Top Duke memory

Also, in the 2008-09 season, does anyone remember when we were playing at Maryland, one of their players set a moving screen and knocked Nolan Smith out cold. Next time we get the ball, Gerald Henderson drives straight down the lane and throws down an insane dunk before letting out a massive AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! That one gave me goosebumps.

So many. So many. God its great to be a Duke fan. Laettners shot is definitely the pinnacle for me, followed EVER so closely to the big UNLV win. I know it's crazy but EVERY win over UNC just rings in my head, like that famous Foreigner song "FEELS LIKE THE FIRST TIME"

Laettner shot, JJ against Texas, Tyus nailing the final 3 against Wisky and holding up the "3" fingers, the three point barrage against WVU in the 2010 FF......don't even know how to narrow just these down......

The whole 2010 run was pretty amazing. I recall everyone assuming that Baylor and West Virginia would run us out of the gym. Then those same people told us how easy a route to the title it was because we played Butler in the NC game. The same Butler that beat both #1 seeds it played to get there. The NC game was such a terrifically coached game too, on bot sides.

Loved that run.

One of mine was the Miracle Minute. I was watching the game with a friend who was a UNC fan. When Duke was down with a minute to go he started laughing and talking crap. The he got silent. I didn't even say anything to him after the game. Gotta love it.

Also the Austin Rivers shot. I remember I had my son who was only about 6 months at the time in my arms watching the game with me. When Rivers hit the shot I jumped up with him and nearly threw him in the air. The wife wasn't too happy about that one.

Meeting Jay Williams after 2011 SJU game at MSG, invited him to bar with my pals & he came along. The stories Jay told were awesome. JW Tweeted about us the following day! Met Bobby Hurley in MSG at 2012 Big East, bought him a beer & talked for good 20 mins.

I've had a lot of top personal memories- being there for JJ's 41 against Texas, again when he scored 40 vs. Gtown in dc. Being at the 2010 and 2015 Final 4s and Championship games. A number of UNC/Duke games, each of which have been amazing. The Jimmy B getting thrown out game, that was pretty awesome. Been very lucky!

My favorite memory, or most memorable, I should say, is after we lost to UNC at home in 2001. I was a senior in college at the time, my brother and I went to the game, which if you remember correctly a few UNC fans after they won ran onto the court and spat on the emblem at center court. A bunch of Duke students then ran and circled the logo/half court emblem until long after the stadium was empty. I walked down there and stood there also. A little while passed and Coach K walks out to talk to the group of students (and me). He said the team was really devastated at the loss and then he said, "We're going to win the national championship." Everyone put their fists in the middle and said "together". That was a pretty cool moment!

Ok what are some of your fav duke basketball memories besides championships? The three off too of my head are Sean Dock against VT, the miracle minute and rivers vs carolina
Coach K 1000th Win game
JJ Redick in the 2006 ACC championship game.
Tyus Jones late game heroics against UNC.
Revenge game this year against NC state in the ACC tournament when we just flat out obliterated them!!!
Beating Virginia at Virginia this year to give them their first loss.
Too many more to name! Those are just a few!!

Another top memory for me is the only Duke men's baskeball game that I've ever been to. Back in 2010 we played UNCG at the Greensboro Coliseum. It was the game where Coach K tied Dean Smith for second on the all-time wins list.

Too many ... but here are a few jumping right out:

1) Grayson diving outbounds after deflecting the loose ball off UW player + taking it hard to the rack afterwards. (I started to feel we would have a chance.)

2) Tyus off the high pick and nailed the mid range, right when I was yelling at the TV "pull up..." (I felt that we just put a nail in UW coffin.)

3) Dre buried two threes right before the half against Baylor (I felt that we just dodged a major bullet.)

Many more... But these really interfered with my heartbeat.

1) Laettner's shot (no doubter for me)
2) Battier's block on Jason Gardner vs. Arizona in the title game and then Dunleavy hitting a three on the other end which put Duke up by 10
3) Duke down 10 with a minute to go at Maryland; Jay Will goes nuts, game goes to OT and Duke wins.
4) I think it was 2003, Dahntay Jones threw down an awesome dunk at UVA on the road (they still played at University Hall then) and then did some pushups afterward.
5) 2004 win at Carolina. Chris Duhon got the game winner in OT
6) Wins at UVA and home vs. Carolina this past season
