Duke No.4 per KenPom to begin season

I'd could see this being a 10-15 ranked team majority of the year. With this team a lot to see and find out about and could go a lot of ways, just hope for an injury free season.

MSU is the clear-cut #1 team. After that I think it's pretty unpredictable at the top, tough to say just how good a lot of teams are. Including us.

Preseason KenPom computer models have little to no value. There is no way in hades that Virginia and Purdue merit top 10 rankings. Top 25? Sure, okay. But, not top 10. Tennessee at #19 is also a bit too high.

Over the weekend, Ohio State beat Louisville (#3) 80-69 in one of those closed preseason scrimmages. I don't understand the Louisville ranking, yes they return some talent, but is the talent that good? I don't see it outside of Nwora.
I think Duke smashes Louisville in Cameron and luckily we don't go to YUM this year.

I think Michigan State lost to Gonzaga in their secret scrimmage as well. I think MSU were missing some players IIRC.

Wow, despite having a pretty awesome front court, UVA has no guards! I had no idea their roster was so bare.

Nice to see the pride of HPU Jahaad Proctor leading Purdue into their season. He is a great game manager.

Exactly. I think it's possible we could see Key-Diakite-Huff play for brief periods together. But you know Bennett loves a 3-guard offense. He's got Kihei Clark, Kody Stattman, a JUCO transfer, and a 4-star freshmen. UVA's frontcourt is nice. Lots of good pieces there. But the backcourt is lacking in talent and depth.

How can Purdue compete year after year with the kind of recruiting they do, or is this just a really bad year for them?
I guess one answer is they play graduate students which means some of their players are 4 years older than OAD freshmen.

Alot of folks think Samuel Williamson is going to come in as a Freshman and be a beast and average a double/double. Folks think he’s the best Freshman outside Wiseman and Anthony.

Unless he is related to Zion Williamson....I don't see it.

Langford for Michigan State is out until 2020 with a foot injury.

See, it's not just Duke that loses key guys to foot injuries.

The way Duke looked today they are not the #4 team in the Country. Duke had better get better in a hurry, because Kansas is very good.
