Favorite THR Quotes....

From ignorant Steat as usual.

"This last tripping incidence was worst than then the prior two incidents. The he went into tirade. The NBA will not draft this brat. K-Rat convinced the brat to comeback for another season and is now doing his best to protect him. I know for a fact that the ACC was getting ready to hit Trip with a 10 game suspension and K-Rat stepped in to save face. I'm not going to reveal my source so don't bother asking me."

He doesn't have any sources lol! Shouldn't they be worried about their third NOA?

Steat is pathetic. He knew for a fact, huh? Loll. Love his use of the word "worst" as well. What a moron.

Before notre dame getting hit I would have agreed with you. But notre football is a bigger brand than unc football. They will get hit. The question is how hard. because if they weren't going to get punish why do another Noa

Agree. There will be some penalties besides your basic fines, probation....

Re: UNC will sue the NCAA and will win

Yes, we need to sue the NCAA and open the door for Nyang'oro and Crowder to take the stand and clear the air on their motivations for setting up this whole scheme in the first place. There is a public misconception that they did it to help basketball and football players. I just can't understand why we silenced them and didn't encourage them to explain the truth - that they were helping at-risk students as a whole - years ago. If they'd chosen or been compelled to speak publicly years ago, I think we'd be in a whole different position today in the court of public opinion.

No....UNC doesnt want Nyang'oro and Crowder on the stand....Such a scenario opens "discovery," POISON for UNC...They are frustrated because their Philadelphia lawyers have not been able to broker a deal w/o the case going to COI....

Not a THR Quote, but somewhat related to UNC. So my wife and I were having a gender reveal party yesterday and we were doing some of the old wives tales. I asked my wife some questions such as, "Daddy's weight. Gaining or maintaining?" and, "Morning sickness. Yes or no." The first options were in pink and the second answers were in light blue. After my wife answered, I announced that the old wives tale indicated it was a girl for those particular questions. It wasn't until the 3rd or 4th question that I realized she answered questions which responded to a boy - but for some reason my mind associated baby blue with a female girl. I quickly pointed out that Carolina Blue is a color that no man would wear and perhaps that's why my mind registered the answer as a girl.

We are having a boy, by the way - and my baby ain't wearing Carolina Blue. Ever. Go Duke!

Steat went to the Gary school of posting. If you add a source, no matter how off the wall your statement is, it has internet credibility. 1+1=3 per a source of mine, don't even bother asking who cause I'm not telling you.

Haha I mean ten games is so laughably absurd. But like you said, as long as you say you have a source you some how think you get credibility. It's ok to have unnamed sources if you have shown the track record of being correct, but steat and Gary don't exactly have that.

Lmao at this guy Steat. I'm pushing back but I'm sure I'll be banned soon. Btw guys, 10 days? Lol, not happening at this juncture.

Steat is also an expert financial guy. You should reach out and inquire about his financial services, Timo. You know he's good if he's taking to NBA GMs on the regular.

PS....you're not allowed to ask for references.

On another note Gary is hinting the Heels may lose another top ten recruit Zion because their is something shady going on

You know I'm beginning to wonder in guru gary 7 is thr reason unc is losing all these top recruits. What if they look at his post and think no way am I going to play for a school with nuts like that and his comrades as a fan base. :D OFC

Only thing shady going on is Roy is still the coach. That's the only reason they're losing out on another top ten recruit.

In terms of recruiting, and this was actually a good post by one of our non-THR posters, Roy lacks a Capel or a Payne that can really connect in a modern sense with the kids on the recruiting trail. It could very well be a factor in Roy's inability to close lately.

Nonsense. Roy rocks modern blue plaid suits and speaks the daggum language of today's youth. Just the other day I saw a teenager power dump squat in the mall after recieving news the nanner pudding had sold out.

That's maybe part of it. I still think the big issue (and not sure that's the right word) is that UNC players haven't really "played over their heads" and in some cases haven't come close to their expectations. Coaches aren't negatively recruiting when they point out how three of the top 25 players from the 2014 class are still in school and two of them play at UNC. They aren't negatively recruiting when they show how McAdoo entered UNC as a prize recruit and a top-5 pick after his freshman year but became an undrafted FA by his junior year. Or, how often times how Roy has a penchant for playing upperclassmen over freshmen, even if said freshmen are clearly better. Case in point this season....how is Tony Bradley playing less than 17 minutes per game? The only projected first-round guy on UNC's roster on any draft board is eighth in minutes played? It's not negative recruiting to point out factual things.

if they gave a best poast of the year award i would nominate this one. i don't think unc made a blunder by cooperating, and the fact that we did will serve us well in court. but the time for cooperating with the ncaa is over. as the Bible says, there's a time for peace and a time for war and for carolina/ncaa it's time to fight!
Do we have a "best poast of the year" award on this board?

In case you guys were wondering UNC is as clean as a program as you can get. Seriously I've never seen someone go this retarded. I bet UNC PR team didn't even use lube when telling him how they want him to think.

I think what really pisses me off here is the Dan Kanes of the world, the media that has covered this. There is actually a story to be told, it is a mega story, it deserves to be told, but it isn't the small ball story Dan Kane and the rest have been willing to tell. The real story begging to be told is that if even at UNC this was discovered, just imagine how much worse this is across the entire NCAA membership? Rival fans don't like to hear it but UNC is about as clean as it gets folks, the NCAA does not want programs like Ky or kansas getting a similar anal probing as UNC because the NCAA does NOT want this story told because the head line would read EVERY NCAA PROGRAM DIRTY! The NCAA implodes at such a headline, so it wants to isolate this as just a UNC story and the Dan Kane's of the world are lazy and prefer to play easy small ball when there is a much larger game.

**Did take out the other 17 pages of his quote because I didn't want to exceed my data plan on one message.

I liken this kind of thought to "Everyone Speeds" so why should I have to pay a speeding ticket when everyone does it. It's not fair, I was only going 10 over when others go 20 over and never get caught. This is a stupid mentality.

The fact is UNC basketball players were given grades by people other than professors and had their work done for them. I agree the NCAA cannot come into a college and demand that classes be tougher, but if a non professor gives a grade to an athlete, that is an impermissible benefit, to keep an athlete eligible. If this happens, this is where the NCAA can react. I can't understand why UNC fans don't see this.

Many don't, I do. Again, that isn't to say I want us to get the death penalty or that I like the NCAA. In this third NOA, UNC could very well wait for a penalty to be handed, and go to court. However, if it's a simple slap on the wrist, I would simply take the punishment and move on.

However, bottom line is that those classes were horseshit and I'm not about to try and fool myself into believing this wasn't a deliberate ploy to keep athletes eligible without them having to do any work. It's shameful that so many of us bragged about the 'Carolina Way' for years, and it turns out academics mattered very little to the athletic department.

What I do not understand is that the NCAA would have no chance in a court ,case.Jmo the last thing UNC would want is having your player ,teachers ,etc testifying under oath with possible perjury charges pending about what went on in your program

The mindset is that if Carolina took them to court it would open a can of worms for the NCAA as well which they don't want. They'd be more inclined to settle out of court and give us a good deal. Which doesn't make any sense to me, because right up until last week, it seemed like they were letting us off easy.

I don't see the NCAA bending over because Carolina would try and sue them. If that were to happen the NCAA may give a more harsh penalty. UNC just needs to own up to the fact they got caught and got caught big time.

The court case would be interesting to see. There is precedent that could potentially be applicable in this situation. Courts have ruled that the quality of the education isn't something they would get involved with. The NCAA has also stated that it's not the NCAA's responsibility to ensure they get a quality education when they were trying to get the suit from former UNC players dismissed. I'm not sure the court would even allow the suit to go forward, which would mean that the ruling from the NCAA would be final. Going to court would be a big gamble for both parties. The NCAA could hammer UNC if they were to win. If the NCAA were to lose, then their power would be greatly diminished, although that's starting to happen for reasons outside of this situation.

I would love to see it go to court. To see hof coach roy williams , mccants or anyone of the tar heel family would be a delight no matter the outcome. I believe there will be a settlement. OFC

Did you guys know Amile Jefferson was recruited as a SF?

Knox has seen SFs thrive at Duke, too, but in cases like Parker and Ingram they thrived in part by playing PF - which is apparently something Knox does NOT want to do. And then we have Jefferson, a SF out of HS who was forced to play center. And then we have guys like Semi and Murphy who were basically thrown under the bus at Duke.

Neither did ESPN or Rivals

I hate how no one over there bothers to look up the facts. They just throw out whatever fits their narrative, and then the sheep eat it up and believe it. Then all the sheep repeat it as fact, and it spreads among their fan base like wildfire.

Right now they feel that they have a good shot at getting Knox so he is being portrayed as someone who has a different mindset than the typical OAD. I wonder how that will change if he does"t pick UNC.I guess he will be brainwashed by self-serving handlers or some other shady goings on that only Gary"S mafia is privy to.

We know unc plays a traditional line up with two bigs but a lot more teams have a small forward playing what is traditionally the 4. It isn't like a 4 is strapped to the post like in the unc system. They sure like making stuff up.

What would Jesus do? I'm not sure, but I doubt that he would bear false witness against his neighbors by claiming that Amile was recruited as a small forward.

I've been saying it forever....UNC fans say things to say things, even if they're not true. But they say them enough that soon they've tricked their minds into believing them too.

The bottom line is this....if Roy has one area where he's struggled over the years, it's been his inability to sometimes adapt to his personnel. He only does things one way. Don't get me wrong, K has tendencies I don't agree with either (sometimes with his rotations, or lack thereof), but one area where K has excelled is in adapting what he does to what best fits the talent on that specific team. He's not going to try and force feed something just to do it.
