I do and will always like pitino. I think he's a great coach and possibly one of the greatest in game coaches of all time. Outside of K amd Knight he would be the guy I wanted if I had to win one game.. As a person idk tho

Glad to hear you guy's say this. I live here in Ky and have to hear bs from Uk fans the yr around. I've always like Pitnio as a coach especially when he was at Uk. Not really a fan of either school but id pull for Ul before Uk.. I hope this isn't true because if it is it will force him out at the University of Louisville. I guess he's old enough to retire..PS, Be glad when Giles commits to Duke. Uk fan's think they have a chance with this guy..
Off topic, but I'm just wondering. From your point of view, is there more hatred between UNC and Duke or UL and UK? I was in Kentucky this past Spring and the vibrations were weird. And this was Spring!!

I was hoping we would stay away from this until more convincing evidence comes in. Remember Duke LX and how it cost an innocent coach his job and effected our team. Will I do understand though the purpose of the thread. It is note worthy. We just need to wait for all the evidence to come in. If this is true and Pitino knew about it he should never have a coaching job again. OFC
To answer your question about respect. There is far more respect between Duke/Unc than Uk/UL. University of Lousiville has won 3 national championships and be to a ton of Final Four's. Yet they get zero respect from Uk fans. Ul might as well be Eastern Ky in their eyes. But they have no respect for K, Duke, UNC, coach Wooden, Knight or any of the greats. Beginning to see a pattern forming here. lol
It's very dissappointing as a fan to see UofL featured in the headlines of another sex scandal. Sypher, Chris Jones, now this in the last 5 years. Even though the Chris Jones allegations turned out to be false, that didn't erase the stain that the initial allegations caused. It will be no different with this. I think there is some truth to the book that has been written. I also think there's a boatload of fluff thrown in to sell books, with no regard to using tangible evidence. If even 10% of this is proven true, it's going to take a very long time for UofL to recover from the damage that's been done in terms of national perception.

Yeah, I mentioned that I didn't find Pitino credible...but compared to this nut job, he looks pretty good.
This could be one of those situations where we never find out the whole story. Which doesn't bother me, but I'm sure it'll grind on Louisville fans.
I'm a UK fan and hate ul fans, respect coach K but pull against Duke as a competitor. Ul covers up more scandals than any team I can find. Pitino's scandal, petrino's scandal, sex discrimination lawsuit lost by Jurich, girl found dead in football players room last year, they take any football player kicked off of other teams if they can play. My point is there's no reason to think anything they do is not morally bankrupt. They are also currently ripping off tax payers across the state with the arena they are using which hits my wallet. I'm not really sure why anyone would respect their program as a whole with all of this unless you agree with how they run business. It's fine with me if you do agree with how they do it but it eventually ends up like this.

That's not true at all. As a uk fan I have great respect for Duke, UNC (well I HAD respect for UNC), Knight etc. Mind you, I think Knight is an a--hole, but he was an all-time great coach.
Every fan base has its idiots and Kentucky is no different. As passionate as the fan base is though, their idiots are probably louder than average.
As far as Louisville, they're a top 10 program, sure. Pitino is one of the best coaches in the game. But they go out of their way to bash Kentucky however they can. Last time this week on their Rivals board they had about 5 of their top 8 threads on Kentucky-"Cal throws twin under the bus", "Has Skal been ruled ineligible yet?", "The SEC is the weakest conference" etc. They talk ad nauseum about how dirty Kentucky is, and now after the hooker thing comes out.....they're still running threads about how dirty Kentucky is. To me, that is utterly laughable.
I will say this though, I honestly doubt Pitino knew about this stuff. I can't see him, as a head coach, going this far to get recruits.
I think you'll find a large group of UofL fans are equally annoyed by all the UK threads on our forum

NCAA will likely judge impermissable benefits and take away a few schollys - likely a post season ban. Maybe there's an example out there where they could vacate the season based on this information, but I'm not aware of it. If so, I would not be surprised to see Rick step down, or be asked to step down. Sometimes perception is just as important as reality, and this may be impossible to survive after the Sypher mess.
I'm assuming child protective services will also drop the hammer on Powell and McGee if there is truth in the claims of prostituting her underage daughters. That is the most sickening aspect of this, and they could be looking at some well deserved jail time. I'm so dissappointed that Louisville is joining Cuse and UNC as a stain on the new look ACC.

Didn't UK refuse to play UL until the state legislature stepped in? This is what I had always heard.
It's all good. As a fan I just have to own it. I obviously had nothing to do with it, so I don't have much reason to get defensive about it. I'm embarrassed for the university and for Tom Jurich, but I'm having a hard time supporting the basketball program right now. The Outside the Lines report posted today is pretty damning. There are photos, receipts, texts, phone calls and a lot of hard evidence. Big names too, like Russ Smith and Harrell. What remains unclear is Pitino's level of involvement and knowledge. One of the last party bookings was over three months after the guy left to take another job, so someone at UL was still keeping him involved in this capacity.
