We would have won. Maye playing and not hicks was most notable in rebounding in which we got outrebounded. Plus, Hicks had been very solid from the line this year and another good FT shooter would have been great. Especially, since Maye could not cover their 4 no matter who it was at times.
As DJ said, maybe, but that's only conjecture, not a fact . But here are a couple of facts, Duke won that game, and Duke has won 12 of the last 15. And for every single bitter loss, Carolina nation spews a string of excuses. There is a pattern here, and the pattern is that Duke figures out a way to win, or UNC figures out a way to lose...if that makes you feel better. Either way it's the same result.
Now UNC may well beat the living hell out of us in Chapel Hill (hope not), and go on a winning streak of their own against Duke...but that is not the here and now.
