It was a pleasant surprise to see Duke come out like gangbusters from the start.

Several players had good games. Proctor only had one basket on 1-6 shooting but otherwise looked good. Hope he is hitting his shots soon. Watching the game it seemed like we had more than just two players in double digits scoring wise - but no it was an across the board effort with 16 of our points coming from off the bench. Young especially oof the bench had some good contributions with his 3-3 shooting and his 5 rebounds in 15 minutes of play..

Getting the game thread up a day early because I've got a feature that just published:

On Kyle Filipowski being able to Flip the switch on first-half "funks" this season.

There's a lot of insight there from Flip because, I'd like to think, I've got a good locker room rapport with him and he trusts me. Most of the quotes from him come from after most of the beat had cleared out of the locker room on Tuesday night. These are the types of stories I really enjoy telling and diving into.

Well a win is a win. But boy as a ream we played like shyte against a shyte team. Flip could not handle the defensive pressure and made bad shot decision after bad shot decision. We are missing what Rosh would lament every year - a banger.

Scheyer not picking up a grad transfer Center is hurting us.

Bright spots -

Mitchell - well his entire game really. But especially finding his shot. Tgat second rattling three was ugly, but it was in.

Roach - played like we needed. Steadying force on this team.

They are the only two that get my nominations as the rest of tge team was largely MIA.

At least tge team weathered the storm and a win tgat generates growth is better than a loss that generates growth. Hopefully it generated growth...

ACC play is officially here(let’s forget the GT debacle) and Duke will host the orange and first year head coach Adrian Autry who replaces famous Cameron tantrum thrower Jimmy B. The Cuse come into Cameron with a 10-3 record however they are a 14.5 point underdog to our blue devils. With their biggest win coming against Pitt I’m sure the orange would like to get the W tonight to help that resume

Judah mintz (sounds like a good name for a candy) is still cooking for the orange with a team high 19.2 ppg, 3.8 assist, and 2.2 steals. Getting him back was key for coach autry who has been on the Cuse bench since 11-12 season.

Can’t blame him I’ve had similar thoughts. Just crazy that it looks like he’s regressed more than anything. What were his strengths in high school again? Wasn’t he rated higher than Grady dick and was in the same team?

I just bought some Duke men's basketball tickets on StubHub and it said they were paper tickets that would be delivered in the mail. I was under the impression that Duke has gone to all mobile tickets for games. Does anyone know if this is the case, or if they still have some paper tickets?

Through 5 games and with a relatively clean bill of health, figure this is a good time to start this discussion.

Story on today's announcement that Duke is going to the Birmingham Bowl.

I'll get the programming note out of the way now: I'm going to be covering this one remotely.

A programming ... note: I've been to the Birmingham Bowl once before, in 2018 while covering Wake Forest. I would strongly recommend not staying close to the stadium. Granted, the area could've changed over 5 years. But that was very much a "cover this game and get the f*** out of town" bowl experience.

I'm sure more storylines will emerge but the most interesting one to this point is that Duke could interviewing Troy coach Jon Sumrall in the next day or two. Off the top of my head ... Scott Satterfield left Louisville last year to go to Cincinnati, and those teams played each other in the Fenway Bowl.
