Duke don’t win half the games they have without Young .
I'm not even mad. We are just mediocre.
I'm going to start advocating for throat punching after every made basket now. Because obviously it's okay.
Does an 11 or 12 lose team make the tournament? Maybe because we have some quality wins, but Jon does look a bit in over his head.

No alphas. Weak guard play. Missed 3 FTs in the final 2 minutes. Proctor barely drawing iron on that last three. Throw away the last possession of the game. Not a good recipe. Agree we just aren’t very good. Let’s lace em up Saturday and see what happens.

I mean the pressure put on these kids aren’t put on by them . It’s fans . Y’all wonder why all the OAD . You think if I’m a parent of a Duke recruit I want my son to stay where he’s called a Bum? Hell no I’m telling him to leave go get your money . It’s not their fault Duke built a global brand that just about mirrors a minor league NBA team !

Some of you are sad. Don't watch if it bothers you that much. Losing Whitehead stings, and bad. But I won't quit on this team. They fought tonight and had their chances. Onto the next.

With the number one rated high school class, best facilities, best connections, number one brand in all of college basketball…
A reasonable expectation is to make the tournament.
Saturday is must win…and if they lose they will not make it.
This team is just like the teams of the last 5 years. If they’re down by 3-4 with under 14:00 to play they start chunking up 3s. It kills me.
We had a chance and needed one stop. We left Ryan in instead of Lively on defense and he got beat off the dribble…the entire defense broke down from that and they scored.
It’s coaching malpractice not to have had our best defensive lineup in to get a stop….oh and we had a timeout to use if we got it to substitute in for the last shot.

The ESPN studio team after the last game mentioned intensity, and what it takes to win in the ACC....thats a major missing element from this team. Maybe its youth, maybe its attitude, maybe its the demeanor that the coaches bring..whatever it is, its missing..and these types of games show it. Same mistakes, same reactions, same result...this team is middle of the pack at best this year...the pieces just dont add up to a complete team
Scheyer needs to scour the gameday threads for all these coaching pearls of wisdom.
I know not to have Young on the floor for a stop at the end…go back and watch him get blown by….it’s bad coaching….

Maybe he would make the tournament then? Or maybe he needs something better than the number 1 of everything? Facilities, Brand, Support, Players??
He clearly just needs you. Because of all your vast coaching expertise.
If he had me Lively wouldn’t have been on the bench on D…it’s the only thing he does well.

What’s connections and brand have to do with a way a player plays on the floor?
Did coming to Duke make Grandison any better ? Did it get Schutt a three star recruit on the floor ( one a lot of you keep calling for to play ?) . Has it made Lively progress any quicker ? No. Do the facilities help stop injuries occurring or reoccurring? No !
The only thing the brotherhood brand has done is continue to get OAD recruits to commit . That’s it . It’s the luck of the draw has no one learned it does not work? Luck struck twice ! Once with UK and once with Duke . That’s it . It hasn’t produced more championships or more answers then questions.
I stick by my pick at the success thread. Making the tourney for Scheyer his first year will be good . We put the pressure on ourselves if what we expect and most of you had high expectations before seeing a player play at the college level. That’s not on them. If it’s on anyone it’s on scouts and analyst who BELIEVE what they should do at the college level .
All I know is I had zero confidence we could pull out a close game on the road. Zero.
No I said making the tournament his first year! Posters are the ones saying we won’t .
And stop with injuries…there isn’t another program in the entire country that has as many injuries as a Duke year after year.

We need a leader for these young guys. From what I'm seeing it's Flip but it should be Roach. With 13 seconds to go he should have demanded the ball. Need experience at end of games but Roach has not been good.
He should easily make the tournament IMO….anything less is a disaster. This should be the absolute lowest of standards at Duke.
Yea I’m not quitting on them as I’ll root/watch, but they’re not making the tourney. It’s okay to be realistic here without saying they all suck, etc.

He has only won three playoff games in twelve years since they all retired and hasn’t won a playoff game in seven years now.
But he’s never had a losing season and finishes 9-8 better than anyone! Whoop D Fricken Do…
The standard of the organization has totally regressed from playoffs to non losing seasons. I’d trade Tomlin for a box of popcorn….

Usually its your PG, but we havent had an alpha PG in a while. We lost 37-16 in PG scoring to Vtech...and in all our losses we have been heavily outscored in that position.
But Duke has the number one facilities . So why with the number one in everything are the injuries continue to pile up ?
I'm not ready to say they're not making the tournament. 14-6 & 5-4 in conference play. 11 games to go. Let's see what happens.
Set by who? You ? Me ? Once again if your going to look at these kids as professional with nothing to learn then don’t complain about OAD and how college basketball is done . It’s fans making it out to look like pro sports. The expectations, the what you should do when you come to Duke .
