s wrong Dat? Scared to be abused into another mental health break?

The decay of the family hasn't happened in a vacuum, so acting as if it's a question of character and morality doesn't have any effect other than to marginalize people.

There's a pretty huge chasm between "not near as bad as it used to be" and "like it's still 1960."

Considering the extremist takes here about liberals and everything left of Senator Sasse being completely stupid, corrupt, evil, etc, why would you expect me to show any interest in discussing things on your terms?

Do you acknowledge systemic racism exists at all?

Instead of giving a thoughtful response, you did what I figured you’d do. You refuse to acknowledge racism has improved, that the decay of the family plays a huge part, and that minorities have a lot more opportunities than they used to. Instead, you take the low road.
You libs really don’t want things better. All you’re after is finding problems, and assigning blame.

Not even on a significant enough basis that it warrants a conversation. Can you point to where exactly it exists? Real examples, not false narratives and sensationalism.

Do you acknowledge that people are overwhelmingly good and that racism is overwhelmingly isolated and condemned by the vast majority of society?

Uhh... I guess I'll repeat myself:

The decay of the family hasn't happened in a vacuum, so acting as if it's a question of character and morality doesn't have any effect other than to marginalize people.
(As in, it's not enough to say "decay of the family" if that's just a dogwhistle for attributing it to personal failings and washing your hands of it. As in, you have to look at contributing factors.)

There's a pretty huge chasm between "not near as bad as it used to be" and "like it's still 1960."
(As in, I don't like to downplay ongoing racism by going along with the idea that it's "not near as bad as it used to be," yet I'm also not claiming it's "like it's still 1960." As in, there are a whole, whole, whole lot of degrees between those two things, and I have neither the expectation nor the need for us to agree on where the present falls on that spectrum. As in, I was giving you an out. As in, I was taking a high road.)

Considering the extremist takes here about liberals and everything left of Senator Sasse being completely stupid, corrupt, evil, etc, why would you expect me to show any interest in discussing things on your terms?
(As in, look at how you just responded.)

I must have spent all my thoughtfulness on making sure I didn't make all kinds of generalizations and accusations against you, b/c, y'know, that's a really stupid thing to do if you're actually interested in bridging a divide.

Uhh... I guess I'll repeat myself:
This part of your post is the only thing you said that is true and makes sense. Reading it the first time was painful enough. You don’t want things better. All you do is talk around in circles, and doing what you libs do best. Which is finding/making up problems, then assigning the blame to the evil white man.

Oh, geez, not this again. We've been there. I have provided you with countless examples with links to articles and studies about ongoing systemic racism. You've denied them all without explanation.
I'm not even going to waste my time linking it.

In word, yes, racism is overwhelmingly condemned by the vast majority of society. As one who acknowledges systemic racism, I do not consider it isolated at all. So condemning racism in word alone doesn't cut it for me, and denying that it is systemic means you don't contribute to doing anything about it. You can't stop what you don't or won't see.

I think most people think they have good intentions. Good for them. On a society-wide scale, what matters more are the results, the effect, how we help or harm others.

I'm not talking in circles. Not all answers are simple.

One more try: We do not agree about how much racism has been eradicated nor how much is left. You're not claiming everything is perfect now, and I am not denying there has been progress.

Sensationalism
The NC GOP was found to have created a Voter ID law designed to make voting harder for BIPOC. Former state GOP head Dallas Woodhouse admitted it... but said it was strategic, not racist. That was in the last decade.

There will always be racism, but racism isn’t one sided either. Progress can be made if things were taken on a case by case basis.

There’s too much money made to keep people divided though.

This is what troubles me about the alleged incident at BYU. Racism is universally condemned. We’re to believe that a random fan shouted the n word at a Duke player and no one in the place reacted: not the fans around him, nor any other player. I refuse to believe this happened. It is absurd.

It's a case of the supply of racism not keeping up with the demand.

Unless the allegation is proven this was just another case of someone screaming wolf. I can’t seem to find many examples of the media outlets retracting their stories supporting the claim. They all wanted to rush to run the story but now seem to have lost interest . Ironically this same week the Ohio bakery was rewarded 39.5 million dollars for the false claims made by Oberlin College.
That was my feel good story of the week.

Stephen A Smith was all over it. Where is he now?

The problem with any allegation made by the left is it’s Ready FIRE!!! then aim.

And racism is driving the train.

Ready FIRE aim, is a poor strategy regardless of where one is on the political spectrum, but I see it in many different areas. I could even draw an analogy to Putin as acting in that manner. He no doubt saw himself stepping off a plane in Kyiv to flowers and cheers. Instead, I think that he is more likely to meet the same fate as Tzar Nicholas. My point being that it is not a problem to be found exclusively on the American left. It's pretty much everywhere if one can look at things objectively. But yes, I agree that the volleyball situation is a good example of people judging before the facts were known. I don't know why people feel compelled to do that, I mean there are all kinds of old timey sayings like "look before you jump" but they do it anyway.

I’m talking politics. The left is ruining our country with this blaming anyone right of center. They are masters at the “ready FIRE aim way. It works too. The media is lockstep with them.

I think it’s really that simple, but worse, awful.
