How an ex Blue Devil could help his new team

Jaden Schutt showed some (albeit small)potential during his freshman year. I was hoping to see more of Jaden his sophomore year, but injuries forced him well behind the curve. I knew something was up after the first game when Jon said "Jaden faces a long journey. "I am not going to say anything else now." Soon thereafter,we got the injury news.

Oh well, Jaden made the right move for him, particularly to Va Tech I believe. Coach Mike Young likes those good shooting guards coming off screens and firing up from the perimeter.

I have always liked Coach Young, and have especially fond memories of his Wofford squad whipping the Cheaters in the nosedome. Even then he was a big proponent of the three ball.

We know Jaden can shoot, and Young can obscure his defensive deficiencies in a zone(Young is not averse to zone). Best to Jaden, hope he has a good fit and nice season.

How did you become a Duke fan?

Maybe this is stupid but I’m just curious. There are many of us who spend a lot of time to come to this forum to talk about a team with complete strangers. I have been coming to this forum for almost ten years and I’ve just been curious to what made everyone become such a big Duke basketball fan. Did you go to school at Duke? Did a relative go there? Was it 91, 92? JJ? Battier?

Me… my grandmother was actually a unc alumni who just loved college basketball. She loved it so much that she liked Duke as well. She had me (7 years old) write a letter to coach k after 91. Coach k wrote me back and I’ve been a die-hard fan since. She is in the only person I have ever known to be a die hard Duke and unc fan. I think she liked unc slightly better but never had the heart to tell me.

Power at UVA

What are your thoughts on this?

Power has the ability to lead an ACC program in scoring, though that might be a bit much to ask of him this year, and as we’ve said before, would simply be a projection based on talent, rather than using evidence from his college career to date.

If you could roast one person from Duke ...

The Roast of Tom Brady got me thinking (and honestly, I'm quite bored waiting for Sion James' announcement): If there was a roast of one person from Duke sports, past or present, who would you want it to be?

Obvious answer is Coach K.

Can take this a step further and say you've got to name who you'd like to see roasted *and* who you'd like to see do the roasting.
