Alright I have watched the UNC Duke replay and Matt got an offensive rebound that was crucial... Is it just me or does he seem to have a knack for getting offensive rebounds at the best times. I have seen it in other games I just can't pinpoint which ones. Hopefully I am not alone in seeing this.

He's really stepped up in the last month. What I love about Matt is he plays to his role. He's going to be a big-time leader for our teams the next couple of seasons. Great kid, too.

I like Matt and what he brings to the team, I do not however think he will ever be the scorer we thought he was going to be.

I can't see him averaging over 10 PPG, if he ever gets quite that high.

His shot will always be inconsistent because of his below the shoulder release.

I just love the way he accepts his role. Hustles and tries to be productive. Happy to have him at Duke.OFC

Matt Jones is as true of a 'Duke Type Player' as there is. Totally 100% invested in helping the team win in ANY ROLE he is asked to be in.

He's one of those guys that you have to have one or two of to win Titles. Def has a knack for being in the right place and that's simply because of his passion and intensity to play as hard as humanly possible.

Well stated, shicashicu. My thoughts exactly. What would Duke history be without the likes of Brian Davis, Tony Lang, Lance Thomas, Steve Vacendak and all the others? Not as great as it has been, that is for sure. OFC

I really think he could turn into a reliable shooter. Its not like he has a hideous shot. It comes from his waist a little too much, but he has a few more years. He may never be a go to scorer, but with increased minutes he will be someone that gets to take and make more big shots in the future. To an extent though his role will always be making little plays that impact the game in a huge way.

I love any kid that plays with heart. Jones is one of them. But two things have stood out all year with him: He is still VERY inconsistant with his shots (reminds me of Dre) AND he plays awful defense at times. I can't even keep count of how many times he loses his man each game. K has even been seen yelling at him for this. One could argue the whole team has that problem, I get it. I'm still just waiting to see that recruit with the nice shot. He played a major role in losing his man on that dunk on Jah everybody went crazy about. He drives me crazy on defense. With all that said, the kid has one heck of a knack for making crucial plays like that rebound. I just hope he continues to grow and isn't as inconsistant as Dre was over the years with his shots.

His shot is a long way from looking like Dre's, and it is funny that he is considered one of Duke's best defenders. OFC

Thankful for a guy like this on my team. He doesn't allow his offense to affect his game, just keeps playing. A great piece and I love his demeanor.

He has the hardest shot to predict. It never seems to look good when it leaves his hand, but he hits at a good rate. That release point is different to say the least. He brings a lot to the table though.
