CBR , by all accounts , is a professor currently teaching at unx. Drives the holes crazy that they haven't been able to out his identity yet. I assure ya...it ain't from a lack of tryin.' The other 2 ( "Tal Link" and "Not UNC PR" ) are your usual garden-variety tarhole psychopaths....

Tal Link ‏@talunc

@CheatingBlueRam wish the academics had only policed themselves....wouldn't be in this mess

Cheating Blue Ram ‏@CheatingBlueRam

@talunc Correct, academics should have been more vigilant. Regardless, doesn't change the fact athletics disproportionately benefitted.

Tal Link ‏@talunc

@CheatingBlueRam if academics hadn't looked the other way, would not have gotten to that point- could have been stopped years ago.PC/tenure

Cheating Blue Ram ‏@CheatingBlueRam

@talunc Can we agree, what was happening in AFAM and Philosophy was an absolute travesty, one that has no place in higher education?

Tal Link ‏@talunc

@CheatingBlueRam yes, maybe that's a reason faculty need someone other than themselves policing? Too many egos in the "academy" if they prove they can't police themselves then someone else should. Faculty dropped the ball and let the univ down

Cheating Blue Ram ‏@CheatingBlueRam

@talunc Not being snippy here. I'd love to hear your suggestions for improving university governance. Where would you start making changes?

Tal Link ‏@talunc

@CheatingBlueRam hold every dean, dept chair etc that AFAM reported to or was supposed to oversee curriculum/ tenure review accountable?

Not UNC PR ‏@HeelTruths

@talunc @CheatingBlueRam Problem is faculty move into admin & retain tenure. Responsibility of admin but accountability of faculty(none)

Tal Link ‏@talunc

@HeelTruths @CheatingBlueRam they (smiths anti athletic group) want to blame all except those that could have stopped it early on

Cheating Blue Ram ‏@CheatingBlueRam

@talunc OK. I'm with you so far. Now, next step, go back to the beginning and list names of the perpetrators." Let me start the list: Lissa Broome & Jack Evans, current and former Faculty Athletics Representatives. Deans of CAS during the scandal, including interims: Karen Gill, Bruce Carney, Holden Thorp, Madeline Levine, Bernadette Gray-Little. Chancellors during the scandal, including interims: Holden Thorp, James Moeser, Bill McCoy, Michael Hooker, and Paul Hardin. Associate Deans of CAS during the scandal, including interims: Too numerous to list. There's your list of "buck stops here" administrators. Pretty embarrassing, isn't it? Shame they tarnished UNC with their ineptitude

Tal Link ‏@talunc

@CheatingBlueRam any of those that had oversight of AFAM and knew of classes should be accountable-do you not agree?

Cheating Blue Ram ‏@CheatingBlueRam

@talunc Anyone, and I mean ANYONE, that was complicit should have to answer for their actions and inaction. The Deans that did not review Julius over a 20 year period should have to explain why. The Chancellors and Provosts that ignored red flags and reported concerns should have to answer why.

Tal Link ‏@talunc

@CheatingBlueRam # tenurerules # getajobinthetealworld # soprotected

Cheating Blue Ram ‏@CheatingBlueRam

@talunc Boxill wasn't tenured nor is the 60% of the faculty with non-tenure track positions. Real World? Try year to year 9-month contracts. Abuse of non-tenured is one reason @LocoCravey and others are trying to get SEIU to unionize the faculty in the UNC System.

Tal Link ‏@talunc

@CheatingBlueRam the whole thing was embarrassing-I prefer to focus on the positives, how about a record 35,748 applicants?

Cheating Blue Ram ‏@CheatingBlueRam

Of course applications are up at UNC. Word is out you need not attend class to make the Dean's list (or graduate).

Beaten , Tal taps out...

@CheatingBlueRam having people like you and jay at Carolina embarrasses me as much as the AFAM classes- have a great night prof

Question for anyone with knowledge of the subject. According to one of those unx e-mails , an athlete informed Maitland that "he didn't know he had LD/ADHD." Is it unusual for someone to reach the age of 18 years+ and NOT be diagnosed as such? If so , this stuff is incredibly damning. In that same e-mail , Maitland requests ANOTHER med for the kid. He's already taking adderall. Begs another question. Who prescribed the adderall and is that something unx can legally do? IOW , doesn't an outside specialist have to do that or can unx simply slap an "AD/LDHD" label on a kid an' start jackin' 'im up on A?

Absolutely nothing has changed over the past six weeks. In fact, a penalty floor has been established -- yet the PR companies continue to milk UNC's admin. "A fool and his money..."

While that floor has been set, BlueDL's progress may raise the roof a bit --- keep working, my friend.

Those in Indy (and D.C. -- yes, I know) whom the Big Rams think are allies, continue to laugh once the phone conversations have ended. "No matter how close to yours another's steps have grown, in the end there is one dance you'll do alone."

If UNC-CH were smart they would self-impose a 2 year ban on MBB, Football and WBB but they are not smart...

The NCAA know he knows as well....

Whomever could this have been from? Lollers. "As the learning specialist for student athletes..."

unx alum Bob Lee...

BOTH My Alma Maters… became “Punchlines”!

So what do Two Embattled Academic Flagships – Univ Missouri a/k/a “Mizzou”…. and UNC-CH have in common?

#1 – ME! I matriculated at both in the late 60s / early 70s and have maintained a connection with both.

#2 Both institutions have stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their ways to being “national punchlines” for overall administrative incompetence both athletically and academically. How closely have you followed the rapid descent and implosion of The University of Missouri ? Probably as closely as the general public 1,500 miles from The Old Well have followed UNC’s fumbles and stumbles the past six years. In other words, not all that closely.

Certainly there are specifics differences in the “OMG! THEY DID WHATs?” with both UNC and MFlyOverissouri’s institutional trainwrecks, If one did a flyover – like Governors do in helicopters after a hurricane – the devastation on the ground in both Chapel Hill and Columbia would be similar. … Notify FEMA, both of these need to be declared disaster areas ASAP. Which institutional trainwreck has been The Worst? Historians can sort thru the bloated carcasses and detritus that administrative incompetence can wrought.

OK… I’ve never heard the term “The Missouri Way”. UNC is hardly the only school that touts it’s mythical “Way” but Mizzou has never been one of them. Mizzou alumni have, until recently, always been “proud” as all alumni should beLapel Ribbon … but that “false pride” never became a recognized mental illness with its own lapel ribbon.

It is amazing what information will do to behavior. Now that Roy has an understanding of what is going to happen to him he is realizing that this will be his last year of coaching. When you realize that this will be your last chance at a national championship since the other 2 will most likely be gone, it amps up the pressure.
