I said an impact like Hurt. Not just like Hurt. Wonderful things can happen when you read people's entire post. ![Smile :) :)](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)
Two different players IMO his impact will be way better then Hurts. Hurt was a one way player and not much after that’s why his draft stock plummeted between years one and two. He never showed the ability to defend or rebound for his size .I said an impact like Hurt. Not just like Hurt. Wonderful things can happen when you read people's entire post.![]()
He isn’t top 20 draft material at this point. If he is that’s the weakest class in history. He has a high ceiling, though. If he stays where every mock draft has him he is gone. IMO Duke needs him to be worthy of that rank with nothing but freshman on the roster .
NBA drafts on potential. Hence your last statement is why he predicted so high .He isn’t top 20 draft material at this point. If he is that’s the weakest class in history. He has a high ceiling, though.
Again he’s not top 20 material at this point. Matt Hurt likely was too, but after one college season we saw how that stood up.NBA drafts on potential. Hence your last statement is why he predicted so high .
Different positions. Hurt was a listed as a sf . Flip is listed as a center . He already defends better then Hurt .Again he’s not top 20 material at this point. Matt Hurt likely was too, but after one college season we saw how that stood up.
Hahaaa, different “positions”. Both are stretch forwards. Kyle - PF, Matthew - PF (rivals). They’re not much different at all. You’re grasping at straws here. Keep telling yourself he’s NBA ready and TOP 20....you’re in for a big let down 😂Different positions. Hurt was a listed as a sf . Flip is listed as a center . He already defends better then Hurt .
24/7 has Hurt listed as a sf and Flip as a center you keep grasping at straws . I’m not in for a big let down I know where the kid is going after his one year at Duke . You keep throwing recruits under the bus saying they aren’t ready . Guess that’s why he climbed up the rankings so quick . More recruiting sites then just rivals there buddy .Hahaaa, different “positions”. Both are stretch forwards. Kyle - PF, Matthew - PF (rivals). They’re not much different at all. To be honest, Jon can’t afford for this team to end up like the 20-21 team . Duke needs their current recruits to play to their rankings coming out of high school . I always hold any predictions for any Duke team until the first game of the season but this is the one season the players need to live up to their rankings .I think we need to really manage expectations for next year. New coach and basically a new team. Roach returning would be nice. Hopefully Blakes can take that next step in being a serviceable back up. But, like with every year for the past decade, it’s going to take time for this team to gel because they’re so young and have never played together.
I thought you usually hold your predictions until just before the ncaa tournament. Like this year when you predicted we wouldn’t make past the first weekend? 🤷🏻♂️To be honest, Jon can’t afford for this team to end up like the 20-21 team . Dude you’re hurting - which recruits am I “throwing under the bus?” My realism isn’t throwing anyone under the bus - Hurt and Flip are both stretch forwards. If you think this kid is a true Center then you’re the one, again, setting yourself up for let down. And you do realize there’s no “stretch forward” listing, right? It’s a description used for specific players that can use size in the post but also drag defenders out to the perimeter based on ability to knock down jumpers. Oy 🤦🏻♂️24/7 has Hurt listed as a sf and Flip as a center you keep grasping at straws . I’m not in for a big let down I know where the kid is going after his one year at Duke . Flip and his brother played center . His brother being the more traditional then the two. Just because it say stretch doesn’t mean stretch four .
Checked every site and Rivals is the only one who has him listed as a pf. USA basketball has him listed as a pf/C none have the word “ Stretch” next to his position . Think your just going off of people saying he can shoot the three.
No I predicted Duke was a sweet 16 team all season better go back and check every post! What prediction did I make here. Saying they need to live up to their ranking is a statement not a prediction!I thought you usually hold your predictions until just before the ncaa tournament. Like this year when you predicted we wouldn’t make past the first weekend? 🤷🏻♂️
He’ll be a Duke two max and that his high school coach not a league coach . Didn’t you say he was slow? So how’s he going to hold faster athletic power forwards ?Dude you’re hurting - which recruits am I “throwing under the bus?” My realism isn’t throwing anyone under the bus - Hurt and Flip are both stretch forwards. Note his prep coach even says:
Wilbraham & Monson Academy (Mass.) coach Mike Mannix chuckles when he sees his star player called a center. “Kyle doesn’t play center. He is a forward,” said Mannix. “If my boy is a center he is the best ball-handling center basketball has ever seen.”
This is almost as good as your meltdown against TTU, when you said the game was over early on, then denied it.
there’s nothing else to discuss here - Kyle is a stretch forward and as of today, not a top 20 draft pick. Let’s let the kid come in for a couple years and prove himself before saying he will be a top 20 draft pick in 2023 😂
I just educated you, clearly. And you really just tried to say his prep coach doesn’t know what he’s talking about? 😂😂😂He’ll be a Duke two max and that his high school coach not a league coach . Didn’t you say he was slow? So how’s he going to hold faster athletic power forwards ?
How am I hurting he is the new age center in the league never said he was a traditional center like his brother . Learn basketball and come holler at me .
what meltdown after Texas tech are you talking about ? And when did I Deny it?
He’s not a better passer than Hurt. Taller? Sure, maybe an inch, and definitely heavier. He’s about the same lateral speed as Hurt though. He def can rough it up more but he’s not long for his size so isn’t much of a rim protector....that’ll be Livelys role!Kyle is taller than Hurt, stronger than Hurt, a better rebounder than Hurt, better defender than Hurt, a better ball handler than Hurt, and a better passer than Hurt.
Hurt is a better shooter than Kyle. Hurt, as a sophomore, was a great shooter for a taller 3. Question is, how good a shooter will Kyle be as a 4-5?
Lol so it was just me not all the people under my post agreeing with me got you ? I was also half way through a fifth of Jameson which I think me and another poster cleared up .I just educated you, clearly. And you really just tried to say his prep coach doesn’t know what he’s talking about? 😂😂😂
ps your meltdown started on page 5, with things like “Duke is done.” And “k’s run ends here.”
***DUKE VS TEXAS TECH SWEET 16 OFFICIAL GAMEDAY THREAD***
Some of these calls on Duke, if they are fouls, officials have missed a lot on TT...duke.forums.rivals.com
That’s if him and lively are on the floor together. He won’t be on the perimeter as much as Hurt was either .He’s not a better passer than Hurt. Taller? Sure, maybe an inch, and definitely heavier. Also he doesn’t . He says Kyle has handles . Go watch Flip vs Popa Kanta. That’s a pf who Flip couldn’t do anything against except shoot threes. Couldn’t stay in front of him or hold him on the perimeter . Only time you see flip handle the ball is against small guards . Didn’t see him try to bring the ball up , haven’t seen him cross anyone over .
How did you educate me?
Just wait and see 😉. Hell he’s not even the 5 on his AAU team. That’s if him and lively are on the floor together. He won’t be on the perimeter as much as Hurt was either .
His brother is .Just wait and see 😉. Hell he’s not even the 5 on his AAU team.
Exactly and could not Hold Kante. That’s my point how’s he going to hold junior pf at the college level . You even said he doesn’t move fast laterally. He will do his best work in the post then pull out the opposing secondary big when/if him and lively are on the floor together .I will take the coach’s word for it. If Flip is a true 5, he’s screwed, and Duke wasted a scholly. Yes, I saw that video (and game - was streamed), and Flip played a lot of 4 that game.
Man come on . In an interview Flip says his brother is more the old school center where as he’s the new age center with the ability to shoot the three. And? Doesn’t matter who it is lol.
Yikes, you’re going in circles now. Hurt was a 4. Ryan Kelly was a 4. Both slow AF and able to succeed. Again Flip is not a Center and won’t be at Duke outside of playing 5 in a small ball setting.Exactly and could not Hold Kante. That’s my point how’s he going to hold junior pf at the college level . You even said he doesn’t move fast laterally. He will do his best work in the post then pull out the opposing secondary big when/if him and lively are on the floor together .
Again, doesn’t matter. He’s not a center, as cited by his coach. But hey, you know more than his coach lol.Man come on . In an interview Flip says his brother is more the old school center where as he’s the new age center with the ability to shoot the three.
Not as much as he loves Flip. Maybe a love triangle?!?I think you two secretly love each other.
Nailed it.It doesn't matter. He will more than likely play the Power forward position when he is on the court with Lively... and with a smaller rotation move to the center slot just because he's the tallest on the floor. I could care less what position he is listed, just come in and perform.
I think you two secretly love each other.
Come on man, you have to go with the original version by The Cure!
Huge 311 fan. 😀Come on man, you have to go with the original version by The Cure!
For the last time Hurt came in as a small forward don’t know where your getting pf from. Your the one saying hold expectations on flip I simply said he’s a top twenty recruit and listed in the top twenty of the draft . As it appears you look him up more then I do so it’s you with the love affair with him. Your the one arguing he’s a stretch four which he isn’t . He’s a modern day big who doesn’t have the quickness to guard on the perimeter but can shoot the three. Once again this all started because you said he wasn’t a top twenty prospect in the draft .Yikes, you’re going in circles now. Hurt was a 4. Ryan Kelly was a 4. Both slow AF and able to succeed. Again Flip is not a Center and won’t be at Duke outside of playing 5 in a small ball setting.
Yea but most importantly, where is he projected to go in the mick draft? 🤪Nailed it.
