In this weekly feature on Rivals.com, we take a look at the weekend’s standout performances from both college and pro football, and pick one player from each star rankings group to spotlight. This week's unranked player is Duke QB Daniel Jones.

Here's his section:

As a recruit: Despite posting gaudy numbers and helping his team win a state championship as a senior, Jones saw little to no recruiting interest. Rather than play at a lower level, he elected to walk on with the Blue Devils despite the presence of several quarterbacks on the roster.

What he did this week: Jones stepped into the starting lineup this year after an injury to starter Thomas Sirk. This weekend, Jones helped guide the Blue Devils to a 28-27 upset victory over No. 17 North Carolina, throwing for 240 yards and a touchdown while also rushing for 94 yards and two more scores. Duke head coach David Cutcliffe is known as a quarterback guru and Jones is just the latest example of his ability to develop players at the position.
