He looks like he doesn't have a care in the world, which means his parents are doing a great job.

Right, because Democrats were the ones that called the racists in Charlottesville lovely people and are the ones who oppose renaming the military bases. Hate crime are up under Trump’s watch. He is the one letting Steve Miller run his immigration platform. You can keep sticking your head in the sand, but that doesn’t mean the neo-nazis are not continuing to crawl out from under their rocks and support the current PresidentIt’s not so much that I stand in the Trump camp as much as I stand in the “I’m tired of the same ol same ol that ALL of them have been doing for decades.
Spin it how you want to, the crying out of ‘white supremacy’ is a tired act. One that also is used for political and money gain. Pure and simple.
Biden’s comments in his interview a couple weeks ago spoke volumes. “Vote for me, I’m the candidate to help you!” That’s nothing but a lie.
Look up the stats on poor cities and the party that’s led those cities, and for how long that party has led those cities.
Maybe it is white supremacy, but that’s not exclusive to one party. But I know, I know, it’s Trump’s fault.

We can do like Sheldon did in The Big Bang Theory. He put a laptop on a robot thing with his shirt and pants to avoid exposure to the flu. If you've never seen it, it's hilarious.
There would be no way K would sit out “becuase of his age” and send another man in the fire. I don’t think there’s any chance in that. I could see him retiring maybe...
Agreed Va. Sometimes I feel we think he's going to be our coach forever, we like him so much and hes such a tough sonovagun. However fact remains this scenario could unfold per the pandemic. I would think Jimmy Boeheim would fall in the same category of susceptibility as well.
OFC
He’s not going to sit out - I understand the question but a majority of those who get covid (CONFIRMED) have a very low risk of dying from it, even those who are older.
At his age he’s not gonna “sit out” a season. He’d hang it up at before doing that.If it's the difference between life and possibly death he very well may and who could blame him
I could see that sort of deal....If he doesn’t coach this year, he’s not coaching the next lolQuestion is, if the situation would unfortunately play out with K this year, would he decide to not come back and simply retire? A year as interim head coach may be just what a John Scheyer would need to adapt to handling the job. OFC
its data my friend. I’ve been saying since day 1: covid is overblown. I’m right, but again it’s an election year so we need chaos, fear, etc.Fourteen i like your confidence!!! OFC

Stubborn K sitting out a year....Nahh lol

if you guys don’t want these basketball threads to get hijacked into political arguments perhaps you could refrain from launching grenades into the discussion.V

thanks and i think it is a worthwhile discussion. i was responding to the comment about the virus being overblown. i fear that could start a discussion that sends us right down the same rabbit hole as the drew brees thread. As to your question, i saw one writer suggest that the older coaches might run practice but coach the games more remotely. not ideal to try relay texts or cellphone conversations but technologically feasible. Also K is not the only older coach. Ole Roy is getting up there.SDevada we agree here. I am not throwing any partisan political thoughts here. This is just summer speculation on Duke basketball. We ALL love our boys and K.

Of course, K has earned the right to coach as long as he wishes. I just think this is the perfect time for him to retire. Times are crazy, we don’t know how much of the season we will have, or whether fans will get to go.
We always talk about transitioning to life after K. Well, I think this is a great time to start that transition.
Anecdotally, it seems like a lot of people who are around K's age are making that same decision. While I am not that age, I am within a year of retirement. We will not likely be back in our building until 2021 and even then not full staffed. Plus, the subway will still be pretty dangerous. There is a good chance that I will just roll up the rug and say goodbye. It makes me sad that I am thinking that way and I would hate for K to go out this way.Of course, K has earned the right to coach as long as he wishes. Grenade? It’s statistical fact. It’s part of what I do for a living. Covid is real, it can be lethal, but it’s not as contagious or lethal overall as they lead with. Mistakes happen in forecasting. Regardless both political parties are in need of something to argue about so you’ll see a “second wave”.if you guys don’t want these basketball threads to get hijacked into political arguments perhaps you could refrain from launching grenades into the discussion.
GOOD POINTS.....OFC
Buddy, this shouldn’t turn political based on my one comment which actually calls out both parties lol. Clinically and statistically this covid is burning out, isn’t mutating, and is getting hit harder now here with developing immunity. Hell we are testing over 50x faster than ever as the big 3 labs can’t keep up with demand. The crazy part? Negative results are astoundingly high. We are seeing people with seasonal allergies convinced they have covid, for example. In spite of that there’s a chess game being played up through November, so please keep that in mind as the media (both sides) does their best to hype it up. Amazingly you’ll see covid disappear from the news come December.
Hope you’re well.
