I apologize...from the bottom of my assPerhaps you could be slightly less misogynistic in making your points. This is a Duke board and as a participant in higher education one would think you have a whole host of words you could use. On the other hand, you do seem to have trouble understanding how such a negative stereotyping gesture might be considered offensive.
It is offensive for a different reason. The name honors a law and order force that was violent, corrupt and racist in its enforcement. Some author said that for Mexicans and Mexican Americans living at the borders, the rangers were the equivalent of the KKK.Saw where someone said the Texas Rangers name is offensive.
I believe that there is some disagreement amongst Native Americans about the use of the term "Brave." Some feel that it perpetuates the stereotype of almost feral warriors. But beyond that, the tomahawk chop is very offensive and that won't go away unless the team changes the name.

We are finally having to pay for the fact that, as a country, we have refused to look at our history with eyes open and accept the atrocities white Americans perpetrated on brown-skinned people. The fights over flying the Confederate flag make that clear. And now, young people of color are feeling more secure and emboldened to force the issue. So, yes. There will be a lot of complaint, discussion and re-evaluation. Getting an accurate handle on our history is hardly a bad thing.

A lot of children there with nothing better to do in life other than find things they’re offended bySaw where someone said the Texas Rangers name is offensive.
this is a two way street. the people who want things to stay the same are just as childish, only they don’t give a reason for why they are so opposed to change, other than because the other side wants change.A lot of children there with nothing better to do in life other than find things they’re offended by

First of all, not wanting to perpetuate racist tropes and memes is very much living in the present. Secondly, If you don’t get a handle in your past, your present can be problematic.I think people just want to live in the present and not the past there “historian”
I bet over 90% of the population that root for these teams dont even know the history of these team names until brought light upon, 8% don’t care. 2% cry . That’s problematic. Now it’s a problem until every team falls in line. PeaceFirst of all, not wanting to perpetuate racist tropes and memes is very much living in the present. Certainly enough people are aware that the teams are motivated to make changes. The 2% who are crying are most likely the fans who want everything to stay the same.I bet over 90% of the population that root for these teams dont even know the history of these team names until brought light upon, 8% don’t care. 2% cry . Forget team names altogether. Let’s just go to numbers. I’m looking forward to MLB franchise #7’s upcoming season. Go #7, unless anyone objects to the name.I’m not trying to get political or social justice warrior at all.. I’m genuinely curious how the “Braves” name is offensive? It seems very classy and they don’t have any cartoonish logos..

So you think only 2% of Redskins fans were crying? Probably more in the 75% range or more.
That makes sense.. but it still seems several levels below “REDSKINS” which is an obviously offensive name.. if the Braves have to change, there will be hundreds of College & High School teams that have to change.. and you’ll also have to change any team that is named after a group of people (Vikings, Irish, etc.).. basically, if a team isn’t named after an animal, there will be some argument that it is offensive to someone.I believe that there is some disagreement amongst Native Americans about the use of the term "Brave." FIrst of all many schools went ahead and changed their names so it can be done. And I don't see why you have to change the name of a team if it is named after a group, I actually think that is mixing apples and oranges. Atlanta was not the Atlanta Native Americans, it used a stereotype of native americans for its name. Florida State for instance is has its name as the Seminoles and the tribe is proud of that fact. That makes sense.. but it still seems several levels below “REDSKINS” which is an obviously offensive name.. if the Braves have to change, there will be hundreds of College & High School teams that have to change.. and you’ll also have to change any team that is named after a group of people (Vikings, Irish, etc.).. basically, if a team isn’t named after an animal, there will be some argument that it is offensive to someone.
Seriously?Imagine an asterisk beside Aaron's name for all time career HR's.
*Aaron broke the record as a member of the Braves, not Wildcats.....
Talk about discrimination! DO NOT REWRITE BRAVES HISTORY! OFC
That is such an absurd argument that it only underscores the weakness of your position.YES!!!! VERY....OFC
