OT: Sports trivia part 2.

Johnny Keane, lol

OFC

No not Johnny. OK I will give a hint. Pipp wasn't in the game because he was injured. The 1st. name of the player went in for was actually his nickname which was also the nickname of a future Dodger HOFer. Where is billyball? I believe he would get it. I'm gonna let thistand onev stew little before the next clue, To be honest I didn't know the answer but like I said Pipp lost his job because everyone was injured. OFC

Time for bed. Think about the clue. You should come up with the nickname. The last name is a little tougher. OFC

So I just saw this yesterday on a ‘Today in Sports’ thing on TV. Gehrig’s streak started on June 1, 1925....and he pinch-hit for a guy named Pee-Wee, but I’ll be damned if I remember the last name. I don’t think I get the first name without your hint. All I remember is that I didn’t know the Yankees player he hit for in that game.

I apologize for letting the clock expire on my turn a couple days ago. I took a Stacker energy pill that contained a shellfish ingredient (who would have thought?) - I’m allergic to shellfish. Long story short, I’m all good now.

Ok on to the next question. I'll make this one fairly easy. What Yankee did Lou Gehrig pinch hit for when he started his 2,130 consecutive game streak. OFC
I did a biography on Lou Gehrig in my school days. My memory is faded, I don’t remember his real first name but he went by “Pee-Wee” and his last name is Wanniger
@hart2chesson Wally Pipp was the player he stole the starting role from.

Wanniger is it. The only reason I knew is because I wiki Lou Gehrig. It's amazing how many people always think Pipp even though it is always mentioned that Pipp lost his starting job while injured. You are up BP since you did get the last name without a hint and time ran out on you for the next question. OFC

4 players in NBA history have had quadruple-doubles. 3/4 achieved this with pts/rebs/asts/blks — Who is the only player to do it with steals as the 4th stat category?

Congrats to Bobby for getting in the HOF this year but he is not the answer. This player is not in the Naismith HOF.

Congrats INDEED! My fave UNC PLAYER EVER BY FAR!!!! A gentleman and a warrior who accomplished tremendous feats on-court,and all the time played the game on multiple epilepsy meds.

Stock and Larry are both wrong.

Hint - He accomplished this in ‘86 and was also named NBA D-POY that same season.

1986? Are you sure about that year? Seems to me that ty lawson, ph hairston, kendall marshall, ray felton , tyler hansbrough done that. I know all of them couldn't have though. Please recheck your resources and see if harrison barnes didn't pull it off. OFC

Greg Popovich has coached the Spurs to 1,245 victories since he took over in 1995. Before that, the Spurs were hardly a blip on the radar. Who is their second winningest coach of all-time with a paltry 177 wins leading the franchise?

Stan Albeck

Only other head coaches for the Spurs that come to mind are Larry Brown and Bob Hill. Pretty sure neither one was there longer than 3-4 years, so I'm thinking it was someone from the 70's?? Idk. Tough question.
