The New Lounge

You can say anything you want. You like your message board persona and how you present yourself. Do your thing.

You speculated about me being white the last time we interacted and you brought up your wife being Korean and how she knew more about stereotypes than me. I asked if she thought her brother or a male family member experienced the same type of racial stereotyping as a Black male. You never responded.

I'm glad you feel racial things only offend a soft person. I know being a white guy you're an expert on this.

Please clarify how you’re in my mind to say I like my persona. I’ll wait. Now, I do like calling our “woke” clowns who think anyone who disagrees with them is racist, bigot, etc. It’s just too easy to pass up.

I never said you were white, but nice try. And yes, they’ve experienced some pretty extreme racial slander, including a death threat based on “appearance”. But hey, that’s not quality enough I bet as black males are being gunned down in the street, all 9 unarmed By police last year, but over 2,400 by other blacks (that doesn’t count though).

And I’m “white”? Please do explain. I’ll wait.

You said yesterday you had Ukrainian and Jewish ancestors. Visually, that would make you white in America.

A little history. Planned Parenthood was started by Margaret Sanger and Prescott Bush, the father and grandfather or our two Bush presidents. the idea was to dispense birth control to poor people so they would stop having kids that they couldn't support and diluting the gene pool with people to intellectually deficient and lazy to make a living (this is what they thought, not me). it has now morphed into an organization that provides services such as Pap smears and mammograms to women who cannot afford them. it also provides neonatal care to people who cannot afford that to ensure that their babies are healthy. While Planned Parenthood does provide abortion services, those services make up a very small portion of their business. And thanks to the 1973 Hyde Amendment, no federal dollars go to support those abortions. As far as your comment about the amount of black babies being aborted, that is completely incorrect and is used as a trope to attack Planned Parenthood. At one point, black women were less likely to terminate their pregnancies than white women. I can't find any data as to whether that is still the case but it well may be. Even assuming for one moment that this ridiculous statement was correct, so long as those women made the choice to terminate their pregnancies then we are not talking genocide, we are talking personal choice. And again, let me stress that you broaden your info base so that you get an accurate view of what we moderate Democrats (who still make up the majority of the Democratic Party) think.

Facts hurt @SDevada

So subjective visualization is how we do race now? And those are my only two mixtures? Holy ish, you’re a dolt of epic proportion. Well done!

Yeah, visually is how we have always done race in America. Surely you've heard of "passing," right? Ask your 3/4 Black friend about it.

There’s that “the world is against me” mentality again. You’re a well-programmed BLM sucker. It’s comedic.

You keep up the excuses and judging on subjective appearance; I’ll keep seeing humans.

I’m going to enjoy my Sunday (or what you’ll say is white privilege). Get the last word in as you can’t let “whitey do you like that”. Sad.

No winning here. But you did actually say, "Hell, I'm white," in the Drew Brees thread.

In the same thread, you said "another touchy geeky white guy. Good job man."

Enjoy your Sunday.

U better check ur facts .You call Planned Parenthood and ask for any service other than an abortion and see what what response u get.

WSJ’s edi

I can’t read the link but WSJ’s op ed section has gone more off the rails that Fox
According to the NYC health department there were 134000 abortions on black babies as opposed to 116000 black births from 2012 to 2016.So a government agency in a predominantly Democratic city is lying.

I don't know that there has ever been an outcry to change Atlanta's team name. And that entire article read like a journalist contacted the organization and the organization gave a clear illustration of its relationship with Native Americans.

It didn't exactly sound like Braves management proactively and said, "F--K y'all! We ain't changing s--t!" as your "Hold firm Atlanta!" intro implied.

Are you kidding? Abortion services make up THREE PERCENT of PPs services.

See, the problem with these discussions is that people THINK they know things, and they don’t, but I will bet anyone here a hundred bucks that Topps somehow tries to deny this fact because it isn’t what he wants it to be.

We are all that way Dude. Don’t try to go all self righteous on us. We all believe what we believe. You’re no exception. Read that again.

I’d like to buy you for what you think you’re worth, and sell you for what you really are.

Dude, just remember, education doesn’t mean intelligence. K and Duke supporting BLM? What is he going to say? In this day and time, you either say ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, or PUBLICLY SUPPORT the cause.
Anything less than a 100% backing, is the end of his career.
Sorry, but it’s an agenda. Almost everything going on now is just that. I feel strongly about it.
On Trump? You all hate him, you’ve been told to hate him. Most of it, MEDIA DRIVEN. Create as much controversy as possible, and in doing so, keep a 77 year old hidden in his basement. A good plan to win, is demonize the other while a man with dementia is the opponent? If that isn’t corruption, there never has been any.

Mac, I think your perception of K is insulting and not befitting of a Duke fan. He has an extensive three+ decade - make that life long - off the court body of work that stands for itself and cannot be debated. I suspect you don't have a problem with him taking a stance, I suspect you have a problem with him taking a stance contrary to yours.

This overt negativity and questioning of integrity in regards to the program seems like a pattern. If I am not mistaken, when the Zion allegations were made public you seemed to immediately have zero doubt he and his family were guilty, prior to any evidence of any type. Said evidence has still yet to be presented, and their case is looking almost certainly like the desperate legal hail mary extortion attempt many assumed it was from the beginning.

And I don't want to hear the standard line about group think and an unwillingness to question K. Throwing out baseless allegations does not make you a maverick willing to ask the tough questions no one else will. I am not questioning K's motives here because I am merely a sunshine pumper - I am not questioning them because his integrity is proven.

If you are that convinced K is full of s*** and that the players are dirty, this might not be the program for you. I certainly wouldn't root for a program with that I felt that way about.

The way you guys are carrying on over the removal of an insulting slur from a team name Is remarkable. It’s not like anyone asked you to wear a mask at the stadium.

I have no idea why you think the age of the nickname supports your argument. We have been treating native Americans poorly and using this pejorative phrase since Washington was president. You are also wrong a out this protest only being 10 years old. It has gone and for as long as the team had its name. And quite frankly any team that has a racial slur in it should be changed. High schools and colleges did it and the world did not fall apart.
I simply stated that Redskins has been part of the teams name since 1933 but nobody seemed to have a problem with the name until about 10 or so years ago

And to the topic of the thread, I am a lifelong Washington fan (with very little to show for it, but I digress), and I can't think of any reasonable argument to keep the name. "It has always been the name" is not a good argument. I know there are a lot of team names that reference Native American culture in some way - Indians, Braves, Chiefs, Seminoles, etc. - but Washington seems to be the only one that directly references appearance/skin tone. I know that is not inherently offensive, but I can very easily see how some could see it that way, and their perception is valid. High time to make a change, and as a fan of the franchise, I hope they come up with something cool.

Haha. Am I supposed to believe everything he says? If you choose to, that’s your right. When our coach gets into a political movement, I have a problem with it. And yes, I disagree with how it’s all going. I fully believe it’s nothing but political. You disagree.
Where you might have a point on K, is he’s not the coach I grew up admiring. I’ve made that perfectly clear. Sports are, in my opinion, an outlet from the things going on in our country. They aren’t.
Yes, I’m getting sick of it.

Again, I just think you are selling the man really, really short and willingly ignoring his body of work.

I also don't think it is fair to him to contend that because he is affiliated with athletics that he does not deserve an opinion or a voice. But as I mentioned, I think your "shut up and coach" notion probably has more to do with disagreeing with his stance.

So that’s your take on my disagreement with K. I could just as easily say some of you blindly follow him, and take everything he says as correct. As I said before, this whole BLM spill is more for chaos and division than anything. That’s my stance.
While we’re on the subject of K, yes, I wish he would retire. I think he’s too old. I know that’s taboo with some of you all, but that’s how I feel.

You are totally unbiased in your views . 95 percent of Planned Parenthood recommendation are for abortions. rather than other options.Abortions last year were up approximately 25 percent while their other health services declined from between 30 to forty percent.Facts gathered from their annual reports
