If I remember correctly Trajan's record for consecutive games with a 3 was 37 games and after the game against Clemson, Quinn is now tied with Trajan, so if he makes at least one 3 in our next game against Virginia Tech he will set a new record that hopefully he will continue to add to until his last game whenever that might be.

Bump....before this gets too far down there.

Any and all praise Quinn gets is more than deserved. Guy has proven many that were questioning if he had it in them. Looking at myself here! Way to go Quinn!

Lord, I would love to see him make more than just one three in every game left until April.

It appears that Quinn has taken issue with that assumption.

Dude is finishing out his career in style, and really putting himself in some rarefied air when you consider production, work ethic, leadership, unselfishness, etc. It's been a dream finale for Quinn --- and us.

He's been absolutely unbelievable. And imagine, some didn't think he could play along side of Tyus.. I think he made the adjustment rather well.

Good point...didn't catch that.

Re: Quinn Cook Stat-Tracker - Goes Over 1,300 Points vs. FSU (into top 40 now)

I'll look later today. It's possible I missed a game along the way....

Re: Quinn Cook Stat-Tracker - Goes Over 1,300 Points vs. FSU (into top 40 now)

I'm trying to figure out where I missed a game for Quinn and I can't find it....which leads me to believe that when we started the thread we were just off on his overall numbers by a game. He scored 18 against Stanford (and I'm off 18 points) so that might have been the one not added....because we started the tracker after then.

Thanks for catching that dukebth. I ran the numbers and the correct total is 1,435. Here's the updated tracker.

Side note....don't tell my wife. She thinks I've never been wrong before and I'd like to keep it that way.

Re: Quinn Cook Stat-Tracker - Goes Over 1,300 Points vs. FSU (into top 40 now)

What would Quinn need to make top 25. Is he on pace to make it if we were to play about 8 games -- which would be a pretty realistic prediction at this point.

Re: Quinn Cook Stat-Tracker - Goes Over 1,300 Points vs. FSU (into top 40 now)

Jeff Capel is #25 with 1,601 career points. If we played our maximum number of games (11) Quinn would need to average 15.1 the rest of the way. In eight games it would be close to 21 per game.

Cool, just another reason to try and get to the title game.

Re: Quinn Cook Stat-Tracker - becomes 33rd Duke player to score 1,400 points

The way Quinn is playing, and the team, it wouldn't surprise me if he gets to 25th, or really close. Whatever happens he has had a heck of a career at Duke.

Re: Quinn Cook Stat-Tracker - becomes 33rd Duke player to score 1,400 points

Quinn is finishing his career with a flourish. Top 30, that's pretty impressive.

Re: Quinn Cook Stat-Tracker - Goes Over 1,300 Points vs. FSU (into top 40 now)

So on Saturday night Quinn moved into the top 30 on the all-time scoring list at Duke. When you take a look at some of the names he's surpassed you realize how special of a career he's truly had.

A few quick numbers on where he could wind up.

Duke could play nine more games. In order to do that it means we'd be playing on Monday, April 6th in the national championship game. Obviously, there's a lot that needs to be done for that too happen, but we're fans so we can look ahead. If we play nine games and Quinn scores his average he would finish at around 1,610....or top 25 all-time. He would pass current assistant Jeff Capel, who currently is at #25 with 1,601 points.

He's having an amazing senior year. I hate that it's almost over....but hopefully it goes the full length.

Re: Quinn Cook Stat-Tracker - Top 30 All-Time Scorers at Duke

Well, I might as well come out and say it. They say confession is good for the soul. I was wrong.

I was not a big Quinn Cook fan. Maybe because we had Kyrie, Nolan, Scheyer before him. Maybe it is because he didn't seem to improve over his first 3 years. Maybe it's because he used to dribble the ball around the perimeter for 30 seconds and then pass it to Jabari for a contested 17 footer as the shot clock expired. Whatever the reason was, he proved me wrong this year. All that hard work he put into the program has manifested itself. I am very proud of him. He could have easily sulked when Tyus was named PG. But instead he flourished. That is a true testament to his character. I hope the accolades keep piling up for him this year. He deserves them.

Re: Quinn Cook Stat-Tracker - Top 30 All-Time Scorers at Duke

^^^..i understand, but QC had a great soph year!!!...and his jr stats were almost identical...i really think that jabari/hood affected quinns progress to some degree

Re: Quinn Cook Stat-Tracker - Top 30 All-Time Scorers at Duke

Quinn was very good at the beginning of his sophomore year. When he slumped during the ACC season he let it really get to him mentally.

I don't think Quinn is that much better of a player (besides his shooting....he's improved immensely)....he's just stronger mentally. Plus, I think he knows he needs to lead and instead of embracing that challenge the two previous years, he's welcomed it this season.

Re: Quinn Cook Stat-Tracker - Top 30 All-Time Scorers at Duke

If Quinn were to average what he's averaged over the last 8 games of the season which was 21 ppg. Where could he potentially end up on the all time scoring list at Duke?

Re: Quinn Cook Stat-Tracker - Top 30 All-Time Scorers at Duke

That would put him in the mid-1600's and probably into the top 23 or 24.

Re: Quinn Cook Stat-Tracker - Goes Over 1,300 Points vs. FSU (into top 40 now)

Quinn scored 15 in last night's victory over State and he's held to just seven in a loss to ND.

25. Jeff Capel - 1,601
26. Daniel Ewing - 1,595
27. Thomas Hill - 1,594
28. David Henderson - 1,570
29. Carlos Boozer - 1,506
30. Quinn Cook - 1,490
T-31. Vince Taylor - 1,455
T-31. Chris Carrawell - 1,455
33. Mike Lewis - 1,417

Re: Quinn Cook Stat-Tracker - Goes Over 1,300 Points vs. FSU (into top 40 now)

Quinn goes for 22 in the win over Robert Morris. He's now the 30th Duke player of all-time to score 1,500 career points.

25. Jeff Capel - 1,601
26. Daniel Ewing - 1,595
27. Thomas Hill - 1,594
28. David Henderson - 1,570
29. Quinn Cook - 1,512
30. Carlos Boozer - 1,506
T-31. Vince Taylor - 1,455
T-31. Chris Carrawell - 1,455

Re: Quinn Cook Stat-Tracker - Goes Over 1,300 Points vs. FSU (into top 40 now)

Quinn pours in 15 vs SDSU as Duke advances to the Sweet 16.

25. Jeff Capel - 1,601
26. Daniel Ewing - 1,595
27. Thomas Hill - 1,594
28. David Henderson - 1,570
29. Quinn Cook - 1,527
30. Carlos Boozer - 1,506
T-31. Vince Taylor - 1,455
T-31. Chris Carrawell - 1,455

Re: Quinn Cook Stat-Tracker - Goes Over 1,300 Points vs. FSU (into top 40 now)

Quinn needs 44 more points to pass David Henderson for 28th on the all-time list. He needs 73 to reach 1,600.

Re: Quinn Cook Stat-Tracker - Over 1,500 Career Points

It's gonna be pretty difficult for Quinn to move up the list at this point. He'll need to average 22 in the next two games, assuming we even play two more games.

If he doesn't get in the next two, assuming we are lucky enough to hit FF, he would probably hit it.

If we go NC, he has a real chance to move up about 3 spots, and if we go that far, I think it's far to assume he's scoring will have played a part of that... but it's gonna be incredibly difficult.
