timo and pisgah, I have a feeling this Hofmann poster is a troll. He was speaking nonsense about Maluach. His post also seems very trollish.
I would have taken a tech from one of our bigs on lahkin because he was getting what ever he wanted around the rim .Technical foul on Shey. Blue gets 2 free throws.
In the second half, Mal seemed like the only defender who could slow Lahkin down even a little bit. Not a moral victory, but I saw effort that will lead to being tougher later.I feel pretty good about this loss. Clemson needed every bit of help and luck possible to win. We weren’t able to match their physicality .. but that’s the way the cookie crumbles on the road. And they’re a good team. They will be in the tournament. They killed us on the boards. Some of that was luck, some effort. What stuck out a little to me is Maluach has got to be a little better, and he will be. Obviously our defense wasn’t the same. This was a good time to get sick, hosed, lose, and reboot.😂
Team just can’t close vs quality vet opponents, beating up mediocre ACC teams won’t make them better. Illinois is the only tough game left, lose that and they don’t deserve a 1 seed. It’s a shame our starting guards had to play so much because foster is completely unplayable.
Zona and Auburn are literally our only ranked wins. ACC is a dumpster fire this year and that’s why we won’t be tested as much as a team playing in the sec.Duke did win at Arizona and beat Auburn. Also, Duke should have a tough ACC Semi Finals/Finals Opponent(s)
Eh. The only sus thing to me was the slippery floor near the end, and if we’re honest, planning that would be some New England Patriot level chicanery right there.Only watched the highlights (and kinda glad for that), but the officiating was horrendous from what I saw. Clemson consistently throwing chests and shoulder's into Duke ball handlers beyond the 3 point line with no call.......embarrassing. Coop getting, basically, punched in the face/throat on a clear push off with no call......embarrassing. The flagrant 1 on Kon.......embarrassing. Mal's 5th foul for being much taller than Clemson's player......embarrassing.
It didn't seem quite Tennessee 2 years ago bad, but it looked bad. Hats off to Clemson for making the shots, but that game was officiated with an agenda. 2-3 bad calls/non-calls a game go one teams way, ok, it happens. I saw 6-7 in a 10 minute highlight video alone. Embarrassing.

If I had one complaint about the OAD era it would be this. Obviously we are good but we seem to resort to hero ball when the game is close and on the line and it seems like that rarely works out for us. Cam's 3 point shot to beat FSU is an example of a perfectly drawn up play.
Nope. I love the team they've put together. Are any of you unhappy with the Roster Construction Coach Scheyer and Staff put together?
Not at all but I’m shocked at the massive regression from Foster and i thought manman would be a way better rim protector. Thankfully the Covid year is about to be finally goneAre any of you unhappy with the Roster Construction Coach Scheyer and Staff put together?
I hear ya and realize it's poor form to complain about the officiating, especially after a loss. And, again, I only watched a 10 min. highlight video, but the calls/non-calls borderlined on absurd. How a player like Flagg gets punched in the face/throat area on an obvious pushoff, right in front of the official, not get called is ridiculous. Proctor and Flagg both got body checked and knocked backwards, beyond the 3 point line, while dribbling, yet no call? That's ridiculous. Mal's 5th.....absurd. Kon's flagrant.....absurd. Those are all calls a ref has to want to make or not make.Eh. The only sus thing to me was the slippery floor near the end, and if we’re honest, planning that would be some New England Patriot level chicanery right there.
The refs were consistent throughout the game. That’s my top wish from all officiating. When they let it be known in the first 5 minutes that they’re gonna swallow their whistles and let them play, we should accept it and proceed accordingly by the next TV timeout. That goes for the team on the court and fans watching.
Pretty positive we’ll see Clemson againAt the end of the regular season Duke would have played a schedule that should have them ready for any team they will face in the NCAA Tournament:
Kentucky & Auburn (SEC high octane teams)
Kansas (Veteran laden and defensive sound team)
Arizona (Class of The Big 12 along with Houston)
Illinois (Strong Defensive Team from the Big10 and can really score)
Louisville (Gritty ACC Team, one of the hotter teams in the country)
Clemson (Experienced/Physical Team with sound coaching)
George Mason (Experienced Mid Major winning their conference at the moment)
Hope Duke faces any combination of Wake Forest/Clemson/Louisville in ACC Tournament Play
Duke will be Prepared for the NCAA Tournament
No, no. I accidentally wore something orange earlier in the day. It was my fault. It's my fault. I gushed about the team in my top 10 Wednesday and jinxed us.
5 Quad 1 wins.Zona and Auburn are literally our only ranked wins. ACC is a dumpster fire this year and that’s why we won’t be tested as much as a team playing in the sec.
Not unhappy but wish we had a big with some offensive game other than dunks and put backs. Both Brown and Mal are good on the defensive end but man they have no offensive skill set.Are any of you unhappy with the Roster Construction Coach Scheyer and Staff put together?
While I would almost always agree with your first sentence here, last nights officiating was TERRIBLE. I don’t care if I’m “being that guy” complaining about the officials like Gary, but that was criminally bad officiating. It was bullsh*t.I hear ya and realize it's poor form to complain about the officiating, especially after a loss. This did it . I should have known when I went to Roses department store with my wife and saw an entire shelf of Clemson stuff it was a sign . Especially when we’re in NC .No, no. I accidentally wore something orange earlier in the day. It was my fault.
