I think we need to change up a few things defensively. I recall in 2019, K put Goldwire on Cam Johnson, I’d love to see Dell guard Manek and just get after him all game.
Also, similar to how K played UNLV in 91, we can leave Leaky Black a lone, sag off him, help on Bacot and not anyone else. If we lose because Leaky had a career night, so be it.
Also, Love will want to show out and he’ll play that way, let him. I’m still a firm believer he can’t shoot it from deep (2/8) currently. Pressure him but contain his dribble drive, force him to beat us with a jumper.
Offensively, I’d love to see bursts all game of our small ball lineup with Banchero at the 5. This forces Bacot or Manek to guard a mobile big or guard, hence the risk for increased fouls. Carolina plays 6 guys, Manek or Bacot get early fouls they are in trouble.
Whomever Manek is guarding we need to exploit that match up at every opportunity.
