Favorite THR Quotes....

I concur. Though I am from the state of North Carolina, I will still root for the Tar Heels, rain or shine, good times and bad. My loyalty hasn't wavered and it never will.

Though many on THR probably still think I'm a secret duke fan lol.

And NOBODY on DI will ever think I am a secret unc fan lol.

I was born and raised in North Carolina as well. I was actually born at Duke and live about 20 minutes from Duke and I don't think anyone on DI will ever think I'm a secret UNCheat fan either lol

Born in NC been a Duke fan Since I was seven even when it wasn't easy to be one.The old farts on this board will know what I am talking about

Lol did it look like I was asking for pity? Don't think so.

Doesn't mean you don't need it. Are you one of those that really thinks men's bball was totally innocent in the academics scandal?? And yeah, a lot of you like to use the word "scandal" as if it wasn't really the SCANDAL that it was. The NCAA protecting UNC the way they did is disgusting. They might as well just disband because what authority do they have now? If I was a University and those clowns tried to punish me for anything I would give them the middle finger and tell them to F off because of the UNC joke. And yeah, Roy AND Dean both knew. As did Guthridge and Doherty I suppose.

More from gary in a thread about PJ Washington. Several of them really think they have a great shot at landing PJ Washington, bless their hearts. And the rationale as to why he went to UK this past weekend instead of UNC's lame ass event was because he scheduled it in July so he had to go to UK. Lol.

"Arright... I know this is gonna fall on deaf ears but here goes:
1) So, PJ is very high on uk. PJ is also very high on UNC. You don't know whom PJ is higher on nor do I.
2) I can tell you that a coach from one school visiting a recruit right after he visits another school is a COMMON recruiting practice. It is no indication of anything beyond the fact that this is a critical phase of PJ's recruitment. I would expect no less from Roy when he prioritizes a player, and he's done it before. And the head man showing up instead of an assistant means something, so good on Roy for putting on the personal touch.
3) Step away from the ledge. We are recruiting a top player against two very formidable opponents, neither of whom quite frankly have any scruples as to how they go about things... the kind of stuff we've battled against for years. Roy is giving it his best honest shot which is pretty doggone strong. If that's not enough that would suck, but in that event it would be on to the next man."

DSouthr. Man are they going to be heartbroken when PJ picks UK and Knox picks Duke. And now they are dreaming about having a serious shot at Vanderbilt too. Yikes.

"Question for those of you that feel Ky leads for PJ, it feels to me as if the real steam for this belief picked up after we were reminded that PJ was going to late night at Ky. Even thou PJ had made those plans to be at Ky late night well in advance, it seemed that when he made sure everyone knew where he was going for that night that the band wagon got loaded with folks feeling our chance at the kid had slipped away. So I am wondering how much of this PJ to Ky is because he went to their late night and not ours?

The only other argument I can see is that Ky is a pipe for the one & done players to the NBA. Problem with that argument is that has not changed, that was just as much true when the majority of the Tar Heel faithful believe we led for the kid so there has been no change on that front. The only thing I see as a change is PJ attended their late night and not ours.

So I sincerely, I respectfully, ask how much of a factor you see his attending their late night was in your belief that Ky is the far and away leader for the kid?"

RoseHeel:

"Judging by the visit and our chances, I really don't see how things aren't looking good.

Regardless of who called the meeting (which it sounds like it was PJ's camp, since both team coaches visited on the same day), the fact that both UK and UNC went out there shouldn't be misconstrued as bad news.

IMO, I think it's just a meeting to "Touch base" after all the visits. And he may very well do the same with Arizona (and apparently UNLV).

We're about at the homestretch of his recruitment, and I'd say we're doing much better than we have done in recent years with recruits of this caliber.

And keep in mind that Zona might be landing 1 or more top rated recruits in Ira Lee or Brandon McCoy very soon. Should that happen, it should only strengthen our chances with both PJ and Vanderbilt."

Just cool it. carolinablue has been nothing but respectful here.

When PJ Washington commits to UK, he will be doing so out of respect for Roy Williams.

In all seriousness, they could get him (or someone else like a Knox) because this streak of missing on high-end guys will not last long at a place like UNC. They will land someone, probably this recruiting cycle.

What really irks me is that his assertion that the only reason that the other schools would get the kid is that they are cheating and Roy is Sir Galahad.I honest do not understand how anyone would ever mention ethics after what they did

dadika hoping, and praying, that Bamba has no interest in Duke. Here he is trying to convince himself... Oh, and he has a "handler" calling some of the shots. Lol. Amazing how the guys at THR have so much inside info. all the time.

topps coach said:
"David if Bamba indeed waits to the spring to commit we will be right in there for him.Our chances will depend on whether or not we get Carter and if Bolden is an OAD.Bolden is the key part here."

dadika:
"Right now...and since he's spring a lot can change...but right now there is very little buzz on Bamba to Duke up here (I live in NYC and talk to some of his former coaches whenever I'm around the gyms watching games). Almost everyone thinks it's UK's to lose right now, he's got a handler calling some of the shots. Bamba loves Harvard and is high on Michigan, but there are some people in his ear for UK."

The irony of DSouthr giving someone a lecture on the difference of opinion and fact.

"This is opinion, it is not fact, in the case of Huffman it is opinion I strongly disagree with. That is nothing but differing opinions but lets not elevate one opinion as fact and the other as opinion."

Hahahaha. I wonder if he reads that stuff after he throws his hissy fits at other member for doing exactly what he did right there?

You hold more faith than I do lol. No one wants to break this streak of OAD misses more than I do, but it's tough getting my hopes up right now.

DSouthr saying he thinks PJ Washington will be their next commit (Lol):

"Well, you guys know I think it is PJ BUT... The but is the wild card IMO, that wild card may well be Vanderbilt. I know we have Vanderbilt's head turned, I STRONGLY suspect 2 what I would call important factors may be playing out.

First, Vanderbilt has long wanted Kalipari to show him love but he has kinda been put on a string by Kal, I have suggested that may by now have turned Vanderbilt in to more of a hate mode for Kal & Ky, it is kinda what happens when you play some of these kids. Now that could well have the effect of his now wanting to show kal what he missed out on by going to a hated rival, UNC would fit that bill more so than TCU would. After all, what late night did the kid attend again? And ALL this Kal love going to PJ, to Vanderbilt could that not have him asking, what about me?

Second, if you are Roy and you are starting to feel like Vanderbilt may be ready to commit to you but you prefer PJ, what would you do? Tell ya what I would do, I would want to talk to PJ face to face to gauge his interest and to let him know that Vanderbilt wants to play for us, that he is close to a commit, if you want to play for me I need to know now because I need to let Vanderbilt know where we stand with him. What did Roy do...LOL"

Then mike tells him it is a bit of a reach and and DSouthr gives this response.

mikeirbyusa said:
"Dang Dave! While that may all be true you sure are reaching. :)"

DSouthr:
"Just logically laying it out..."

Since when has this guy ever infused any LOGIC into a discussion?? Wow...

DSouthr getting pouty again:

dadika13 said:
"Where did you hear that Vanderbilt was "close to committing"? No one has said that.

So you want Roy to lie to PJ about another player?"

Why do you need to do that? You accuse me of saying something I did not say, why?

DSouthr:
"Go read what I said, I did NOT say that Vanderbilt was close to committing to us, I used a hypothetical and stated I suspected this MAY BE PLAYING OUT! The only declarative I said in that entire post was that we had Vanderbilt's head turned, would you like to dispute that?

Where did you hear that Vanderbilt had a terrible experience on his UNC visit and Late Night and told Roy he was no longer interested in us?"

Man, DSouth seems like he's on the verge of another meltdown over there. @dadika13 roasting him on a daily basis.

What thread? I kind of am appreciating more THR posters who have finally seen that guy for what he is. Why is took so long? I don't know....but regardless, I love watching him squirm and then him thinking he's the one who is the big shot. Even long-time regulars are finally rolling their eyes.
