The New Lounge

If you can’t succeed in the United States you’re either a dumbass or lazy piece of sh!t. When I graduated college my wife and I moved our belongings in a pickup truck. We were both teachers. She got her masters and moved up the ladder. I worked an extra job every day and on Saturday’s. Now we have a nice 2900 sq ft home and a park model near the beach. Yeah capitalism sucks. Refer back to the first sentence and see if you can figure out which one you are. I think it’s probably both.
I've worked since I was 17. I rarely eat out or spend any money on things I don't absolutely need outside of the occasional toy for my daughter or ensuring she has an excellent Christmas or birthday. The only time I even consider splurging on myself or my fiancee is tax time. I save what I can, I work 40 hours every week and overtime when I can get it.

But I'm a dumbass and a lazy piece of shit because....none of it actually amounts to anything other than scraping by even though I'm in what is considered a low cost of living area? Oh yeah, and I'm taking on debt to get a degree that will hopefully net me a job that pays a bit better and I don't absolutely loathe. But again I'm a dumbass, lazy piece of shit.

I guess it comes down to how you define success. I don't know how old you are. But for a lot of people hard work doesn't SEEM to pay off until you're in or through your 30's. People look at their current situation like it is the end of their book. When in reality it is just the opening paragraph. If you are struggling now, like many young people, and you continue to work hard and live smart, there is basically no way that you won't reap the benefits of your hard work. Seriously, you need to quit paying rent and do whatever it takes to own a house. Even if it is a trailer or a double wide on a 1/3 acre lot. That would be where I started.

Well, they are the people who left, after all. Should other countries judge the US by the opinions of our expatriates?
In many cases, they are the ones that got away. Why did you ignore the context to make a strange comment like this?

If you’re waiting for a tax refund, you need to work with your payroll team to get it (your W4) where you break even at year end. Why give the gov a loan throughout the calendar year (actually 15 months)?

Ukraine is really looking rough. Thankfully we are dumping billions into them….

Claiming you support consequences for President Trump just like anyone else should he be found guilty is completely walked back when you then start bleating conspiracy theories about witch hunts.

I said the media lied, twisted and manufactured stories about Trump. You honesty, not from your position as a loyalists to the anti-Trump party, but honestly believe that is a conspiracy theory? You can still hate Trump and everything he stands for AND acknowledge that those things are true.

If the wife would allow it, I would love to take in a few of those refugees. You know, for support of Ukraine.

Perfect example of equating money and character, which is absolute crap.

You and I are in the same age bracket. I hope someone throat punches me if I ever start using my own experiences as a way of silencing someone else's experience. How it worked out for us back in the day has nothing to do with younger people's results for the same efforts toda

I’m glad I was able to help you figure out that you fell into both categories. Good day.

Why are the younger people having a more difficult time today?
It should be easier to get ahead in today’s society with the Biden administration at the helm, at least I thought the Bidenomics were making things better. Maybe it has something to do with 30 year home mortgage rates going up 4% since Biden took over and the median price of a home has gone up over a $103,000.
By the way Dat, when everyone makes excuses for this younger generation there’s no wonder they start feeling hopeless. I still stand by my previous post.

Nah, but if you say so,....so your disdain for one person takes all your support and best wishes away from the team?
See, there you go. You really suck at trolling my woman.

Go get another booster, 🐑

So it was just the jabs. Enjoy those lasting, underlying side effects 🤡😘

You’re really bad at trolling (and speculation) lol 😉
So we are going from back and forth banter and conversation to basically wishing ill will...got it👍🏾

Yeah, interest rates over the last year and a half are why young people all of a sudden can't afford homes.
You know things don't change that quickly. This has been a generation or more in the making.
You think making excuses is why they feel hopeless? And your solution is to (a) not listen, & (b) brag about how you did it?

Okay, got away. I'm not sure what your context was because the illogical example you gave was so distracting.

You seriously just said "loyalists to the anti-Trump party" in the same sentence you're pushing back on the idea that you're spouting conspiracy theories. No irony whatsoever.

Yeah, that was over the top sarcasm. There always has to be that little unimportant slant that gives you an excuse to avoid the important parts. There is absolutely nothing conspiratorial about what I said. They are 100% verifiable facts that only fools would deny. Again, in no way would you be supporting Trump by acknowledging what the media is guilty of. You just can't stand the thought of giving an inch in an argument.

The media is highly compromised. I don't believe that has any bearing on what President Trump has been indicted for. As I have already said twice, pointing at the media immediately after virtue-signaling your support for consequences should Trump be convicted, you're basically undermining that claim.

But that's not what happened. I think you are focusing only on what I said and not what I was responding to when I said it. They're not even related. What Trump is being indicted for has nothing at all to do with what I said about the media.

Was Trump paying prostitutes to piss on a bed that Obama slept on actually real, or a lie? Because the media reported that.

Was Russia gate real or proven to be a bought and paid for witch hunt? Because the media lied, twisted and manufactured stories about that to no end.

Let's not even start with the "real fine people" shit that people still twist and lie about.

The list goes on and on. But that has nothing to do with me believing that he should face the same consequences that you or I would if he is proven to be guilty of what he has been indicted for. That is YOU twisting shit.

And to add, I will be accused of defending Trump by making these factual statements. When in reality, I really don't care what happens with Trump.

The media reported allegations. I don't pay attention to any media that ever claimed any of that as fact.

Not sure what you're saying is still being twisted and lied about re: "real fine people." President Trump absolutely said, "...you had some very bad people in that group, but you also had people that were very fine people, on both sides."

You get accused of defending President Trump because you do. You go to tremendous length to defend him in the moment every time. You never step back and distance yourself from his style or character until after the fact, and only ambiguously and theoretically then. You do not show any such rigor in defending anyone w/ whom you disagree against the lies told against them.

They’re a huge reason why, along with general inflation (thank you Bidenomics). Leftists tend to be far more financially-challenged, so I wouldn’t expect you to grasp these basic facts.

Real wages were a lot closer to the cost of living before the rates were raised in order to combat inflation. The left used the same standard for improvement with gas prices when there were 90 consecutive days of the price going down, but still $1.85 higher than they were before they went up. Inflation went up to what they admitted was like 8%. Which means it really was more like 12% and not even considering gas and groceries. Now they claimed improvement in inflation and gloated about it being due to the green corruption act, errr.... inflation reduction act. But now it isn't in the news anymore because inflation is going back up again.

Going back to the record low unemployment. Has anyone gone to a grocery store, restaurant, retail store, home improvement warehouse or anywhere for that matter without seeing a help wanted sign? All of those same places, have you noticed that there are shortages of employees compared to where it was before covid? To act like things are going great because of a skewed number is pretty silly. I wonder if people still think the inflation reduction act was intended to help everyday Americans.

Reading through my emails I see one from Pennymac. Going over the benefits of refinancing my mortgage. An estimated new mortgage payment would be $2,481/mo, almost $1,000 more than what it currently is. Lol of course they want me to refinance.

Is it 2008 again already?

Does this help everyday Americans?
the other side of the coin...no pun intended. These types of targeted tax policies rarely work the way they are expected, as those who have built that wealth didnt do so by being stupid. Beware of unintended consequences.

"If even a small percentage of high earners and entrepreneurs leave the state, shift their business investments elsewhere, or choose other states in which to launch their startups, the effects start to add up—and spread—quickly. An analysis from the business-friendly Tax Foundation suggests that the state’s gross domestic product (GDP) will fall by roughly $6 billion by the end of 2025—a contraction of nearly $6 million a day for three years."

A good article outline the potential perils of this policy. It remains to be seen what happens long term

And other examples

I would also like to see what else is in that bill. Chances are the free lunches is just a feel good section of a bill loaded with more corruption.

Probably so. It’s the old Democrat “How can you be against this bill? You must hate children” scam to one degree or another
